SmackDown is just SO much better than Raw!

Watching Raw this week has only solidified SmackDown's superiority over it in my mind. The booking on this Raw was just...CRAP. From the opening, boring-as-hell 'Taker interview, to the barely-watchable hardcore match, to the waste-of-time that was RVD/Big Show, all the way down to the over-booked shlockfest that was the main event, RAW JUST FRICKIN' BLEW CHUNKS. I fail to see how Raw can garner so many more smarky viewers than SmackDown. It can't be just Steph as GM, can it? Surely her presence is not worth forsaking the better viewing for Triple H promos and Fozzy concerts? I donno about anyone else here, but I would much rather watch Rock/Benoit, which actually had a decently-booked finish as opposed to a CLUSTERFUCK of massive proportions. Hell, I'd even much rather watch Kurt Angle fight a loser like Mark Henry who will at least TRY to work and make Kurt look good, as opposed to Big Show's giant tool ass making RVD look like a bitch. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! I just don't get it, I suppose.

Oh well. At least I got to see Trish nearly naked and Brock over-sell the superkick.

This week's RAW sucked balls. Last week's was one of the best...ever. RAW a whole is vastly superior to Smackdown, IMO. It's odd really. RAW goes from terrible one week to phenomal the next. Smackdown has stayed mediocore since the split, and it quite boring & uneventful.

I don't think it is uneventful at all, but that is apparently just me. I dig all the cruiserweight stuff, Angle, Brock, Rey Rey, Benoit and Eddy. Batista as well. So long as the shows keep up with all those, I'm a happy man. To me, SmackDown is just so much more rewarding than Raw anymore. Words can't describe how bad this week's Raw was to me. It has just destroyed my faith in the show, period. That's not to say I won't WATCH, of course...

I know. Most of my favorite wrestlers are on Smackdown, but they're doing nothing with them there. But RAW, with the exception of tonight, has been putting on some great shows lately.

The canned heat and uneventful shows on Smackdown just don't do it for me lately.

Raw has come out with some historical pro-wrestling moments, and has had some shitty shows. Smackdown has come out with largely unspectacular moments in history, and has a mediocre show usually every week. Hey, Raw tonight sucked monkey balls, but there have been so many great shows that negate the lackluster ones.

RAW is missing one thing that would just put them over the top...

Yes, but I am talking specifically post-brand extension here. What truly historical moments have happened in the entire company since then? It just seems to me that SmackDown's shows have been consistently better and, not only that, they have better PERFORMERS overall. Triple H/Rock just can't hold a candle to Benoit/Rock. At all.

La Parka rules!!! but shouldn't he be on Smackdown with the Cruiserweights?

Guest BigTim2002

No, because he could be RAWs cruiserweight that would bring the title to RAW!

FEAR THE CHARIMAN!

This weeks Raw is an unfair comparison. This wasn't a show, this was a 2 hour infomercial trying to sell us Summerslam.

I'll take last weeks Raw, or the one before it, or the one before that, over anything Smackdown has produced in months.

There should be a tag team made of La Parka and FUNAKI~! wherein they do the badly-dubbed-in-promo-voices thing all the time and get beaten down consistently. Then La Parka can go SKELETON~! on Sho's ass with a chair and become the premiere player on the SmackDown brand, besting everyone on the show and stealing Steph from HHH. Then, surely, everyone would agree that SmackDown is superior. Then Ultimo Dragon could return from retirement to reform a NEW AND IMPROVED Latino World Order, leading to La Parka turning heel on him and attacking with the chair. Then La Parka could say he was "just being a friend" to Ultimo and offer Ultimo a position as his manager. And then, finally, a match could be signed at Summer Slam which would lead to Ultimo botching a plancha and nearly killing himself as part of the pre-PPV hype. Everyone would like SmackDown better then! Right?

Yeah but Eddie/Rock, RVD/Booker, RVD/Benoit, Dreamer/Richards, and Last Week's main event all were on RAW. Benoit and Eddie just got on Smackdown just recently.

Smackdown had great wrestling with no good storylines to back it up.

I say that they reform the LWO...

I'd flip the fuck out...

I'd take great wrestling with bad storylines over bad wrestling with great storylines any day of the week.

After tonight, I think I'd be happy not to see another promo or angle for awhile. Just let the boys wrestle.

But other than tonight RAW hasn't had bad wrestling. The overall wrestling of the whole WWE has improved a lot lately thanks to the great work of Dean Malenko with the cruiserweights and Fit Finlay with the women. Finlay has got the women actually improving their games...then Bisch had to go and make a mud match tonight to hurt that improvement.

Guest BigTim2002

Bisch is the man who conceived the greatest angle in history, you know, so he can book a match with a hot chick who likes to WRESTLE in a mud pit. He's just that damn good.

Sadly, Bisch is right though...no one really cares about women's wrestling. So I can understand doing what they did tonight. And I could maybe even stomach it if Lawler, that prick, didn't annoy me so. But he does. And that's another large part of why I prefer SmackDown to Raw - I cannot frickin' stand Lawler. I don't care how bad Cole and Tazz are, at least I don't go into blind rage when I here them commentate. I'd take Crash over Lawler any day of the week as well.

I agree I feel about ready to shoot Lawler every Monday. It's the same with Velocity. I can't stand how Michael Cole sees fit to make Lloyd his bitch when Cole is the biggest bitch around.

Guest BigTim2002

Where the fuck is Joey Styles when you need him? He'd do just as well as Lawler, or better.

Guest massivHEDtrauma

I actually think Lloyd is much superior to Cole. Cole adds absolutely nill to every match he has ever commentated...he doesn't even have a personality in the least. Everyone else at least has a personality. Cole is just sort of there.

If I'm not mistaken, Joey Styles is making boatloads of money on Wall Street. God he rocked. Hell, speaking of ECW announcing, I'd much prefer the great Joel Gertner to Lawler as well. I miss the Quintessential Studmuffin.

Joey Styles had a try out with the WWE in 2001 but the WWE didn't hire him.

My God they're stupid. Joey Styles was THE MAN. He probably called a splash a pescado and that was it right there, no Joey Styles.

Lawler is in a class by himself. If someone in the women's division suddenly was imbued with magic powers and somehow put on the female equivalent of Flair/Steamboat, he'd still be asking if Molly was a virgin.

Bischoff was right, but it's sad to see them shoot on the division like that (maybe it wasn't intended as a shoot, but it was). Maybe someone would care if they gave a decent try.

Raw is more consistently entertaining than Smackdown. So booya.

Smackdown has better wrestling in a four minute time span, minus the main event. And we get Randy Orton and D-Von. Yeeehaw.

Raw has longer matches, more entertaining wrestlers (not necessarily better), and it has Bischoff.

Raw owns.

For me, SD has been the more consistently entertaining show.

Raw has had a number of very good shows, but when Raw is bad, it's *awful* all around(witness last night). At least when SD is having a bad night, we'll get quality wrestling.

No, Joey Styles decided not to sign a WWE contract, because he didn't like the schedule.

RAW has just as much crap as Smackdown (Dreamer, Show, Bradshaw, Richards, etc.), and the wrestling is not anywhere near the same level. RAW puts on a good show once a month or so, that blows away Smackdown, but the other weeks are horrible. I don't watch wrestling for storylines. I watch it for wrestling. Besides, I'm not sure anyone can deny that Velocity kicks Heat's ass every week by a wide margin. I could care less if Smackdown just sent two guys out with no story whatsoever, and said wrestle. As long as the wrestling is better than on RAW, Smackdown will be more enjoyable.

I KNOW. He wouldn't shut up during the Fozzy concert. Sometimes its like, come on Jerry, Someone is performing dammit! You don't have to screm "hey JR!" and "JR, do you like rock n' roll?" every two seconds. At JR didn't respond, because he was smart enough to realize that YOU DONT NEED TO DO COMMENTARY DURING A CONCERT. sheesh, Lawler gets on my nerves.

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen

The best commentary teams they could do would be:

Joey Styles and William Regal on RAW

And

Coach and Jim Cornette on SD!
