Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 So what match at Summerslam is everybody most excited to see? And why? I'd have to say for me I'm waiting for Ric Flair/Chris Jericho. I mean it should be good and I think all the vignettes leading up to it have been great. Especially Flair busting up Fozzy last night. So what are you most excited about?
Guest TestKick Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Test/Taker, I'm guaranteeing ***.
Guest Ozymandias Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Flair/Jericho Rey/Angle (PLEASE don't let them fuck this one up)
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Benoit vs. RVD Then to a lesser extent: Angle vs. Rey Jericho vs. Flair Eddy vs. Edge UnAmericans vs. BookDust Man...if it weren't for the two main events and the Taker/Test match... Although the rest looks good to me.
Guest ShooterJay Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 HHH/HBK, guaranteeing ***1/2 Rock/Brock has been hyped so well, I want to see that too. Flair/Jericho should be good also, but unless HHH makes ALL the decisions in WWE now, it's a foregone conclusion.
Guest bob_barron Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Hopefully a Heat match featuring Regal. Other then that- everything sounds pretty damn good
Guest The Electrifyer Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 I'm mostly looking forward to what Angle and Rey are going to do, cuz with them two, you know they'll give it there all. Also, RVD/Benoit and HHH/HBK just because I want to see what HBK has left.
Guest OlympicHeroY2J Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 I know most don't agree with me but it's definitely HBK vs. HHH. I've always been a HUGE HBK fan and every time he reappeared on TV since WrestleMania XIV, I've been waiting for him to wrestle. Finally he does it and it's exciting to see how much he has in him. While it might not rival RVD/Benoit in wrestling ability, I can bet it's gonna be a helluva lot more entertaining than Undertaker/Test. HHH is gonna sell like a champ and HBK is gonna do his best to show that, though he's been out for 4 years, he's still got it. Say what you want about his leg hitting the rope during the plancha yesterday, but just the effort that he did it with, considering no one expected it, makes me expect this match to be good. I see this being the Best WWE PPV since WrestleMania X-7
Guest Anglesault Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 No, Bob, I say the heat main event is "The Crippler" D-Lo Brownand That Big Bad Texan Bradshaw vs. That's not just apathy, that's not just heatless, that's Justin Difference! and Poor, Poor Raven
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Jericho/Flair but I know they'll screw it up. It's sad seeing Jericho just go throught he motions in his matches now when in 2000 he actually seemed motivated. *shakes head*
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 On one hand I look forward to Jericho vs. Flair... but Flair vs. Eddy sucked a big one... and Jericho is no Eddy.
Guest TestKick Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 I also think they should add a Trish vs Molly Bra and Panties Mud Wrestling match. BTW, after Test beats Taker at SS... he then challenges RVD for the IC Title on Raw, and Test wins by DQ via interference by the Island Boyz, and Big Slow... thus making RVD look like more of a pussy.
Guest Downhome Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Jericho/Flair but I know they'll screw it up. It's sad seeing Jericho just go throught he motions in his matches now when in 2000 he actually seemed motivated. *shakes head* In defense to Jericho, WWE hasn't really done anything to motivate him SINCE '00. Yes he got the title back in December, but since WM, what have they done to truly motivate him? As for this topic... ...I'm looking forward to Angle/Rey, Benoit/RVD, and Jericho/Flair for obvious reasons. I am looking forward to HBK/HHH however, just out of curriosity in regards as to just what the hell will come from that match.
Guest Downhome Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 I also think they should add a Trish vs Molly Bra and Panties Mud Wrestling match. For even suggesting that, you have lost just a bit of respect from me. Seriously, I hope you were joking.

Yes he got the title back in December, but since WM, what have they done to truly motivate him? Oh, I agree. But his ring work has been getting sloppy as hell as of February. It hasn't gotten any better. That bothers me more than anything. But yeah, it isn't like he's actually getting time to wrestle on TV or anything, so I guess I'm judging him unfairly. We shall see at SS.

I can't wait for the match, as it has potential, quite a bit of potential.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Eddy v. Edge: Yes. I mark for Eddy, and Edge is OK in my book Benoit v. RVD: Hell yes. 2 of my favs Flair v. Jericho Hell yes. 2 more of my favs HBK v. Huge Heatless Hack: Nah. I'll make a sandwich instead Rock v. Mr. Minnesota: Kinda. The way that they've built to it w/o them fighting is good. I can't decide who's winning, either. UnAm's v. BookDust: This is a sleeper Match of the Night. I like everyone in the match, so yes. Test v. Undertaker: The less said about this shit the better. My prediction: Kane-ference, and we get Taker/Kane v. Un Americans. Kurt v. Rey: Two more of my favorites, I'm REALLY looking forward to this.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Brock/Rock: This match has touched my curiousity a bit in how they plan out the match. Benoit/RVD: I don't care at all for this match even though I like Benoit. Jericho/Flair: The match may not suck, but man, will it be heatless... I'm mildly looking forward to it. Un-Americans/BookDust: Should be decent, but the match just seems like a forgone conclusion for the champs though. I'm mildly looking forward to it. Test/Taker: I'm interested in seeing whether they do the right thing(Test goes over to make the Canadians look stronger) or the obvious thing(Taker destroys everyone and wins). Edge/Eddy: FUCK YEAH! Given at least 10 minutes, this match could be good. Rey/Angle: Curious to see if Kurt can hang with someone like Rey. I highly doubt it, but we'll see. HBK/HHH: Don't give a damn at all. The only way this is any good is if Trips can work miracles.
Guest Dangerous A Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 I don't feel Jericho/Flair is gonna be good at all.Just my gut feeling. Total styles clash and I don't see Flair keeping up with Jericho very well. I am setting my expectations for this the same as HHH/HBK. Very low.
Guest bob_barron Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 I think Flair and Jericho will work well together-should be good
Guest Austin3164life Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 IMO, Flair vs. Jericho has gotten the best buildup out of any match heading into the Summer's biggest pay per view. With Jericho's awesome return to Raw, and Flair getting back at him with chairshots and destorying Fozzy equipment, it's really unfolding well as a legend who wants to put the younger guy in his place, and an established superstar wanting to dethrone the legend.
Guest Olympic Slam Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 I'm looking forward to everything (hopefully I'll get to see it). Heck, I'm even pretty excited about the Raven vs. D'lo match that will probably end up as the Heat main event. The tag match and the Taker match don't exactly get my blood rushing, but at least they wont be as bad as Taker/Kane vs. DDP/Kanyon from last Summerslam. Yeeeee-uck!
Guest SlowChemical6 Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 I'm looking forward to 'em all, but especially HHH vs. HBK and Test vs. Taker.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 CAn I change your title to "backwards boy"
Guest midnight_burn Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 RVD/Benoit, Eddy/Edge and Mysterio/Angle all have me excited about Summerslam. The Tag Title match too. As for the rest of the card, eh... i live in hope the rest will be at least decent.
Guest converge241 Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 its hard to pick because im actually anticipating every match (i have only said that once before.. Starrcade 97..*sigh* look how that turned out though). I guess Rock-Brock i want to see if they can pull off the match that really cements Brock
Guest CanadianChris Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 I'm excited that I won't be shelling out thirty-five bucks to see it. The buildup was THAT bad.
Guest chirs3 Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 No, Bob, I say the heat main event is "The Crippler" D-Lo Brown and That Big Bad Texan Bradshaw vs. That's not just apathy, that's not just heatless, that's Justin Difference! and Poor, Poor Raven. Best. Tagline. Ever.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Summer Slam 2002 has a shot a being what WM X-8 should have been.
