Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 This recently appeared on 411wrestling.com: WWE has put up the card for the August 26th (day after Summerslam) Smackdown house show in New Haven, CT. The card features Chris Benoit facing John Cena, however, the match is not listed as an Intercontinental Title match. This could indicate that Benoit will lose the belt to Rob Van Dam at Summerslam, or it could simply be WWE not listing the potential results. Thoughts?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 I bet either way this signifies plans for a future Benoit/Cena feud after Summerslam. BOOOOOOO
Guest Anglesault Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Haha! Benoit gets Cena! ::remembers that there is a strong possibility that Angle gets to play Edge's JOB boy YET AGAIN:: Oh fuck, why does the WWF hate us?
Guest the pinjockey Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 so that would give us Benoit/Cena Edge/Angle and RVD/ Raw IC Heel (Big Show, Test, HHH) or RVD/Jericho which means the rest of Raw sucks big time.
Guest Downhome Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 I can see no reason at all for the IC title to go back to RAW, period.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 This is totally off-topic but, Downhome I mark for all those guy as well, but what about Vader?
Guest ISportsFan Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 This is my biggest fear. Benoit NEEDS the win, Smackdown NEEDS the IC title, and RVD can afford the loss because he's so undeniably over. But, it would just totally suck for Benoit to lose and the IC belt to go back to Raw. So, they might do it. Just to spite me. Jason
Guest TestKick Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Haha! Benoit gets Cena! ::remembers that there is a strong possibility that Angle gets to play Edge's JOB boy YET AGAIN:: Oh fuck, why does the WWF hate us? Angle-Brock is more likely. This is my biggest fear. Benoit NEEDS the win, Smackdown NEEDS the IC title, and RVD can afford the loss because he's so undeniably over. To be honest, if you're not a smark, Benoit-RVD means nothing because it has had no buildup... so, I don't think it hurts Benoit, at all. If Benoit was really getting buried, he wouldn't have won the IC Title again in the 1st place.

Guest cabbageboy Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 I think they need to get creative with this one. RVD has essentially nothing to do on Raw right now. A feud with HHH won't help him a damn bit, a feud with Test is dullsville, a feud with Big Tool is borderline torture. So I say he should defect to SMDN via one of these ways: 1. Jobs to Benoit and Bischoff gets pissed at him, then they construct a plan for RVD to defect to SMDN, chase Benoit and win the title back, then defect back to Raw. 2. RVD wins at SS but it is revealed Steph double crossed Bischoff with those papers and the IC champ--regardless of who it is--will be on SMDN. RVD will then have to go to SMDN. How's that sound?
Guest CanadianChick Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 They can't lose talent from Raw...they don't have enough as it is.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 I think having him feud and defeat HHH in the blowoff would be the best way to go with RVD.
Guest Austin3164life Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Chris Benoit is keeping the title extending their ppv feud. Benoit is going to win similar to how he won it in the first place.
Guest cabbageboy Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 "I think having him feud and defeat HHH in the blowoff would be the best way to go with RVD." BWHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA! Like that is going to happen.
