Guest GameCop Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 By combining the elements of King of the Ring, the Survivor Series (elimination rules), and the brutal Wargames, you have a concept that is destined to be a hit!!! Here's what I think should happen on Nov. 17 (Survivor Series) Take the following as an example: 1st Bracket: - "Cheaters Who Prosper" (HHH/EddyG/Regal/Nowinski) vs. "Showstoppers" (HBK/RVD/Mysterio/J.Hardy) 2nd Bracket: - "Glitz & Glamour" (Rock/Hogan/Flair/Goldust) vs. "Really Big Things" (Lesnar/Kane/Rikishi/Show) 3rd Bracket: - "Submission Specialists" (Angle/Y2J/Benoit/Storm) vs. " Rebellious Rookies" (Maven/Cena/Orton/Batista) 4th Bracket: - "Texas' Finest" (Austin/Taker/BookerT/Bradshaw) vs. "Spear-Bearers" (Goldberg/Edge/Rhyno/Christian) Ok, now the winning team from the 1st Bracket will square off against the winning team from the 2nd Bracket; for the purpose of this discussion, let's say that "Glitz & Glamour" and the "Showstoppers" advance to face each other in the second round. Furthermore, let's say that the "Submission Specialists" and "Texas' Finest" advance from the 3rd and 4th brackets to face each other in the second round. The winning teams from the second round (let's say "Showstoppers" and "Submission Specialists") will square off in the ultimate battle: WARGAMES. If put to use by WWE, this concept will accentuate the importance of 'team chemistry' and bring new life back to the jaded, hackneyed Survivor Series concept. Questions, comments ?!
Guest kane3212321 Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Showstoppers (I'd swtich HBK with kidman or hurricane) vs. Submission Specialists would be incredible as a Wargames. Those matches themselves would be good and in the second round Glitz and Glamour vs. Show Stoppers and Spear Bearers vs. Submission Specialsts would be very good matches also
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 *notes the mysterious non-appearance of Angle and Brock* *praying smile*
Guest Dangerous A Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 I love this fantasy booking scenario. Unfortunately the 1st and 2nd round matches will have to be cut short due to the winning teams having to work 2-3 times in one night, culminating in one of the most brutal matches ever devised, War Games. Good suggestion though. Just a tad unrealistic.
Guest SlowChemical6 Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Not to be the spoiler, but somebody really needs to tell GameCop to keep his fantasies in the Fantasy Booking forum.
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Well normally I'd agree, but seeing as this is referring to an idea about an upcoming PPV, I'd let it slide If he was trying to turn KOR into something, then I could see the pointlessness, but he's using a couple popular ideas on tandem to illustrate what it might be like
Guest SlowChemical6 Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Well, November 17th certainly is "upcoming"...
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 look around, theres been a TON of posts about using WarGames as a gimmick for Survivor Series, I've seen more than a few in the last couple days.
Guest GameCop Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 Well normally I'd agree, but seeing as this is referring to an idea about an upcoming PPV, I'd let it slide If he was trying to turn KOR into something, then I could see the pointlessness, but he's using a couple popular ideas on tandem to illustrate what it might be like Thanks For The Comment! Finally someone agrees with me! ~I am so sick and tired of people saying that my posts don't make sense and they are in the wrong section!
Guest the pinjockey Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 "- "Submission Specialists" (Angle/Y2J/Benoit/Storm) vs. " Rebellious Rookies" (Maven/Cena/Orton/Batista)" Wow that should be a squash if I ever saw one. I like the general concept. Just a quick question though. What is the point? What would they be fighting for? What would be the motive for someone not going after a title or something along those lines?
Guest GameCop Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 Take this scenario: Prior to Survivor Series, the WWE title is vacated. The members of the winning team will battle each other at the end of the night, or the next night on RAW in a 4-way; the winner will become the NEW WWE champion. Consequently, the members of each team will feel compelled to colloborate and ultimately win the tournament, because if victorious, they will be able to battle each other for the ultimate prize in sports entertainment.
Guest GameCop Posted August 24, 2002 Report Posted August 24, 2002 If WWE doesn't utilize WARGAMES, they can always use a new, and improved Hell in a Cell!
Guest GameCop Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 WWE needs to eradicate the brand extension and follow my ideas if they want the best SURVIVOR SERIES EVER!!!
Guest Brian Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 No they don't. The brand extension is fine and giving up titles is even worse than title switches on the fly.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 You're assuming A LOT of things for this to come to fruition, such as: -Austin returning -Rock returning -Hogan returning -HBK to wrestle in a Survivor Series match -Goldberg to be signed ...all within a month and a half. OK.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 HHH's match at Survivor Series will be him in a handicap match facing RVD, Booker T, Chris Jericho, beating all three in under 10 minutes pedigrees. I also have a feeling HHH will go over Brock to become the Undisputed champion, and have the claim to being the first Undisputed champ instead of Jericho, hoping we all forget the "old" undisputed title.
