Guest BoboBrazil Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 Last night's edition of Smackdown scored a 3.6 broadcast rating, with an 6 share, according to Nielsen Media Research. That is up from last week's 3.5 and continues the recent upward ratings trend for WWE. 1wrestling.com
Guest jimmy no nose Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 I predicted 3.7 I think. Close enough.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 I predicted 3.6, and I was right on the money! Woohoo! On a side note, it is nice that the ratings are going up.
Guest Bricks Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 And I think we all know why. FUNAKI!!!
Guest ISportsFan Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 Two Funaki appearances = rating increases. Two Benoit main events & one Eddy main = rating increases. Lots of cruiserweight action = rating increases. Heyman's booking = rating increases. Man, lots of goodness abound. Jason
Guest Will Scarlet Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 I totally agree, Bricks. Funaki = ratings.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 well thereseems to be an upturn in ratings now
Guest goodhelmet Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 good!!! Sd (from what i saw) was rock fucking solid! hell, even RAw has some direction even though the wrestling has been mediocre. Now, if they just stay on this path....
Guest redbaron51 Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 that was the first smackdown in a while that i really enjoyed through out the whole show
Guest godthedog Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 i wouldn't call it rock solid, but overall it was a good show, with a women's match that was WAY more awesome than it had any right to be. nidia IS ricky steamboat! okay, she's not. but all the quick pin attempts added excitement & helped to tell an actual story. benoit, rocky & company were off by a LITTLE tonight, but not by much. and the rock killing benoit's finisher after building it up so well really pissed me off. and if i didn't know any better, i'd say they were trying to build up a rock/benoit program. but, of course, i do know better, & brock will get the title before benoit gets a shot.
Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 That sounds good with the rating going up due to better wrestling on the show last night, even with Benoit and Guerrero being booked to brawl too much in the main-event, though at least the psychology on The Rock's ribs was there.
Guest FakeRazor Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 See Vince? You don't need "quick fixes" like the nWo, Hogan or Goldberg... all you need is GOOD TV.
Guest Storm Tracker Posted August 24, 2002 Report Posted August 24, 2002 Overall an excellent show. The only spot that I didn't care for was The Rock/Edge promo. It seems to me that Brock's mic skills are starting to improve each week. I love watching Eddie and Benoit. There's nothing I like better than when they stomp a mud hole in Edge. I enjoyed the Molly vs. Nidia match. 2 Count vs. Jamie Noble/Tajiri was good, even with Matt Hardy trying to steal the spotlight at the end. Smackdown is on the right track again, I just hope there aren't some more roster changes that screw things up again.
