Guest HartFan86 Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 Will we have a new champ tonight? If Yes, who will beat him: My Answer: I'm leaning towards No, but HBK winning could happen. How about you?
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 *Disclaimer: This time, I'm serious.* ..let's go HHH~!
Guest Anglesault Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 Well, HHH did lose last night, and he won't be satisfied with just killing Shawn after the match...
Guest Mad Dog Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 I would really doubt it. They've been building Brock up huge for this title win. I mean they fed Hogan to him and Hogan's never been fed to anyone. And while it might pop ratings I doubt HBK has the physical ability to wrestle more than a few more matches. They won't waste the last 4 months worth of build though.
Guest -Cutthroat- Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 That fat walrus Paul Heyman will go around with Brock and do suff, or something. Mini-dust will do the jobbing tonight.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 Lesnar won't job until Wrestlemania 19, you just watch.
Guest CanadianHorseman Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 Let's hope not. I hope they give Brock a nice long run culminating in Angle beating him for the title at next year's Royal Rumble.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 Let's hope not. I hope they give Brock a nice long run culminating in Angle beating him for the title at next year's Royal Rumble. Yay! 5 months of sub-par main events! It's like 1995 all over again!
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 Will we have a new champ tonight? If Yes, who will beat him: My Answer: I'm leaning towards No, but HBK winning could happen. How about you? No. Way. And HBK? Are you crazy? It was bad enough Rock had the belt for a month and never defended it (save for SS), but there's no way they would put the belt on HBK, a man who just had his 1st match in *years*, and is (despite his performance last night) realistically 1 messed-up bump away from being paralyzed.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 I have to reiterate my point that there is no one that they could pit against Brock to make me want to part with 35 bucks. Not even Angle. So we are in full on WCW mode...with a "let's wait and see what the far more talented and deserving midcard wrestlers are doing"
Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 No. Not only no, but hell no.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 I doubt he will job tonight. It would seem silly to build him up for months than just have him job one day into his title reign. Of course, it is the WWE, so I would not put it past them.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 I have to reiterate my point that there is no one that they could pit against Brock to make me want to part with 35 bucks. Well, I see Brock/Kane, Brock/Edge, Brock/Taker, and maybe Brock/HHH. May God help us all.
Guest Downhome Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 It was bad enough Rock had the belt for a month and never defended it (save for SS)... Well, he didn't truly defend the belt even at Summerslam, not succesfully anyway. :D I have to reiterate my point that there is no one that they could pit against Brock to make me want to part with 35 bucks. Not even Angle. So we are in full on WCW mode...with a "let's wait and see what the far more talented and deserving midcard wrestlers are doing" I would pay $35 to see ONLY Brock/Angle, IF they actually allowed both guys to go out there and do their high spots as well as work the mat, ie, a wrestling match.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 So we are in full on WCW mode...with a "let's wait and see what the far more talented and deserving midcard wrestlers are doing" Or, as I like to call it, watching Smack Down!
Guest Anglesault Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 I'd pay 35 fro Brock/Angle if they made it perfectly clear that Angle would ebat, humiliate and retire Lesnar
Guest Anglesault Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 While all these *ahem, deserving* main eventers are fighting for the title, what will Eddy, Angle Benoit or RVD going to do? Fight for the IC title that is below all of them?
Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 I can see your point, but would you really rather they were all fed to Porkchop?
Guest Anglesault Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 I can see your point, but would you really rather they were all fed to Porkchop? How about one of them (Angle) you know, BEATS Lesnar? Like Today. Now. Yesterday if possible. Or maybe Lesnar never gets the belt, and Rocky loses it to Angle?
Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 Ah, quit 'yer bitchin'; at least Angle's not jobbing to Test, or something (yet)... Truth be told, I'd rather see Angle as champion than Lesnar myself, but he did get a pretty good reaction, so I'm at least willing to wait until he gets out of NY (maybe even his first PPV as champ) before passing sentence.

It's WWE. HBK has tons of backstage power and I bet Vince would listen to him too if he said he wanted to belt. Should he win it? Fuck no, he's past is prime.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 Yeah, that's my favorite part. He FINALLY gets a reaction the night he wins the title, almost to late. Damn, I HATE Brock, and I hope this title reign dies a slow and horrible death, so Brock can be sent back to OVW
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 The worst part is... the WWE gets blasted for having the same people in the main all the time... and now they have someone new (Although they didn't actually choose off the list that people wanted) so they can just stick the regular main eventers in with him and call it new. I'd say the odds that they move someone else up to be a serious challenger are quite slim. They may move some people up to feed to him...but that's not quite the same thing.

I would hope Vince would have the good sense to not listen to HBK if he suggests that. But you're right, it *is* Vince...
Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 AS, do you believe in the use of new talent at all? As near as I can tell, the last "new" wrestler you professed anything more positive than total disinterest in was Kurt Angle. Do you think that all the same guys who were around in 1999 should be the only guys at the top now? If so, why, and, if not, who do you like that debuted after November 1999 (i.e., after Kurt Angle)?

That's absolutely brillaint logic, why didnt i ever think of that

Yes, I belive in new TALENT. Not Brock Lesnar And debuted in the WWF or debut in wrestling since 1999?
Guest CanadianHorseman Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 AS, I'm surprised that you would disagree with me so quickly. I said that Kurt would become the champion after Brock is built up as a monster. You see, then Kurt would be over HUGE and you would be one happy mark. Doesn't that make sense?
