Guest converge241 Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 So Raw cant get any more title shots or use Brock? okay so Brock's opponents for the next few months: Angle (okay so far so good) Benoit (still ok) Edge (hmm might not be ready yet) umm Rikishi? Billy and Chuck in a handicap match? Funaki? i can just see the promos now for Brock-Rikishi: they further delve into Brock's intense training, and then show Rikishi, backing that truck up to the hostess factory to pick up the twinkie supply and jamming sparring partners heads into his giant ass crack, and at the local night club busting a move..or the floor, whichever comes first.
Guest art_vandelay Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 I don't see how Brock's case is any different from the other wrestlers. Besides, who knows if they'll keep the belt on him that long. Somewhere down the line he may even switch sides and become Raw-exclusive.
Guest converge241 Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 in general though..isnt it a bad idea? Its confusing people who have a hard enough time keeping up with the "rules" of the split as it is.
Guest art_vandelay Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 Well, the rules are confusing as it is. I mean, they just put 2 titles out of existence in the last 2 months. Wrestlers jumping from show to show each week is confusing too. At this point, I don't think the confusion that may come from Lesnar being SD-exclusive is that big of a deal. In general, I don't think it's a bad idea. I'm not sure if it's a good idea yet, but at this point I don't think it's bad. It gives SD one more exclusive and I think Raw will do something big next week to make up for the loss.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 I figure Angle is first up since he wanted a shot at Lesnar before but had to have that match with Hogan. If we get past Unforgiven, I figure Hogan comes back and gets a match. And if we get that far, god knows. I cant see the WWE being able to sell Edge or Benoit vs Lesnar.
Guest razazteca Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 Benoit vs Lesnar could be sold as The Next Big Thing vs Rabid Wolverine. With Benoit as the man who fears nothing and will never back down from a fight, as he will hit 10 suplexes then ripoff the heads of his opponets. As for Edge I don't know how that will be hyped, since I don't think a Spear from Edge will be believable against a 300lb monster. Maybe in a Ladder Match or something, which could have Lesnar do the SSP off a ladder to retain the title.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 If they feed Kurt Angle to Porkchop, Stephanie McMahon better take out a restraining order on me.
Guest Brian Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 The best thing to come of this is two different champions. The WWE can put up two world title calibre matches on each pay per view.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 Well, considering that one MUST feature Brock, and the other will probably have HHH or Taker, is that really a good thing?
Guest Brian Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 I'd rather have a fresh champion. Brock at least seems to be a competent worker, though still green. He bumps nicely, sells decently, and has some upside. Once you get over the bitterness that he has the world title, he starts to grow on you.
Guest The Camel Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 As long as Lesner and Angle are kept at arm's lenght from eachother, I'm happy. They don't need to blow their wad on that feud for Brock's first few ppv title matches. It needs to be special... like Survivor Series, RR, or even Wrestlemania... Only decision is who will turn face.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 He bumps nicely, sells decently Has horrible matches, got the title before he was over. . Once you get over the bitterness that he has the world title, he starts to grow on you. Yeah, he'll grow on me. Like a wart
Guest Brian Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Who has he had to wrestle against to have good matches with? How is he supposed to get seasoned? Until summerslam he hadn't had a quality opponent. He'll fit fine in the WWE main event style. so how is he supposed to showcase anything
Guest jester Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 They probably sent him to Smackdown because most of the guys who can carry people are there. They probably think he can get carried, look good, and maybe learn something.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Well, considering that one MUST feature Brock, and the other will probably have HHH or Taker, is that really a good thing? Let's just pretend Kurt has the title here for a minute then. Who do you want him to feud with? There's got to be another man.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Who has he had to wrestle against to have good matches with? RVD. Ric Flair. Booker T. Let's just pretend Kurt has the title here for a minute then. Who do you want him to feud with? There's got to be another man. Booker or RVD
Guest Brian Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Aside from Flair, he's not going to get much out of them. Booker s good but he has some bad tendencies that tend to come out in his matches. RVD's also good when it comes to selling and bumping but can you expect him to actually help Brock learn to work. Can you expect any of these guys to help Angle attain to the same levels when Angle didn't start getting really good until he was working with Austin and had the series with Benoit, and had worked with Rock and Jericho. Asider from Flair, and facing the state he is in, Brock hasn't had an opponent near that calibre.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Solution: Don't give him the title.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Solution: Don't give him the title. Too late for that...
Guest Anglesault Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 And I will bitch, complain, and demand for them to take the title off of him until they do.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Why? they aren't gonna listen to you, better off saving your breath, right? I pity Lesnar more than dislike him
Guest Anglesault Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Blows off steam. I really am a happy person in real life.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Glad to hear it... I shall also blow off steam at the misuse of Benoit, Jericho, Angle, Guerrero, Booker. AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! phew...
