Guest Y2DAYDAY Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Okay. At least there are a few objective people on this board. This will be detailed and very clear. First off, the early plan for Wrestlemania is Lesnar vs Angle with Angle as the babyface. Hence, all of those bitching about Angle not getting the shot now should shut up. That would be hotshotting. The Angle face turn needs to be built right, and then the quest for the strap needs to be built right. You have to keep HHH strong right now since he is #1 heel on RAW(Lesnar is #1 heel on Smackdown). Out of the big 4 and only current tippety top guys (HHH,Brock,Taker,Angle), HHH is the only one on RAW. Plus in story, he just got his ass beat by a cripple who had not wrestled for 4 years. Jobbing HHH to Lesnar right now is dumb. Which leaves Edge, RVD, Kane, Booker, or Taker to feed to Lesnar. Notice I said feed because that is exactly what is going to happen. Undertaker is going to be fed to Brock Lesnar. The other 4 besides Taker are going to be 4 of the top 5 babyfaces in the company at this point, with Angle soon being the fifth so squashing them right now doesn't benefit anyone. So who is established, will not be hurt by the loss since he is already established, etc. Undertaker is. Out of all of the options, he is the best choice to be fed to Lesnar. And if they were smart, they'd put HHH in there and make it a 3 way to improve match quality. Meltzer says they are going 1 on 1 though. Which leaves HHH as the RAW #1 contender to feud with Booker, Kane, or RVD, and it is apparent that is going to be RVD. So RVD gets to be in a main event match at the next PPV. No doubt he is doing the job but HHH needs a win bad, plus the feud is over if RVD wins so HHH going over is a necessity. So guys, there is a reason for everything that is being booked the way it is right now. Also, as another poster here said, expect Angle to go to RAW.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Brock is NOT the tope heel on Smackdown. Sorry, uh uh. That would be ANGLE. By the way, I LOOOOVE The spoiler warning.
Guest AM The Kid Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 What do you mean Undertaker is on Smackdown? You just ruined it for me!!!
Guest evenflowDDT Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Why are you talking about 'Taker like he's on Smackdown? Also, HHH doesn't "need" a win over RVD to establish anything, because even though he "just lost to a cripple" (and anyone who saw that match knows HBK is NO cripple so there goes that storyline), he's still in the main event when RVD isn't. Also, don't forget that HHH is the ONLY strong heel in the company right now, with the possible exception of Lesnar, but I guarantee if Lesnar keeps getting face pops he won't be heel for very long.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 but I guarantee if Lesnar keeps getting face pops he won't be heel for very long. One shot deal. Lesnar goes back to being heatless as soon as he gets out of heel-friendly NY.

Lesnar goes back to being heatless as soon as he gets out of heel-friendly NY. So you think starting next week we'll be hearing "We Want Rocky!" chants? How much longer is WWE in New York anyway? Was Smackdown taped at MSG or in the New York area too or just RAW?
Guest Anglesault Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 I don't think SD was in the Garden. could have been in Jersey, though.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 I don't think SD was in the Garden. could have been in Jersey, though. Connecticut
Guest Anglesault Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Hartford Civic Center? I almost went to NWO 2000 there.
Guest creativename Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 AAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!! It sucks to be spoiled! I'm not mad at the guy, accidents happen. But still! Could a mod please edit the title to this thread, so that other unsuspecting posters don't get SmackDown! spoiled?
Guest jester Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 "First off, the early plan for Wrestlemania is Lesnar vs Angle with Angle as the babyface. Fans might not accept it and continue to chant "You suck" with his music. They need to reinvent his character. "You have to keep HHH strong right now since he is #1 heel on RAW(Lesnar is #1 heel on Smackdown). Out of the big 4 and only current tippety top guys (HHH,Brock,Taker,Angle), HHH is the only one on RAW." See point above about spoilers. "Plus in story, he just got his ass beat by a cripple who had not wrestled for 4 years. Jobbing HHH to Lesnar right now is dumb." I'd say they should be kept apart because neither guy is really clearly a face or a heel. Brock is getting some face pops (though if he continues to do so remains to be seen). HHH has only changed slightly. He continues to insult other heels, include Brock and Jericho, and hasn't changed anything about himself, except the beard. If they want him to be a heel, he can't still do the water posing Motorhead shit. Until one guy clearly gets some kind of clear heat one way or the other, keep them apart. "Which leaves Edge, RVD, Kane, Booker, or Taker to feed to Lesnar. Notice I said feed because that is exactly what is going to happen. Undertaker is going to be fed to Brock Lesnar." Lesnar did a run in during the HHH/Taker match. He got on the ring apron, and one punch from Undertaker backed him off. With this as a start, I don't think he'll get a clean, decisive win. I hope he does, but I won't hold my breath. "The other 4 besides Taker are going to be 4 of the top 5 babyfaces in the company at this point, with Angle soon being the fifth so squashing them right now doesn't benefit anyone. And while this recent Raw match wasn't horrible, the crowd was DEAD. "Meltzer says they are going 1 on 1 though. "Which leaves HHH as the RAW #1 contender to feud with Booker, Kane, or RVD, and it is apparent that is going to be RVD. So RVD gets to be in a main event match at the next PPV. No doubt he is doing the job but HHH needs a win bad, plus the feud is over if RVD wins so HHH going over is a necessity." HHH needs a win bad? Heh. He's not exactly on a jobbing streak like Jericho. He's had one loss which he could easily write off as overestimating HBK's injuries. Prior to his injury, we also had that wonderful stretch where it took about eight guys to cost him a win. HHH can afford to lose. In fact, I think he owes a few clean losses, to be frank. "So guys, there is a reason for everything that is being booked the way it is right now. Also, as another poster here said, expect Angle to go to RAW." Where hopefully HHH will put him over clean. Yep.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Fuck Brock! Benoit & Eddie get more Heel heat then him! #1 heel my ass!
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 "Which leaves HHH as the RAW #1 contender to feud with Booker, Kane, or RVD, and it is apparent that is going to be RVD. CAn someone explain how this makes sense? HHH NEEDS a win? Why? You know...the only upper card person on the roster who has a win over HHH that has gone unavenged is Kane. And he was out injured. HHH needs nothing. HHH beating RVD is what I would call...the worst thing ever. It's just one more person shuffled to the bottom by HHH. Fuck that. And No one gets those wins back from him...so they should avoid this at all costs.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 And can anyone eher stomach a Brock heatless title reign with horrible matches leading all the way TO WRESTLEMANIA?
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 And can anyone eher stomach a Brock heatless title reign with horrible matches leading all the way TO WRESTLEMANIA? Well, it certainly may suck for a while, but he'll probably actually get heat along the way. It's not the best solution, but if Brock IS champ all the way through Wrestlemania, I imagine he'll be way more over than he is at this point. There's so much time before then that it's silly to lose all hope.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 You should be over BEFORE you get the belt, not at some indeterminate time during the reign. Off the top of my head, I can think of at least SIX people who are more over and have better macthes than Brock, but they are going to keep the belt on this lug until he gets over. Insanity.
Guest Kingpk Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Hartford Civic Center? I almost went to NWO 2000 there. No, at Mohegan Sun, a casino.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Hartford Civic Center? I almost went to NWO 2000 there. No, at Mohegan Sun, a casino. They held a show at a CASINO? Holy shit. Anyone else remember the show they did in Penn Sation?
Guest Downhome Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 I still feel people should be banned for spoiling things, without a warning. I don't care if they are too stupid to realize what they are doing, or if they are just being an ass, but I still stand behind my statements... ...ass.
Guest chirs3 Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Feel free to add *spoiler* to the title mods... Damn it...
Guest Anglesault Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 So Downhome, is it as bad as we made it out to be?
Guest Downhome Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 So Downhome, is it as bad as we made it out to be? Please tell me that Taker didn't win that tourny on Smackdown.

Anyone else remember the show they did in Penn Sation? Heh. Didn't Undertaker tombstone HHH on top of an escalator, and then HHH went down the escalator unconsious? They should do that today.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 That incident was at Shotgun Saturday Night.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Yeah that was a great spot. They should do it now. Test big boots Booker on the escalator, but Test doesn't realize it's the "Up" escalator, so it doesn't work. Test throws a tantrum and tells Shane to fire the escalator.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 For once..I'd like some actual answers. I've heard all of this "Shane and Test are friends" stuff for too long now. For all the supposed pushes Test gets, he's never gotten anything like HHH (Steph), Regal (HHH/Austin, I believe) or guys like Albert, Bull (JR). Using a friendship that has no visible effect on TV is just diving for things to pick at a guy about. My question: Is there any proof that Shane's friendship has "helped Test out"?
Guest evenflowDDT Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Yeah that was a great spot. They should do it now. I think it'd be funnier if Test big boots Booker, but since he doesn't realize it's an "Up" escalator Booker T's limp body heads up and trips Test, causing his leather pants to get stuck in the top of the elevator. Even without the ending, just seeing someone trip over someone they big booted onto an escalator would be hilarious
Guest HossSauce Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 And can anyone eher stomach a Brock heatless title reign with horrible matches leading all the way TO WRESTLEMANIA? Brock is not heatless. I guess you must have missed SummerSlam. Brock being heatless was a stupid Internet-created myth from the start. He ALWAYS had heat. Maybe a few select arenas were quiet, but in those cases they were quiet for everything.
Guest The Ruthless Aggressor Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 A select few? The crowds were so indifferent to him that he couldn't get as much as a groan.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 No no no. He had heat because he was facing a guy the fans were pissed with. You could have had Justin Credible in there against Rock and had the same amount of heat. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
