Guest BionicRedneck Posted August 31, 2002 Report Posted August 31, 2002 After watching SmackDown/Raw this week, The Undertaker proved himself to be an absolute disgrace. After slapping Lesnar around like a bitch, he proceded to have a dreadful match with HHH. On SmackDown he was put over by the two best wrestler on the show, and didn't tap, when they had him in their respective submissions at the same time. All this wouldn't be so bad if he wasnt the No.1 contender. He is gonna wrestle Brock in a match that is no doubt gonna suck. Not only that but Taker doesn't even draw anymore. So, surely Mean Mark is gonna put Brock over, right?(even though he won't lose clean, and never really puts anyone over-don't be fooled by that Jeff Hardy crap) Anyway, who would you guys like to see as the Number 1 contender for the Undisputed Title?
Guest Vitamin X Posted August 31, 2002 Report Posted August 31, 2002 Who *I* would want to see: Jericho Who is a good idea for the business: Angle
Guest NoCash Posted August 31, 2002 Report Posted August 31, 2002 What the WWE needs is someone who has an badass attitude who the fans connect with ALONG with the ability to put on good matches. Anyone who says that match quality is unimportant should see why Undertaker and HHH bombed as champs. I think a babyface Angle could do it. Booker T could probably do it as well. And if Beniot could connect with the general audience better, he would be great for the main event.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted August 31, 2002 Report Posted August 31, 2002 I really thought they were going for a Benoit/Brock but Benoit is a heel and so is Angle so the heat would be nonexistent. Just with that seeet ass Benoit video I thought maybe it was his month....
Guest Downhome Posted August 31, 2002 Report Posted August 31, 2002 Kurt Angle, no questions asked. I can't express my hatred for what happend on SD. Right when I thought WWE had FINALLY realized what the fans would really love (I mean, damn, they had a Benoit/Angle match going on for the #1 contender!), they go and f*ck everything up once again, woo-f'n-hoo. Another thing... ...how could they go and do that, after they built up the entire show around the small tourny? Taker wasn't in it, but Steph just GIVES him the "honor" to be in that match? Damnit, I'm sure that didn't just piss off us internet fans. I just don't see how they could go and do that, it's almost like they were actually TRYING to piss everyone off.
Guest RickyChosyu Posted August 31, 2002 Report Posted August 31, 2002 The entire tourniment was just a waste of time, anyway. It literally appeared like they were making it up as they went along, and it showed. What exactly does "series" mean? One guy faces another guy, and then gets to fight a fresh guy after that? How is that fair in any way? What structure is there? I hope Steph falls into the toilet and drowns.
Guest HossSauce Posted August 31, 2002 Report Posted August 31, 2002 I hope that there are some "contents" in that toilet.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted August 31, 2002 Report Posted August 31, 2002 I hope Steph falls into the toilet and drowns. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That was a corker! Thats headed for my sig...
Guest NoCash Posted August 31, 2002 Report Posted August 31, 2002 Unfortunately some people like it. I was talking to a couple co-workers and they were really happy that Taker won. But somehow I think they're the minority. Unless the ratings shot up all of a sudden.
Guest Downhome Posted August 31, 2002 Report Posted August 31, 2002 The only good that came out of if is that we now don't have to worry about Kane/Taker feud/asociation #999999999999999 now, at least for a little while.
Guest RickyChosyu Posted August 31, 2002 Report Posted August 31, 2002 Well, ratings for that show weren't hot, by any means, but it was delayed in some markets so I'm sure Taker will have that excuse. I can stand the guy if he's just a top card attaction who doesn't go near the title, but for the love of God, why in the hell is he getting near it? I guess it's to legitamize Brock.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted August 31, 2002 Report Posted August 31, 2002 I hope Steph falls into the toilet and drowns. She has her own floatation device.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 Honestly... The #1 contender can't win the title...or else Brock is dead... so I wouldn't want it to be RVD or Angle...cause they can actualy be used later. Jericho doesn't need to job anymore... HHH and Taker would result in terrible matches. Booker T vs. Brock was aweful the one time they did it...and I can't see why that would change. And it has to be a face... so... My official pick for #1 contender is: ... ... Oh...wait... There is no one else. Edge I guess.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 People I'm not willing to sacrifice to Brock: Angle, Jericho, RVD, Booker, Benoit, Eddy. People I do not want to see face Brock: HHH, Taker, Edge. Pick someone from the remaining superstars, I guess.
Guest OctoberBlood Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 I would really like to see a main event of Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, and Brock Lesnar in a good ol' Fatal Four Way for the World Championship. Wouldn't that just be tremendous? Ah yes, it would.
Guest Brian Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 Do you know what I actually liked. There was an idea in the Torch that Brock would only defend against each challenger once. He doesn't shoot through a bunch of challengers getting stale, and it comes off to the fans as not being a fighting champion. I miss Austin.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 Who I want? RVD, Angle..or even Eddy Guerrero. Those guys have busted their ass to keep the company going the last few months. Benoit just got back, and dosen't have the charisma a world champ should. Jericho's been too torn down to hold the belt, and needs rebuilt.

So, if Brock were to hole the belt til WM, he would go over every big name in the company (Probably not getting him over), leaving a thrilling Brock/Bob Holly match.

Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 Belive it or not, I think Taker's a good choice. NOTE: this does not mean that I in any way condone watching Benoit and Angle tear each other in half only to be rolled over by that big jello mold. That said, whoever is the challenger this month will be mearly Brock fodder, nothing more. Ever since Taker came back to fuck up that bad ass Iron Man match, he's had a living legend push around him. The infamous Taker, dead man walking, over a decade of competition, can walk the top rope for a few steps provided his opponent holds his fucking hand, etc. Will Brock/Taker be awful like you guys all seem to think? No. It will be even worse. It will be fucking awful. But in the end, Taker will be ground up by the Lesnar push. Meanwhile, our favorites will be free to do crazy shit to eachother like German suplexes, super arm breakers, Gory specials, split legged moonsaults. Untill next month anyway.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 Come on. Aside from the lack of overness and shitty matches, Brock also doesn't have the stamina to keep. up. People say tha Angle got winded quick last year, but that is NOTHING compeared to Brock who is dead after Mark Henry matches.
Guest Brian Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 You expect him to hold the belt that long? There's six shows between WrestleMania and Summerslam. I would be surprised if they don't find some of new name to go over Brock at WrestleMania; of the current roster I'd imagine either Edge, a face turned Angle, or they'd bring in the Rock. I also would not be surprised if they used Austin in reserve or even Goldberg knowing the WWE. At Unforgiven, they have Undertaker lined up. Five shows. Using the combined rosters. they have right now Edge, Michaels, Booker T, and RVD as top faces. They could, if needed turn either Benoit, Guerrero, Jericho, or Angle. they could always bring in Hogan. Flair could be used at Rumble which is generall a throw-away show. There's a lot of possibilities.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 I'd probably turn Benoit and/or Jericho face and feed them to Brock after the Taker feud is over with and then build-up maybe Angle as Lesnar's big opponent for Survivor Series and have him go over Brock.
