I was reading OVW's website and came across this quote in the news about their show last night: OVW's "FALL BRAWL" last night, Sept. 4th, was indeed a memorable, exciting evening as we opened the NEW Davis Arena with many guest WWE superstars and hundreds of fans! Literally hundreds MORE fane were turned away at the door as our new facilities quickly filled to capacity! Many WWE superstars graciously signed autographs for those left outside; some people had driven as much as 6 hours one-way to attend, and we thank everyone who participated on EITHER side of the guard rail! But in a night filled with surprising twists and turns, the biggest news is that the WWE Undisputed Title Match did NOT take place! Brock Lesnar WAS in attendance that night, but according to Jim Ross, both WWE and Louisville doctors had determined that a recent elbow injury Lesnar suffered did not allow him to be cleared to wrestle! Surely a disappointment for many in attendance - however, if Machine thought he was going to have an easy time of it, well, only if he could prove THIS man wrong: [picture of Chris Benoit] Is this a legit injury or a storyline injury? I know Cornette was big on kayfabe, so I'm not really sure I can "trust" OVW's website, especially since there's no mention of any injury on WWE's website, which isn't kayfabe at all. Just figured I'd post though for a confirmation anyway.

It makes sense that they wouldn't want to risk it for the OVW match, since the end, even though it was a big OVW event, and OVW is renowned, blah blah blah... it's OVW. Not exactly a huge money-making venture worth aggravating an injury.

The WWE did a smart thing in keeping Lesnar out of the ring, so as to not aggravate the injury even more, and ruining the WWE Undisputed Title match against the Undertaker at Unforgiven.
Guest Masked Heel Posted September 9, 2002 Report Posted September 9, 2002 I thought he had a chip in his elbow but it wasn't serious so i doubt the doctors looked im over in Ohio i don't think he'll miss any ring time he's playing through the pain
