Would you rather have Jesse Ventura over Lawler?

Jesse Ventura, who has publicly stated he would not run for a second term as governor, was recently on "Larry King Live" on CNN.

 

When asked if he would ever return to wrestling, he said would never wrestle in the ring again, but would consider a role as a commentator "where it's safe"

So how about it? I don't think Ventura was really worthy of all the glamor they laid on him in past years (Special Guest Referee? Well, SummerSlam was in Minnesota.. But XFL announcer? Bwuh?) but having dealt with last night's show I wish they'd kill Lawler right now.

Tazz is WWE's number one color man as far as I'm concerned. He does the pay per view better and his two hours a week is better.

Well, I think a lot of Jesse's accolades come from his voice. He has a "commentary voice" so to speak. Which is one of the reasons he was so successful on the mic. Not to mention the fact that he's a good public speaker. I'd go for Jesse over Jerry any day.

I would give anything to see Heyman or Ventura (both long shots, I know) take Lawler's place on Raw. I am so sick of his horny old man act and it genuinely lessens my enjoyment of Raw.

I don't know if Jesse would still have it, but he was golden working with Monsoon. I wouldn't complain about him coming back, but I'd want to see him working again before predicting how good he would be.

Of course I would go with Ventura over Lawler, but he would have to be 80s Heel Jesse, and not this Tweener shit that the WWE likes their "heel" color guys to play.

 

I was just watching a Hogan/Perfect match from SNME, featuring Ventura/McMahon on commentary...boy do I miss Ventura bashing Hogan's egomania.

btw, I had to watch 99% of Raw on mute due to Lawlers non-stop HLA hype, but at least JR tried to get him to stop it this time

I absolutely think Vince would be better than Lawler. He knows how to put storylines over--even when he was a horrible play-by-play guy, he was good at doing that, and I think he has the intellect to do more than repeat the same joke over and over again.

Well since my favourite colour man, Bobby "The Brain" has throat cancer (I think, Im not sure which cancer he has), I would easily have Ventura. He was not only a colour man, but he did provide some insight into what was going on during the match

Oh yeah, I'd take Jesse over Lawler. Raven and Heyman are very good as well. RIght now, I think that 2 hours of Mark Henry farting into a microphone would be better than Lawler.
