Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 "WWE media event planned in Seattle Attention fans in the Pacific Northwest: A special World Wrestling Entertainment media event is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. in Seattle. Check WWE.com early next week for more details." Source: WWE.com I went last year and am planning to again this year - whereabouts in Seattle will it be?
Guest the 1inch punch Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 But isnt putting a WWE event in Seattle a horrible idea, just look at Raw is Buff
Guest Brian Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 That was Tacoma. The audience is world's apart. You'd be surprised how little people would be interested in going 45 minutes into hicksville (and that's their words, not mine). Anyways, Tacoma has been good every other time, including Spring Stampede 1999, and Seattle was really good for the last two back-to-back shows they ran up here.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 I wanetd it in Atlanta, dammit...
Guest Brian Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 Just come up and visit me APO.
Guest franchise632 Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 DAMN YOU WWE DAMN YOU!!!!! I live in the Pacific NW for the last 18 WM's and the second i move half way across the country you book Safeco field for WM19. Well it looks like im visiting home in late march early april.
Guest MrRant Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 Yes... MrRant is going to WrestleMania! Brock vs. HHH! Feel the love!
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 If I thought I could afford going I would, but I doubt it.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 Why Atlanta Because I live in Alabama and ATL is within travelling distance.
Guest MrRant Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 Why Atlanta Because I live in Alabama and ATL is within travelling distance. Damn APO you could have came up and we could psych up by watching a MWC marathon and go there proclaiming the word of "Bundy".
Guest Choken One Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 I'm just praying some day It'll be close to me...I knew I should have gone in '92. Damn.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 Damn APO you could have came up and we could psych up by watching a MWC marathon and go there proclaiming the word of "Bundy". Heh, that would rule, Rant. I actually have an uncle who lives in Seattle, but I haven't seen him in years and it would cost an assload of money to make the trip... God, I hate living in the South... Well, I hope WM 20 makes up for it because I AM going to that one for sure, dammit. EDIT: Y'know what? Fuck it, I'm gonna try and make it up to Seattle for WM, no matter what the cost.
Guest Choken One Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 Well...I really would like to go to WMXX in NYC...My wife has family there...so I could use that as an excuse but who would I go with? My wife isn't HUGE into it...NONE of her NY family even watches Cable, much less wrestling. Maybe I can go to The World and watch there...Almost the same.
Guest Brian Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 Seattle's a beautiful place in March. Rainy, dreary, gray. I thrive in these conditions, while others contemplate suicide.
Guest Choken One Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 I always wanted to live in Seattle...My kind of home...so the Football team sucks and the Baseball team has no flavor and Sonics are just ugly...but The musical history owns.
Guest Brian Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 Yes, it does. And the EMP is so cool. Check it out while you're up here. Visit Bruce Lee's tomb. Visit Jimmy's house. Who gives a shit about the sea chickens and quite frankly I'm getting tired of all the casual fans jumping on the Mariners' bandwagon.
Guest treble charged Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 Do you think they may pull a WM VII if sales are bad, and move it from the relatively big SafeCo Field into the smaller Key Arena? I mean, it's WrestleMania, so they shouldn't have trouble selling tickets, but if business continues the way it is now, there could be a lot of empty seats in the stadium (or, at least of lot of people who got in for free).
Guest Brian Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 No. The Key is going to be much too small. I think the NW has been so deprived of wrestling over the past few years that even if the initial sales don't look that good the locals around here who are casual fans will veentually pick up on it. Plus, it's WrestleMania. I think we'll pull a good chunk from the Vancouver area and Oregon too, as well as California.
Guest permagrinning Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 if you don't live in the NW you just don't know. Trust me, tickets are going to sell fast and there's going to be a great response. I'm saving now just because I know. Front row for me baby.
Guest Choken One Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 I believe Safeco can be "Shrunk" from 60,000 to 40,000. What's why WWE need to have WMXXII in Cincy at Great American BallPark...We can hold 64,000 for Baseball...and in a hour, transform to a 25,000 seat concert arena....The future of Stadiums...so if you do well...You can adjust the arena/Stadium so you HAVE NO Dark spots.

I wouldn't be suprised if some from Japan fly in since Seattle is a popular spot.
Guest Brian Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 Front row too. Hopefully. Do you have any hook-ups, perma, or are you just going via ticketmaster, because I and my friends are exercising every option we have? The way Safeco is they can probably convert places into extra seats. I hope they do the long elevated ramp, starting in centerfield where the stannding are is, coming down, and just the straight-away. Like the Tokyo Dome, with the lights set up above the ring. I think the Australian show was very close to this map out in terms of ring.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 Damn you WWE, you didn't pick Calgary to host Wrestlemania 19. Oh well, Seattle is fairly close, so I'll have to see what happens. You never know, this could be the first Wrestlemania I attend.

I think the Australian show was very close to this map out in terms of ring. I have the cash, that's not an issue. But the hook-ups are harder to define. That's what I need to explore. I have all sorts of family in that area that I can exploit though.
Guest permagrinning Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 F' Tacoma and that show. If you think you can judge an area by one show then that's not the show, check out the RAW and SMACKDOWN that just passed here. The crowd didn't shut up for a second. I know, I was in it. How do you like this? I ordered RAW seats online. Decent seats, but nothing to brag about. When we get to the show the ushers tell us the seats don't exist. It's a computer glitch, so we have to exchange them. I'm thinking they're going to hook us up with some lame ass nosebleeds. We get sixth row on the floor, how nice is that? Loved the show, loved the crowd, love the area. My girlfriend screamed herself hoarse at the show, and before she had fought and denied even being interested in wrestling. Wrestlemania will be one to remember, and not because of the wrestlers, but the people that are here. We're a bunch of starved souls in need of a fix.
Guest Brian Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 I was hoarse after SmackDown. Just one too many of my favorites to cheer for. If it was kingdome I'd be all over it. I have to find someone basically with season tickets and some other option who may get an early offering. That shouldn't be too hard. I wish ECCW ran in Seattle, I think they'd actually do well. Maybe at Sandpoint. You'd be surprised the number of people that will go two and a half hours south into the heartland of nothing to see a small indy group. There's alo of untapped wrestling love in this city, not to mention the surrounding area.

Guest Brian Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 You have to see them. Just for Kozina. Bellingham is still like an hour and a half away.
