Guest Youth N Asia Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 With the events on Smackdown I hope like hell they don't do a Raw/Smackdown civil war angle. If they do there's no reason it should work. Invasion kind of only worked...and that's cause guys like Booker T, and Lance Storm, and their other big guys had not been on Raw before...the Raw vs Smackdown invasion would just be retarded...cause even though JR/Lawler, Tazz/Cole make a big deal about guys "jumping ship" and crossing shows it's not a big deal...so what if you see Angle on Raw this week, he was on Raw a few months ago anyway...it's not like it's a new thing. I like the brand extension believe it or not...I like seeing guys like Noble, Dreamer, and Funaki getting tv time...and I wouldn't even mind if they keep having guys jump ship and whatnot...but if they go for Invasion 2 it's going to blow
Guest notJames Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 ...even though JR/Lawler, Tazz/Cole make a big deal about guys "jumping ship" and crossing shows it's not a big deal...so what if you see Angle on Raw this week, he was on Raw a few months ago anyway...it's not like it's a new thing... Exactly. If they had had the patience and established the separate "brands" over the course of say, a year, with maybe only one or two guys jumping ship, it might have worked. As it stands now, it's just mix-and-match pseudo civil war with players who have already fought each other, all under the auspices of the invisible WW_ banner. What innovation. The real nightmare will be the inevitable Steph/Bischoff bra-and-panties match. You couldn't pay me enough money to sit through that. Just like the song says... "Ya gotta keep 'em separated" [Cue Raven run-in]
Guest evilhomer Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 Having guys jump shows totally killed any hope of a new invasion working. The entire point of the invasion (or lets just call it original nWo) is the "that guys not supposed to be here" factor. Who would really care about a Smackdown invasion which would undoubtedly be led by the Undertaker.
Guest Rob Edwards Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 It's way too soon at the moment but it's inevitable eventually. I'm thinking that the 4 on 4 element of survivor series will be the angle the hacks go for
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 It does not necessarily have to be an Invasion of sorts. It can be fighting over who is the better brand or maybe just because the two GM's have something personal against each other. Sometimes, you invade to take over (pointless in this case). Sometimes, you invade just to destroy the competition (would make more sense).
Guest converge241 Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 Invasion 2 would be an even bigger disaster as the side that loses will be forever damaged. Survivor Series put the last pile of dirt on the WCW and ECW names in the fans eyes the right way to do it would have been to have the Alliance win and take the WWF/WWE name or just make a whole new one. say steph "wins" and comes out on Raw and celebrates. The roster immediately get made out as losers. Thye should keep them like the NL/AL in baseball used to be. No interleague except for one dream match at Wrestlemania.
Guest BoboBrazil Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 I want to see Steph in a bra and panties match
Guest D'Lo White Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 I want to see Steph in a bra and panties match Me too, but she wouldn't lose it and we would just get stuck with Bischoff in his bra and panties.
Guest Brian Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 What they need to do is have Vince just speerate them after last Thursday, and set down some rules and some sort of objectives.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 I don't see this as being an invasion after what happened on Smackdown. It'll probably just try and solidify the brand extension as two different shows. Hopefully, not an invasion, but more of a seperation.
Guest papacita Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 If they want it to work, they need to isolate the two brands as much as possible. The only time Raw and Smackdown stars should compete on the same show is on the big 5 PPV's. BTW, out of curiosity, now that Raw and Smackdown have their own separate Champions, what happens to the Royal Rumble?
Guest Brian Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 Easy. Vicne gives precedent to Steph's champ because Eric is using the WCW belt, an utter disgrace, and has probably at that point rebelled against any ruling McMahon has made follwing this last Thursday to further create a sense of war. The winner of Rumble faces Eric's champ at No Way Out and the winner of that faces Steph's champ at Mania, in a "meeting of the champs".

Guest Brian Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 I figure, Vince forces the No Way Out shot to try and spite Eric by booking his title match and that way Vince still gets the big match on WrestleMania without having to unify the titles, and that way RVD can go over if he main events. Than they can just build seperately because I think the attack on Steph will bring in Vince and lay out some groundwork, rules, goals, rewards, etc. just to totally seperate them. The talent raids end. But you still have a lot of unfinished business between brands, like B&C vs. Island Boyz. And they need to effectively build up different belts for each brand, which means tag for each so there's a purpose to tag teams, and singles to each. The singles is less important, because singles feuds can get on without a title, but tag matches without a belt just don't seem worth it. But you could actually build champion vs. champion at WrestleMania.
Guest deadbeater Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 There will be payback. The GM's were supposed to be untouchable. Eric crossed the line. He will get his ass kicked and his hair will turn white again.
