Guest Rob Edwards Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 Just trying to figure out the wild world of JR's head a bit more (where would we get our jokes without that guy!) so today I'm trying to figure out the difference between a Hoss and a Sturd (If you're in a serious mood today the following will seem rather pointless so for your own sanity stop now!) OK so in JRland we have Bradshaw, Mark Henry, Test, Kane, Taker and Big Show as hosses and HHH and Rocky as Sturds, which could suggest that a Sturd is a Hoss that can draw money. But then Mr Wildcard Faarooq gets thrown into the equation and ruins things by being both a Sturd and a Hoss in JR's eyes So the common thing must lie with Faarooq, I thought for a second that with Faarooq and Rocky both being black that this could have something to do with Jr's interpriation of Sturd but then Tripper ruins that (unless he takes rap classes in his spare time or something!) I'd have thought all the steroids would have ruled out andy possibility of Tripps being compared to a black man in the trouser department (Unless it's irony!) So what do we think? Just where is the line between a sturd and a hoss? Can we solve this mystery?
Guest Youth N Asia Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 I don't think there's a height/weight limit to a hoss...if JR calls it a hoss then brother...it's a hoss He can spot a hoss from half a click...he's just got an eye for those things.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 Hmmm....I always thought he used Stud to define a great athelete (include Billy Gunn in that list of yours). I thought he used Hoss to describe the big guys.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 yes, i believe hosses are generally more fat and drunk and lazy and tall compared to studs, who are basically just young more athletic power guys. Hosses: Taker, Bradshaw, rikishi (once called a 'rhinoceros') Studs: Test, Kane (when slimmed down. otherwise a true hoss, though youth would dictate his mainly being a stud) then the cutoff point is probably guys the size of the rock or billy gunn.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 Hosses = big guys who are good brawlers Studs = hosses who move faster and/or are more athletic At least that's what I can figure. We really need a JR-to-English dictionary...
Guest chirs3 Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 What the heck is a Sturd? I figured it was a typo but they're all over the original post... I figured a Stud was sort of a Hoss-in-training. JR uses it describe Hoss-to-be's or something. Perhaps I was wrong.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 Not sure this is a Jr-to-English Dictionary, but it has documented everything he may say that would confuse your local foreign exchange student! JR's WWE Ammo
Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 JR's called Test a stud and a horse(not a typo, he did call Test a horse, not a hoss) on TV.

Sturd was just my attempt at getting some of Jr's customary Oklahoma drawl in there You know, I can't believe no one's commented on this, but "Sturd" sounds like the PERFECT f*cking way to make a wise-ass comment about JR's infatuation with hoss types. I mean c'mon people, it's staring at us in the face! "Sturd": n., used derogatorily by smarks; a cross between the words "stud" and "turd"; implication is that JR's beloved studs (e.g. HHH) are really turds in disguise
Guest Trivia247 Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 JR keeps forgetting the Samoan Hoss HAKU! its a Slap in the face to the Nation of HOSSlam by leaving him out Dag Nam it... To Hades with that Boomer Sooner fan!
Guest Anglesault Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 Hosses are big, tall, and suck: Taker, Kane, Test. Can also apply to a redneck. Studs can either refer to fat guys, or in most cases, guys who aren't as METHODICALLY AGRRESIVE~! as Hosses. (Rikishi, Billy Gunn Big Show) Must suck as well. Basically, Hosses are more agressive studs.
