Austin's departure ruined previous storyline

I know this is trivial, but I was just thinking about it the other day. Remember after the Royal Rumble, Austin "officially" threw his name in the hat for the 2003 Royal Rumble? I just think it's funny that Austin "entered" the Rumble a year in advance, but probably won't be around to see it happen. Who would have guessed?

I think he may be back by that time.

He's already entered in the '03 Rumble...

If he doesn't show up, and subsequently isn't thrown out over the top, does Austin win the Rumble?!

SWERVE~!

Who cares, screw Austin, I've got Bischoff, and I doubt those two are ever gonna be in the same building

Posted

If austin comes back and there's any question as to those two, they'll drop Bischoff in a heartbeat. Bischoff is not a draw. Bischoff is not a wrestler. Bischoff is not Stone Cold. And that's the bottom line...

Posted

Fuck. I'd take Bischoff's current character over Austin any day.

I know the evil owner Vs wrestler feuds are played out, but I would KILL to see an Austin/Bischoff feud.

HHH just threw his name in for the Rumbles 2003 - 2040

I don't think Austin would have the pull to say he'd only come in Bischoff left. I'd like to see him come in to feud with Bisch, and then Bisch bring in Goldberg to battle Austin.

Posted

There is no need to strap on the weight that comes with Goldberg. The guy badmouths wrestling, is still green, and just doesn't work all that well.

I'll take Austin over Bischoff, just because Austin wrestles and Bischoff's role is much too much for an on-air character, as is Steph's. If it was a McMahon delivering Bisch's bit in the exact same manner, you guys would be crying foul. And this cross-over thing is just going to further run over the talent. Anyone remember there's a pay per view next weekend? You know, the thing where wrestlers wrestle to culminate feuds.

I've said before that I don't want Austin to come back. Well, I'll retract that.

I don't want babyface "What", drunk-singing-Jimmy-Buffet songs Austin. I don't care how good of a wrestler Austin was/is, that guy SUCKED. And people chanting "WHAT?" after every sentence ruined pretty much every heel promo.

The only way I'd like to see Austin come back is as a mean, angry, monster heel.

Yes but that would require a McMahon to do it in the exact same manner as Bischoff.

and NOBODY does it like Bisch.

As far as Austin getting 3 minutes, it'd go kinda like this.

Well Austin, you've been back for ooooh, about three minutes now, and you've been gone, so I'll let you find out what that means

::enter Jamal and Rosie::

::Austin flips the bird, Stuns Rosie, Stuns Jamal, flips them the bird again, runs after Bischoff::

And we never see Jamal and Rosie ever again.

Still, if they're moving on this thing both GM's are getting too much time as it is that could be devoted to wrestlers.

Eh, it's a nice idea, but it means Austin is a face, and I am not sure I'd like that.

I have no problem with this.

Him entering the Rumble 2003, then leaving was kinda of a weird thing. That's one of the reasons I think this is a really detailed work.

Austin needs to come back full-blown DTA. He needs to beat some ass on those who talked trash about him while he was gone.

Only way I could handle more face Austin is if he does that very thing, Brian, and go after HBK (his initial steal the spotlight promo), HHH (I'm sure he said something), etcetera....

Uhhh, who would agree to a work that involved being labelled as a wifebeater on such prominent news networks as CNN.

Somethin' tells me that those cops in Texas weren't apart of the work buddy.

Posted

Until he's convicted, there's really not much to talk about.

He needs to go after Ross and Vince first. Him and ross used to be buddies, and then they do that Confidential piece. Definately HHH, and maybe he'll celebrate with HBK afterward and kick-wham. DTA Austin was so much fun.

Likely, if it's a work...The wifebeater wasn't planned...just happened.

Why is it whoever Debra Marries, THEY wind up in Jail or in Mental Institution?

Ummm

I'd say Austin vs. Brock is next year's Mania main event.

Guest Choken One

I don't think so...Brock won't be over enough as a face against a likely Heel Austin.

It's always tough to call...Who'd thought Jericho would be the Heel Champion or on second thought that Hogan would thaw out?

You never know, they might create the perfect character for John Cena and he make take the world by storm.

christ i miss austin. recently watched his last ppv match, the handicap against flair & show. even when the guy was unmotivated & taking the piss, he was still gold. i couldn't give a crap what happened in his private life, i'd welcome the guy back with open arms.

Without Austin, Raw is largely shit. So yeah, they need him back.

Yeah, except when Austin came back at the Rumble, he'd singlehandedly beat up thirty guys.

Wait, you mean he's done that already? Damn.

I don't want him back as the face, or as the heel that got so much airtime it nearly made me swear off WWF/e. To believe some of you talk about HHH being bad NOW, yeesh.

I think it's a bad idea, simply for the fact they need to make new guys, not bring back more old ones.

Posted

The difference being that Austin's the only old guy with a big job left in him and is still a draw.
