Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted September 25, 2002 Report Posted September 25, 2002 It's not much of stellar news, but from a guy who's been a mark of this particular wrestler.. The Good: Time for the good (I don’t want to sound in too bad of a mood). Ultimo Dragon was at the shows this week. For those of you who don’t know him, he is one of the best workers I have ever had the pleasure of being in the ring with. I worked with Dragon in Japan when I worked for WAR. He worked in Mexico and Japan before a brief run in WCW. A WCW doctor screwed up his elbow with a botched surgery and forced his retirement. If you haven’t seen his stuff get some tapes from RFvideo and check him out. He did a Super J cup tournament for New Japan one year and had incredible matches. It was great seeing Dragon again, and it looks like he may try a comeback. Dragon at 75% is still better then most of us at 100%. I wonder why? Hm.
Guest jimmy no nose Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 I liked Ultimo Dragon a lot and I'd like to see him come back, but I dont want him to injure himself further. He should only come back if there isn't a very high chance of it becoming reinjured at all.
Guest razazteca Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 what if Ultimo Dragon has plans to bring in some of his Tourymon guys, that worked in Mexico recently.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 Yeah, they could all job to Test and Rikishi.
Guest Trivia247 Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 oh don't kid with us the prospects of CIMA Magnum Tokyo the Dragon Kid, the rest of Crazy Maxx in WWE NOOOOOOOOOOOOO don't tease us.
Guest PlatypusFool Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 Ultimo Dragon is currently touring the world and wrestling a handful of matches on cards in the US, Mexico and elsewhere before heading back to Japan and making his official comback in Tokyo, if all goes to plan. He was most likely backstage at the WWE to say hello to people like Jericho and Lance who have worked with him in the past. There will not be any Toryumon folk in WWE for the forseeable future, due to various reasons: 1) Vince does not do one shot deals, it seems. 2) Ultimo would not allow any of his workers to sign with WWE, why would he let his talents go bye bye? 3) Vince has no interest in independant Japanese wrestlers at this point. It would be dead cool though...
Guest Trivia247 Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 Yea its only a pipe dream though, What a Cruiserweight division even if its for a short time, imagine, Dragon Kid vs Rey Mystero Jr. The Interest in the cruiserweight division might had picked up. aw well.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 OMG!! We so need another big fed to others to go to that can compete with WWE. Man that would be a dream. I should make a Cima sig. lol
Guest Cataclysm911 Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 I should make a Cima sig. Maybe when you learn how to make banners.
Guest BlackRainbow1025 Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 McMahon isn't smart enough to bring in Toryumon for the cruiserweight division. I'd love to see Darkness Dragon (MAKATO) or Dragon Kid or SUWA vs. Mysterio or Tajiri.
Guest Brian Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 We need some mini-Benoit title matches with SUWA and CIMA.
Guest Goodear Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 I always wonder why people expect Vince to put over people that don't work for him. Let's say Tourymon comes to WWE for a tour, what good does that do Vince? They won't draw until they get over in the ring, since the vast majority of fans won't know them. And then, when they do get over due to outstanding mat work, they'll be leaving anyway. It also doesn't make sense to put them over your own talent, since, once again, the Tourymon wreslters will soon be gone. Why damage your own properties to get other people over? It doesn't make business sense. Unless you lock them all up for like a year, but how likely is that?
Guest mach7 Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 THIS would be horrible. Vince would fuck over the Toryumon boys more than he fucked over the Mpro guys. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Puro guys need to stay out of these American "Entertainment" federations. I'd rather know that Puro guys are WRESTLING in Japan and getting respect, rather than "SPORTZ-ENTERTAINING" over in America and getting SHIT ON. Fuck you Vince.
Guest humongous2002 Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 If Vince offers a job to Ultimo Dragon i'll mark out like crazy, and bring Liger too.
Guest Trivia247 Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 Vince has had experience with other Companies. WWF like others did business with the Japanese feds. Tenryu and Kitao won at a Wrestlemania. We sent wrestlers to Japan. Great Kabuki came over from the SWS days. Great Sasuke help debut the Light heavyweight division to the unfamilar WWF crowd in 97. And in return WWF and Michinoku Pro did a little tour. Undertaker vs Jinsei Shinzaki. Even though the WWF light heavyweight title been in existance since the 80's and was bouncing around Mexico and Japan. Point being its been done, I doubt Vince would do it again.
Guest BoboBrazil Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 WWE wouldn't let them do 90% of their moves and they don't speak English so they would end up jobbers on Velocity. He would probably make them go to OVW to learn the "WWE style" for 6 months before debuting too.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 Yeah, Ultimo Dragon in the WWE wrestling WWE style is not like him at 75%, it is more like 13.7% He shouldn't waste his time.
Guest Brian Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 I would be extremely disappointed if Dragon decided to make part of his last run in the US.
Guest RickyChosyu Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 Why the hell would he want to? The only reason he's working a tour for Toryumon is because he books the shows and can therefore work as much or as little as he wants to. The WWE's work schedule really isn't something a guy in Ultimo's condition should be working, anyway. It would, however, be entirely possible for him to build a working agreement with the WWE. Dragon could send his regulars, and Vince could send guys like Chavo and Tajiri, who aren't doing anything to begin with, to Japan to work tours.
Guest Brian Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 Vince's ego is in the way of putting together a deal nowadays. And unless Vince starts treating outsiders with some resemblance of respect or gives them a chance, nothing will veer come of it.
Guest RickyChosyu Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 Exactly. At least WCW, at certain points, tried to do something with guys like Lyger and Dragon. Of couse, Ultimo ended up being forced into retirement and Lyger jobbed to a tequilla bottle, so maybe it was never meant to be.
Guest franchise632 Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 Tourymon guys would get over in the WWE like a fart in church.
Guest Brian Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 But, what would Vince get out of that franchise. He never treats the cruisers seriously.
Guest franchise632 Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 Well as my smart ass comment stated, they wouldnt get over because of that very point, with the exception of Rey Jr they have seriously pushed a cruiser since they stated pushing Taka in 97 and we all know how well that turned out. Not that this little debate matters, its not like he would bring any of those guys in.
