What Pissed Me Off More Than Anything Last Night.

There was one thing that made me pissed while watching RAW last night.

 

It wasn't Jericho jobbing (Again)

 

It wasn't Triple H winning, and then showing us how popular he is by taking a shower with two women (Although I found that strange, since, you know, he's a heel)

 

It was one simple line that JR said during the Kane/Jericho match.

 

King: "Who do you think Triple H would rather fight at No Mercy?"

 

JR: "Jericho"

 

King: "Why? He was the first Undisputed Champion"

 

JR: "Triple H already proved he could beat Jericho at Wrestlemania!"

 

Now what the hell was that? I never, ever remember JR saying something like this before. JR should have said something like "I don't know King, both of these guys are great wrestlers". You know, like he USUALLY says.

 

I'm not saying this is a Triple H conspiracy at Jericho though.

 

Of course, I'm not saying that it isn't Triple H's backstage politics, either.

the commentary last night was so sub par the Par is 12 feet above them. with the MNF Inadvertant Plugs. and the Crap side conversations, and King going on with Kane never gonna beat Jericho (Cough Survivor Series 2000) Cough Cough.

Last week Ric Flair was a good guy, until he turned, now JR is personally disgusted by everything that he liked about him two weeks ago.

 

It's fake, it's pure bias, and it's as clear as day. If they can't get people over without verbal burials and blowjobs, then they SUCK as announcers.

 

If you want to disparage their actions, that's FINE, but their persons, even though they've done nothing wrong all episode, it's just stupid. They're all WWE superstars...

I love how JR just hates Flair now...completly forgetting that he was a heel most of his career.

 

And don't get me started on the Lita calls when she does her little run in for every match...he praises it till someone actually hits her "DAMN HIM!"

 

Cole and Tazz are far and away the better team right now. I just hope we don't hear.

 

COLE: "Boy, I'm sure glad I'm here watching this instead of Friends."

TAZZ: "Yeah, and that Chandler Bing is a pillow biter if ya know what I'm saying...Redhook style!"

It's not even about that Jericho is a heel. Before, when King says something like he did, JR puts over BOTH wrestlers, heel or not.

 

Instead, he put over Triple H (who is also a heel). Saying what he did didn't do anything but help Triple H.

Jsut becaue they're all WWE supserstars does not mean he has to like them all. He can disparage their persons when they're always commiting acts that deserve to get them disparaged. Its like this...if this guy you know feels up your girlfriend on Monday and you see him on Tuesday doing nothing wrong, it doesn't matter--he's still an asshole.

I think the problem people have with JR's hypocritcal announcing is just that - he comes off as extremely hypocritical if you listen to what he says.

 

Lita runs in the ring and hits her Hurrancanra behind the ref's back. If Molly did this, JR would have a shit fit. But since it's Lita, it's the greatest thing that ever happened. GOOOOOOOOO LITA~!

 

If someone powerbombs Molly through a table..."Good! She deserved it!"

 

If someone TOUCHES Lita..."SHE'S JUST A WOMAN, DAMMIT~!"

 

I understand them having to get people over with their announcing - but the play-by-play guy shouldn't have to do it. That's color's job.

 

The PBP guy should just be calling things straight. Now, that traditionally meant he was putting the face over, because he was the one who wrestled clean. Of course, these days it's harder to do that, since NO ONE wrestles clean, but whatever.

 

The bottom line is, if anyone is gonna be a hypocrite, it NEEDS to be the color guy. That way, people hate HIM more for being a hypocrite, and it still lets him point out the shortcomings of newly-turned faces, and cheer for those damn cheaters. It's true to his character of being an annoying prick.

This holds especially true for the quintessential colour men, Heenan and Ventura. They applauded heels for their cheating prowess, and more often than not called the faces on it when they were seen taking short cuts. That's what made them effective.

 

JR's preponderance for decrying the just-turned heel is basically playing on the short-term memory of the average viewer. Surely, no mouth-breathing troglodyte could just conveniently forget that only a week ago, JR was putting Flair over as a god, but it's his job to emphasize the dastardliness of jumping from good to evil, as if it was a personal affront to JR to all of a sudden hook up with "that damn Triple H". Sure it's annoying, but it comes with working for Vince and Co., who obviously know best.

 

Plus I think JR's trying to do a little too much to compensate for Lawler's semi-non-heelness (?), overemphasizing the bad qualities of the heels and such. Hell, they may as well superimpose the word BAD GUY over all the heels and just be done with it...

Christ, I'm glad I'm not the only oen who sees this...I've gotten to not just dislike JR's calling over this...but hate Jr's calling over this...I cannot stand the man.
