Guest Dale Newstead Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 The one show I look forward to every week. I don't watch any vignettes, (well if I do, I don't pay attention to them) and I just let the work in the ring speak for itself. Paul Heyman is a booking genius, everything gets done in the ring and aside for a bit of last month, nobody has been horribly buried on the show. The finishes to both the triple threat and the Edge vs. Eddie were incredible and it was spine tingling watching the fans show Eddie the respect they did. This leads me to a question, have you ever looked forward to a straight up wrestling show as much as you have to a Paul Heyman booked Smackdown as of late? I mean even when it's a bit off and the booking is a little ridiculous, the wrestling's always solid. The only time I could think of a more entertaining wwe/wwf product was in 2000, or 1997. How about you?
Guest Boseephus Jones Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 The Canada/USA stuff of 1997 (I think) was the best TV I can remember. But for some reason, most of the PPVs of that time were relatively forgetable.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Reciently... When Austin was just a riot last year I hated if I missed a show...his stuff with Angle, Vince, Tajiri, and everyone else was the funniest tv they've ever done. And when Edge and Christian were feuding with the Hardys...half for the matches...and half for watching E&C rip on them. Edge: "Now JR, we're going to do what's call a 'run in.'" Althought these days there's not much to look forward to
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 RAW & Smackdown in the first half of 2000 was can't miss.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 I really, really enjoy Smackdown, especially lately. Hell, I get excited reading the spoilers (I have to so I can see if the last bit is worth taping, as I end up missing it due to a night class). RAW can go fuck itself.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 The whole year in 2000 was pretty much good. However, the Austin heel turn and following cramming of him down my throat made me turn it off.
Guest Zero_Cool Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 The Austin vs. The Hart Foundation feud of 1997 was badass. Hey, remember that time when Austin put Bret in the Sharpshooterfor ten minutes, then afterwards he beat him up in the ambulance? That's what WWE needs to do know. Completely invest in someone long term.
Guest Brian Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 Which is what they're doing with Brock and whomever is going to take the title off him.
