WWE is preparing to give Bautista a major singles push. Bautista has been at WWE headquarters this week filming vignettes that will air alongside his push. WWE.com has also posted an article about Bautista's singles push and his vignettes.

I think this is a good idea. Batista has a good look to him and could be very good given the right role. Haven't heard him speak on the mic so that could be a weak spot but here's hoping Batista can have a successful run in the WWE.

The fight club ones sound cooler than these of him just working out. This sounds like its going to be another one of those boring non-gimmicks. -_-

I hate Batista. Brock vs. Batista anyone? Didn't think so.

I don't understand the praise directed towards Batista. What makes him more special than Brock, Cena, Orton, Nowinski, Maven and all the other "new blood?" There's been a history of praise on this board for Batista, I'd just like to know (from those that like him) what people see in him.

they should have given him vignettes right off the bat, same goes for all the other ovw talent they have brought in lately,

and personally i just think batista just has a cool look,,,and he works stiff which is a + in my book

I bet Vince thinks Brock Batista, and Orton are the future based on their look. Cena is upper midcard cus he's slightly shorter. Nowinski is the new HHH and Maven will never get a big push cus he doesn't have the size.

I've heard weak rumors of a Horsemen style stable on RAW, consisting of Flair, Trips, Orton and Bautista. I think this is what Eric Bischoff referred to when he asked Flair about the "ex-Smackdown talent".

That's why none of these guys are as over as they could be...no video packages.

Remember the great video buildups...Razor Ramone, Kurt Angle...by the time they got to the company people already had their opinions on them.

And what do you mean "About time" for his push, man? He's young as hell and should have a long career ahead of him, pushing these guys huge right out of the womb is a bad idea.

There seems this rush to give guys huge pushes right away, me and Slingshot Suplex were talking about this last night...what happened to the guy who started as a jobber, then in a tag team...then went to a midcard worker, THEN jumped to the very top...like Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, HHH, and so many others.

I'm not saying not to elevate guys, but give them some time to hone their skills. When you put a guy on top his first year in the company there's only one way to go after...Down.

I dig Batista's look, and he's very explosive.

But they're gonna be spinning their wheels if they go with another plain ruthless agression/dedicated rookie angle (same as we've seen with practically all of the newest additions).

I like the guys look, but can somebody point me in the direction of ANY good match the guy has had in the WWE so far?

That's what I thought.

Wow. Lot to judge on, there is. I don't get SD!, sadly, or I'd argue further, but my point is he's had something like five matches, most tag, against Randy Orton (?) Can't really judge him fairly on that.

I too, am at a bit of a loss as to why WWE would want to waste main show TV time on Batista. Yeah, he's big, he looks kinda cool, we get it. But if we're going that route, just bring in Giant Gonzalez and give him some fake vampire fangs. From what all I've seen of Batista on WWE thus far, the match quality could be about the same.

He needs a little more time to thaw out, but I like him. Give him a gimmick, and you got a badass up and comer.

I appreciate power wrestling (when its actually powerful), so I can appreciate him moving up. He isn't slow as fuck, so he'll at least put on some decent matches.

Here's to hope!

well its obvious that if they are gonna push Batistia they will Push him SO FAR AWAY from Brock its unbelievable. Only one Monster Juggernaught New guy per show.

Nowinski and Rico are the only two recent roster additions that they've actually given gimmicks and started close to the bottom. Funny how most everyone here likes them the best out of the new guys, eh?

Cena's on Velocity wrestling jobber matches, and Orton looks destined for a push on Raw, and now Batista...it's all well and good to try to prove that you were right in bringing these guys up from the minors, but they need gimmicks first and a nudge in the right direction. A simple gimmick and a fair bit of undercard time to shine has given Nowinski and Rico a big leg up on the other new guys.

Batista should re-debut in a few weeks...perhaps with Nowinski. Good team that could be, no?

Batista looks cool, and I am ~ALL ABOUT~ knocking people unconcious with clotheslines, but this is a crap idea.

I mean, how the hell can I a guy get over in tag matches with the craptacular D-von against crappy crap like Cena, Orton, and Mark Henry?

And when you get a push and you're not over, people trample you in the airport to get Crash Holly's autograph. Or, you get to pin the Rock. Goes either way.

Maybe they'll start calling him Lock Bresnar? Or Kcorb Ransel.

He's got the look, But He Hasn't impressed me with his actual in-ring work.

Of course none of that matters because he Has The Look which means Vince has a hard on for him.

Evad!!!

I could live a better and more productive life if I never have to think of this again...

He does have a good look but if you are going to get the guy over, you need some nice looking moves. Shitty punches, Rock's spinebuster and a sit out powerbomb won't do him too well. The guy needs some work on his uniform and he better be good on the mic or we have a sub-par Brock on our hands which does no good for anyone.

A sub-par Brock.....ouch! The guy needs a gimmick to set him apart from the other hosses/studs/horses/mastadons or whatever JR refers to stars of this type as. If they push him as any of those classes, he'll be doomed to fail no matter what kind of ring ability he may have, if any. Also, the name Batista has gotta go.

Heh. Unlike Lesnar..Batista looks fairly much like he'd rip your head off. Brock looks like a giant hamster.

I'd have to disagree. Ever seen Brock live? Or with a beard? I agree though the preppy haircut and baby smooth face don't go too well with the skull tattoos

What I don't understand about the whole "new blood" nonsense, is the fact that WWE had plenty of new blood for the past year or so. RVD, Storm, Tajiri, Benoit, Guererro, Edge(yah even Edge) yet they just sit on their talent and do nothing with it. Then WWE just starts bringing in these EVEN YOUNGER guys, and shoves them down our throat like they are the next coming or something.......Why is WWE not utilizing the CURRENT BLOOD, and have the "new" blood take a backseat. Seems by the time the current blood gets a chance to work, they will be old and broken down like the current main eventers(except Angle)

I got a chance to see him when the Raw crowd came to Houston in July. (Y'know..when it still looked like people could be elevated..) Lesnar's wide, yeah. Not that intimidating, though.

With the exception of Tajiri, most of those guys have been handled very well.

Edge and RVD are ready to main event.

Benoit needs about a month or so to re-affirm to the fans that he does indeed kick ass.

Eddie is still crazy over despite being a jobbing machine so he's doing just fine as an upper-midcarder.

Storm isn't main event material. I'm sorry, but he just isn't. He should be no lower than an I.C level heel however.

Tajiri just needs a face turn, and he'll be just fine in the cruiser/SD mid-card

In my eyes all of the above (except for Storm and Tajiri) are practically money in the bank when it comes to high card stars.

If Brock wasn't around, I'd be for this push. But now that Brock has been shoved to the forefront of the company, Batista will have to work his ass off to avoid being compared constantly to Brock.

I agree that, facially, he has a better "monster" look than Brock.

How about calling him LEVIATHAN? Its a little more intimidating than BATISTA? Shave his head, give him the red contacts back and make him a legitimate scary looking character. Not just Raw's Brock.

Scary as this is, Brock is probably a better worker with a larger moveset than Batista, so they really need to protect him well with his gimmick.

Yeah, too many people are going by their full names now. Wrestling is fantasy, they at least should take advantage of that. John Cena should be called Prototype just so he at least has something to set him apart from all the other supposed "rookies." I don't think Batista needs to be a vampire or anything like that, just something to set him apart from other all the other big men.
