Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 It was announced today the main event of the Rebellion PPV in Manchester England would be for the WWE title be Brock Lesner defending against Edge. The only other confirmed matches are Angle vs. Undertaker, and Jaime Knoble defending the Cruiserweight championship against Rey Misterio. Other matches are expected to be announced soon. I'd like to see Noble vs. Rey. I'll not comment on the rest.
Guest MrRant Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 Edge vs. Brock is different and could be good. Angle vs. UT will be subpar because if UT doesn't work hard for US PPV I doubt he will for a UK one. (Waits for Anglesault to come in and whine)
Guest AndrewTS Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 "...hating him." Okay, made for a clever tag onto the theme quote, but why hate? I could see not being really thrilled with his character, but geez. And yes, Anglesault will reply soon--probably before I post this...
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 I hate anyone who is protected while my guy isn't. I had no problems with Bubba, then a few months ago he started beating everyone or getting his heat back. That bugged the shit out of me. I feel the same for Edge, who as a character could not turn me off more.
Guest alfdogg Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 If you guys taunt him, it will only worsen his whining.
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 If you guys taunt him, it will only worsen his whining. *Edge-O-Whatch'yamacallit to AS* *runs around* *humps ring* *Spears AS*
Guest AndrewTS Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 I don't think there's a need for that, after all, in the near future he'll job to HGH just like any other up and coming star on either show.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 This is from the Wrestling Observer, and it's about tonight's house show from Kansas City: Edge vs. Brock Lesnar (W) Title Match Crowd just loved Edge, eating up everything he did. Lesnar interacted really well with the crowd before and during the match. He started by taunting some ringside fans who had an anti-Lesnar sign, which he grabbed and tore up. My finace thought it was kind of rude but what better why to be acknowledged than to have the heel react to your sign about him? J After a couple of lock ups, Edge starts mocking Lesnar and Brock has a tantrum at ringside, throwing the ring steps and some chairs. Good stuff that really got the crowd on his back and even more behind edge. The end an Edge near fall (which drove the crowd nuts) sees Edge spear the ref by accident and Brock goes for the F5 which Edge counters into an Edge-a-cution and gets what would have been 3. Edge goes up top and Chavo runs out to trip him up, setting up the F5 as the ref comes too. I really liked this match and I think it would have sold a PPV better than Brock and the Undertaker. I must say that I’ve really started liking Edge lately and this only sold me on him more. Match of the night in my opinion. More and more people are convinced about Brock facing Edge. I personally would not mind a Brock/Edge match at Survivor Series. It's about time Edge challenges a title to see how it pans out.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 Angle is protected. He is a Wwf boy. Do you hate him?
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 Angle's not nearly as protected as some guys are..
Guest MrRant Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 So now we are griping and complaining about Edge being more protected then Angle? This is sad.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 Angle is more protected than Benoit and Jericho. Angle is Wwf born and bred and in the Wwf that means a lot. He was given a huge push in 00 - won the title in less than a year - and the only thing against him during all this time was that Mcmahon liked Goofy Angle. I think it was Mcmahons own lil jab against the olympics. But angle is still protected, no doubt. I wouldn't be surprised that within the next 3 months Angle gets a huge push and becomes openly 'protected'.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 I think they should put the Cruiser belt on Rey, just to give the Brits the thought that perhaps something of value will happen on their shows. Right now, their "Pay per views" have all the historical impact of a House Show.
Guest BrianFierce Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 the euro title consistantly changed hands at uk ppv's then it was always lost right back to the person who lost it on the next raw
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 I feel the same for Edge, who as a character could not turn me off more. Not to be a wise ass, because I like these guys also. But, what is so great about Jerry Lynn's or AJ Styles Characters? There both great wrestlers but really have no Characters. Edge has more Character appeal. At least when people say Benoit or Storm had no characters we could argue that. Benoit is a tough little, aggressive bastard, and Storm is/was a Serious, non sense of humor type of Character.

Guest FeArHaVoC Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 Yes they do. I'm not hard headed like some on here. I'll admit when something is wrong with the Wrestler I like, and Storm's problem at times is he looks to light in the ring. Also, I wasn't bashing the NWA or the "X" Division. I don't want to start a War over it. I was watching it every week up until 2 weeks ago. I'm just pointing out Characters.
Guest Pop Culture God Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 I don't want a war either, but there is a lot of hypocrisy over this sort of thing and I hate it. People are more willing to excuse NWA for certain things just becuase their "competition".
Guest cabbageboy Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 It's easy: Jerry Lynn is the grizzled veteran making good one what could be his last chance at being a top guy. AJ Styles is a young punk who Lynn tried to school but got fed up with because he was ungrateful and started beating his ass. I can't think of anything currently about Edge that has that kind of depth.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 That has to do with more of their Angle their involved in with each other, then their over all Chacraters. Get them away from each other, and then what do you have?
Guest Anglesault Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 OOOH! Edge/Brock in a Three Minute Bearhug/Spear contest and Undertaker squashing Angle for outshining Brock? I suddenly feel the need to fly to Britain RIGHT NOW so i have time to order this show.
Guest jm29195 Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 On Uk mackdown last night was something censored, because for some reason there was a ten minute clip of the Edge/Christian ladder match from last years No Mercy which seemed really stapled on. On a slight sub topic has anyone seen the Benoit/ Undertaker match from Rebellion 2000,? Benoit absolutely destroyed Undertaker who sold convincingly and beta Benoit only by a rollup (!) following a missed diving headbutt
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 He started by taunting some ringside fans who had an anti-Lesnar sign, which he grabbed and tore up. My finace thought it was kind of rude. Ha! Did no one else find this funny?
Guest nikowwf Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 Are we at the point that we are going to complain about who is headlining the england ppvs? Niko
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 On a slight sub topic has anyone seen the Benoit/ Undertaker match from Rebellion 2000,? Benoit absolutely destroyed Undertaker who sold convincingly and beta Benoit only by a rollup (!) following a missed diving headbutt Yep, and if I remember correctly Benoit beat the piss out of him afterwards. EDIT: Apparently I don't. I just checked the rant I did for that show, and I mentioned about how I was surprised he didn't attack him afterwards. Hmmm...
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 Are we at the point that we are going to complain about who is headlining the england ppvs? Niko It seems so. It's not like the England PPVs mean anything in the big picture. But I guess it's the PRINCIPLE~! of the thing...... or something like that.
