Guest nikowwf Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Raven said (last night on heat) that all the pieces had now fallen into place, and that his plan could begin. (something of that nature) He then pinned D-Lo decisively to end that feud. Could Raven be returning to Raw? Raw has a real lack of compelling characters right now, and you could pretty much stick anyone with Raven and it would be fun. Niko
Guest saturnmark4life Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 PLEASE GOD. if only for his coat. It's fricking awesome. I still think in terms of character he's the most criminally misused on the roster.
Guest buffybeast Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I'd love to see that. There are so many facets of his character that could be explored/utilized if the writers invested any time in him. BTW, what's going on with Saturn? JR never gives an injury update for him.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 well, i'm pretty much facing up to the fact saturn will be released soon, and am NOT happy about it. I know he's not as agile as he used to be, and he'll never get over in singles now, but there's tons of partners out there (see Levy, Scott and Kanyon, Chris). Also, they're using the effing bossman as a trainer. Surely saturn is a tad more suited to that.
Guest buffybeast Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Also, they're using the effing bossman as a trainer. Surely saturn is a tad more suited to that. I'm not so sure about that. Remember how he beat up the jobbers because they messed up a spot or something? That speaks of someone who has a short temper. One of the things needed to be a trainer, I think, is a large degree of patience and empathy. Two things I do not think Saturn has.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 well i suppose, i just meant cos he trained for ecw and all. I doubt many wrestling trainers or anyone really affiliated with the business is that patient or empathetic though. Injuries do seem to have shortened his fuse, i'll go with that. However, one of the jobber-stiffings was blown out of proportion, and justified. I'll leave it there.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 That would be good to see Raven back on RAW. A fued with Dreamer would be good to see. It's just too bad the WWE got rid of the Hardcore Title. Raven could have won the Hardcore Title again.
Guest Brian Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I hope so. Logically I think he shoudl go after Dreamer because he dropped the hardcore title.
Guest evilhomer Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I like Raven on Heat actually. Face facts, he's never going to be a major player on Raw is HHH, so let him be THE major player in his personal playground. He gives me a reason to watch what is becoming a great wrestling show - Heat, and a return to Raw would only be good for a few segments before he fades back into obscurity. As for his major plan, god only knows what goes through the mind of Scott Levy.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Richards beat Hurricane and Raven is getting a push. Or at least seems like it. No reason for Kane to have both titles going into "No Mercy" so let Richards & Raven take the Tag Belts tonight. I don't care if Triple H even gets into the match. Just get the belts off Kane! Raven & Richards Deserve em'
Guest Youth N Asia Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I use to wish he'd morph back into Stevie...but I'm getting to like Steven. Raven and Richards would kick ass...but then again I'm just a diehard ECW mark.
Guest Smark Hammill Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I don't think Raven is ThAT compelling of a character.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Raven needs to go to SD. NOOOOO! No, no, no, no, no, no, NO! I already have to miss the cruiserweights, Christ Benoit, Eddy Guerrero, Kurt Angle and Paul Heyman's booking, DON'T FUCKING TAKE RAVEN AWAY FROM ME, TOO!!! btw, Raven should go back to being on Raw, too, and not just on heat.
Guest Cataclysm911 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I love Raven. For him, it's all about his gimmick. He plays it so well that it's scary. That is why he has consistantly got over in the past. In ECW & WCW. His pop when he debuted in WWE was great too. I thought for sure that he would make an impact. Maybe he still can. Only time will tell.
Guest subliminal_animal Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Raven could have won the Hardcore Title again. I don't think numbers go that high. I hope so. Logically I think he shoudl go after Dreamer because he dropped the hardcore title. Raven hasn't had that title in a while. Why should he go after Dreamer because he lost it? If he was going to go after Dreamer, there's two better reasons. Raven needs to go to SD. He's better off on Raw...there's a better chance to be a big player. I don't think Raven is ThAT compelling of a character. What characters do you think are compelling? I honestly can’t think of any besides Raven right now. Wrestling characters can be interesting, but they aren’t really ever too compelling IMO.
Guest Olympic Slam Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I don't think Raven is ThAT compelling of a character. He's a VERY compelling character. His ring-work is another matter entirely as his matches aren't too good unless there's plunder and other hardcore mischief. I'm still puzzled as to why Raven has been such a non-factor since he joined the fed in 2000.
Guest Kamui Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Raven returning to RAW could be cool- for about a week, until they have him jobbing to Jeff Hardy the Drugged-Up Gay Man, and Bubba Ray Dudley, the Guy Who Waited 15 Years to Job to HHH. I'd rather let the Raven character die on Heat with some form of dignity and put in some old ECW tapes. (Ahhhh....now that's why I loved Raven. Nope, I don't remember anything about all those WWE jobs and that announcing gig, sorry, but did you know that Raven was the ECW World Champion?) -Duo
Guest Banky Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Why not have Raven return to the RAW roster and just have a 5 minute interview. Throughout the weeks he'll get more heat, more exposure, and build up his triumphant return. Well, it'll be the return of Saturn and Raven as a team. By doing this, they'll have some sort of build up, will remind the fans of Saturn, and demonstrate Raven's great mic skills. The whole package could definatly get over.
Guest Army Eye Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I like Raven on Heat actually. Face facts, he's never going to be a major player on Raw is HHH, so let him be THE major player in his personal playground. I don't watch the show, but didn't Raven lose to Spike Dudley on Heat like 2-3 weeks ago? I don't know WHAT the guy did. Maybe when being introduced to Droz instead of shaking his hand he kicked the crap out of him. Because Raven's been buried worse than D-Lo.
Guest BlackRainbow1025 Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 Ravenbomb, are you from St. Louis? Moving on topic now, Raven should stay on Heat unless they decide to finally give him something of a push. RAW is lacking decent midcarders horribly and he could be a good addition (since obviously he won't be a main eventer, no matter how much I like him.)
Guest RickyChosyu Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 A word on Saturn and Mike Bell: It was pretty obvious to me that Bell wasn't cooperating with Saturn like he should have been. Whether he did this on purpose or not is hard to say, but if it was intensional, he obviously picked the wrong guy to fuck around with, because Perry mauled the poor guy. I remember his punishment was an APA beat-down where they gave him two sick powerbombs that lead to his "knocked kooky" angle that turned him into a joke. Funny how the guy's dishing out his punishment are pretty well-known for going into business for themselves against the Public Enemy a while back, even though they were likely doing that for the rest of the locker room, too. Still ironic, thouh. Saturn does have a good amount of experience training, by the way. He did a great deal of that in ECW's House of Hardcore and gained a reputation there as a hard ass the same way Taz did (as displayed by his segments on Tough Enough). In that regard, I think Saturn would be a good pick for a trainer, as he's done little else lately, and would certainly wip the guy's into shape well enough.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 Ravenbomb, are you from St. Louis? Yes, yes I am. STL~! WHOOOOO!
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 No Raven, but we did get D LO!
Guest Just call me Dan Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 I really think Raven has the same problem as Jericho in tht his offense is incredibly weak. His matches are horrible and any innovation of moves he has been trying to use (the knee to the head from the top rope) are never taken correctly and he looks bad. He has an excellent character, but it would only be good with a big repackaging and a hot debut. As of now Batista is getting that and Raven isn't youung enough for Vince to give a shit about.
Guest evilhomer Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 I remember his punishment was an APA beat-down where they gave him two sick powerbombs that lead to his "knocked kooky" angle that turned him into a joke. I was so pissed with where they went with that angle. He was funny, he was getting noticed, he was getting over, "You're welcome" was a catchphrase that really could have gone somewhere. I envisioned him being seen in the back, just randomly snap and beat the hell out of someone, then after they pass out from the rings of saturn, say "You're welcome" and calmly walk away. No, can't do that, insane bad-ass lunatic would never work. Let's make him a total dumbass who falls in love with a mop and jobs to everything

That's EXACTLY how they should bring him back, They could go with raven turning him into a badass again. I kind of agree that raven has pretty indistinguishable offense, but in a team he can heel use psychology more effectively, and saturn has all the big moves. Did you see Raven/justin teaming on heat for about a month or so last year? they were a solid heel team. But saturn's better than justin.
