Guest Steve J. Rogers Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 Did I hear Christian right when he said "I singlehandly won the first THREE TLC matches?" TIME OUT Toronto pal, The match a WM2K was NOT an official TLC match, just a standard three-way ladder match for the tag titles. It just so HAPPENED that tables were used because of the Dudley's pennache for using them, especially in No-DQ matches. Plus with copious useage of the Con-chair-to added the chair element to the fracas. The name "Tables, Ladders, and Chairs" did not become official untill Summerslam that year and was, as Hurricane correctly pointed out, so named by Commissioner Mick Foley in his continuing effort to screw E&C by saying both tables and chairs would be used in their Three Way ladder re-match, thus the name "TLC" Flash forward to WMX-7 and it was ALWAYS considered TLC II, not TLC III. Even Ross and Heyman were selling it as a SEQUEL to the Summerslam match And finally the Smackdown 4-way with Benoit/Jericho as the champs WAS the considered the third TLC, not the fourth. Geez, I know wrestling history is constantly being revised but COME ON Steve
Guest nikowwf Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 Oh My God, you mean Christian, A HEEL lied to exaggerate his accomplishments. Terrible Terrible Terrible... Niko
Guest Muzz Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 I know what you mean, I couldn't watch the match knowing Christian has made that error, totally ruined it for me.
Guest Steve J. Rogers Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 Oh My God, you mean Christian, A HEEL lied to exaggerate his accomplishments. Terrible Terrible Terrible... Niko It wasn't just Christian, even JR was saying this was the 4th such match in WWE history Steve
Guest nikowwf Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 JR was correct and did say it was the 4th match. It is the 4th match. Let's not argue this. It was a GREAT match. Maybe Christian legitimately made a mistake. I don't think that was neccesarily re-writing history. NiKo

Never mind.
Guest TheHulkster Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 Oh My God, you mean Christian, A HEEL lied to exaggerate his accomplishments. Terrible Terrible Terrible... Niko If that was the case he could have at least said that he was 15-0 in TLC matches dating back to his first TLC match where he defeated Jack Brisco and Dory Funk Jr in 1976, single handedly, with one arm tied behind his back like a true heel. Anyway, I think it was a miscalculation on Christian's part. It happens
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 I know what you mean, I couldn't watch the match knowing Christian has made that error, totally ruined it for me. I know, I couldn't sleep a wink last night. All I could think was "Was Katie killed in the "lost" TLC 5? Did WWE cover it up so no one would know?" It's haunting me.
Guest nikowwf Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 Christian should have claimed not only did he win the first 15 TLC matches, but he actually invented the match when he was 5 years old, as he jumped off a ladder and put his babysitter through a table. Niko
Guest Trivia247 Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 all this diminished my love of wrestling, these Wholesale LIES OMG!!! Im shattered. gonna go hang myself with strainds of Hair from a Haku Wig.
Guest razazteca Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 ChrisTIAN is a liar liar liar liar hmmmmmm what a great heel tis he the Team of Christian & Jericho should continue to dominate the tag team division. WWE needs a hair vs mask match so Kane can lose the damn titles
Guest TheArchiteck Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 I'm no longer a wrestler fan now. It's utterly uncalled for when a hyped up wrestler says that a match where tables, ladders and chairs were used to be called a TLC match. **gasp**

Geez, I know wrestling history is constantly being revised but COME ON Steve In episode 2F09, when Itchy plays Scratchy's skeleton like a xylophone, he strikes the same rib twice in succession, yet he produces two clearly different tones. I mean, what are we to believe, that this is some sort of a magic xylophone or something? Boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder.
Guest converge241 Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 lol @ the simpsons refrence you liek the sharks too!
Guest Ravenbomb Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 That's Nova's gimmick. Yes, but did you know that Nova also invented Tables and he invented Ladders and chairs. He also invented the fact that tables can break
Guest BaldFish Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 That's Nova's gimmick. Nova invented the entire idea of gimmicks, you know.

Niko That would be lame and make me laugh at the lameness of Christian's heel interviews.
