Guest Sakura Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Rikishi is like, a constant upper mid card force. At any time he can fight anyone from D-Von to Benoit and be credible. Yet, he hardly ever gets an actual feud and he almost never makes it to a ppv. What's the deal? If you think about it, it's pretty weird. He is built up and frequently used on TV but never has any direction. It's not because he sucks because that doesn't stop them from putting a bunch of other people on PPV every month.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Win, lose, or draw - its got to the point where he'll always be the guy with the stinkface so why waste PPV time with him?
Guest Sakura Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Then why have him win at all? Why not just job him out on Velocity? He is like, always just there. Not really pushed. He just stays in his position, never moving up or down, never involved in a real story or issue. WHY!? It doesn't make sense!!!!!
Guest Rob Edwards Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 He's just a guy who's over enough to be worth feeding to heels the hacks are trying to build on tv but he wouldn't draw on a ppv as noone would ever pay to see him
Guest Midnight Express83 Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Rikishi is in the roll Hogan should be. baby face getting the pops in the mid card. He has short matches but his dancing and stinkface pop the crowd. He is used as in house enjoyment act. Not as a wrestler. Thats why he is on houseshows and Smackdown, and never PPVs. Because they want TALENT on those shows.
Guest Muzz Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 WHY!? It doesn't make sense!!!!! People watching the WWE over the last couple of months have said the same thing again and again.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 He's not the only one lacking direction.
Guest snowfan Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 He's not the only one lacking direction. and Angle, Benoit, RVD, Jericho, and Eddy are hardly just the guys with the stinkface...
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 I for one, Do Not want to see Rikishi on PPV. I like PPV matches to have AT LEAST 10 minutes. Rikishi gets blown up after 3-5 minutes. When he does get blown up, he lays there like a log while guys work his body. Matter of fact, I don't want to see him on Free TV either.
Guest nikowwf Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Because the upper card is bad right now, and the lower card has to produce good matches. And if you needed someone for a good match from the smackdown roster, Rikishi would be about #30 of the guys you would pick niKO
Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Rikishi isn't exactly a superstar I'd pay $30 to pay and see at a PPV. I like that he's just on Smackdown. The last PPV Rikishi was at would have to be Judgment Day of this year.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Isn't it bad enough he goes over everyone every week on Smackdown and does hit predictable stink face set up... Man I wish he would tear a quad...not meaning to be harsh or anything, but he's my very least favorite guy on the roster
Guest Human Fly Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 He's gotten to stinkface Vince and Bischoff. He somewhat over. He's employed, he serves his purpose. If the WWE ever wanted to do something with him they should've done it in 2000. I'm not talking about being the driver either.
Guest Dr. Wrestlingphysics Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 When he was ppv-ing regularly (late 2000) no-one bought it then. He even got to main event one ppv (in the 6 man HIAC at Armagedon) as well as top level bouts with Austin and The Rock. People didn't want to see him then, WWF realised this finally) and now seem to use him as a popping tool rather than a serious wrestler. And with good reason.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 The WWE should at least try and give Rikishi some kind of a push. Maybe if Stephanie somehow gets the Intercontinental Title on Smackdown after No Mercy, Rikishi can be pushed to mid carder, and win the Intercontinental Title. At least that way, he would serve a purpose on the roster, defending the title against other deserving superstars.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 But Rikishi was already one of the most boring IC title holders ever... All Rikishi does is bump and ass flex...he doesn't deserve a belt
Guest AndrewTS Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Rikishi's a sideshow freak, not a wrestler. And guys like Gerwitz and Vince get a kick out of seeing him rub his ass in other people's faces. They tried a serious heel push with him with the "who ran over Austin" angle. SHOCKINGLY, they realized as a heel that he was WORTHLESS! As if anyone couldn't tell you that already. Frankly, I think he could be used as a heel if he took over his cousin's old role (Yokozuna), but I frankly wouldn't want to see those matches.
