Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 Here's a poster's(AngryChairr) response from another wrestling discussion forum I go to, scottlevy.com's Raven Fan Forum, and get what this says in a response to a post of mine concerning Jericho, Kane, Bubba Ray, HHH, RVD, etc. Keep in mind that some of these are responses to the quotes I said in the post: Oh, now stop right there. Who decides who a credible challenger is? For Christ's sake, Kane's more deserving then Jericho. He's just more over then Jericho, and he's been mulling around WWE's mid-card for years. I'm sorry but that comment really pisses me off. And did you notice that the arena was also dead almost the entire night? No one got heat. And Jericho was also getting the Fozzy Sucks chants. The week before he was getting chants for Y2J (a.k.a. his face persona that he dropped), not himself. Jericho was horribly booked, I'll agree. But the thing is...he wasn't over. They had to do something. They couldn't have an unover champion coming out of Wrestlemania. Hunter was still massively over from his return, so it made sense. And it's not like he held the title forever. He was fed to Hogan the very next month. I'm still not sure RVD as a World Champ works. He hasn't really been built up to that level yet like Austin, Hunter, and others were. Rock and Brock were really the only people in recent memory that were just thrown in the title scene out of the blue. Just giving RVD the World Title with no build would really look kind of akward (like with Brock) because he's been facing mid and low card opponents for like the last year. Let him go over Flair and maybe then he'll be ready. Yeah, and RVD's had dwindling pops. It depends on the arena. Some arena are dead, some aren't. It's called the WCW syndrome. This following comment is a response to me when I said that Kane's only passable when wrestling superior wrestlers: And passable in the ring? Ok, and you praise RVD...the spot-worker. I mean, at least Kane's matches aren't predictable. RVD basically works through the same routine each week. That's why I can't stand him. He's so overrated. He has almost no personality on the mic (which Kane actually has him beat at), and is overrated in the ring. They're not giving Bubba a main-event slot yet. Did you notice last RAW? Yeah, he was in the main event...of a Tag Title TLC Match. It's called seeing what works. So he isn't majorly over as a face. Big deal. It's not the end of the world that he's had a program with HHH. He just needs to be built up properly.
Guest benoitrules2000 Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 QUOTE Yeah, and RVD's had dwindling pops. It depends on the arena. Some arena are dead, some aren't. It's called the WCW syndrome. WTF!!! Did he even watch the TLC match! The crowd broke out in RVD chants when kane was on the offense in the ring and it was the only thing you could hear!!!
Guest Cataclysm911 Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 What are you expecting people on these forums to say? Every is entitled to their own personal opinion, even if we don't agree. Of course, it sounds like he is watching a different show altogether but that's beside the point.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 The week before he was getting chants for Y2J (a.k.a. his face persona that he dropped), not himself. WTF is that supposed to mean? What, is the crowd gonna bust out a "Chris Irvine" chant? When fans chant for *anyone*, it's cheering for their face/heel persona.
Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 Also, the sad thing is AngryChairr's a HHH mark, and actually thinks he's worked hard to get to where he is today, when this year, he hasn't exactly been putting out good matches without someone named Angle, Jericho, or Michaels, and DID NOT have massive pops.
Guest godthedog Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 well, he did work his ass off to GET where he is today. he's just not working as hard now that he's there.
Guest art_vandelay Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 80% of what that guy said, I completely agree with. Jericho wasn't over as champ, Kane's currently more over than he is and RVD has not been built-up to champion status yet. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. Don't bring your battles over here and expect us to console you, take it to the guy yourself.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 I think RVD's pops are getting stronger each week lately. Ever since they got him away from HHH, he's incredibly over again. Because people beleive he can win, want him to win...and when he's with Dreamer and JEff HArdy...he looks like a star in a small pond.
Guest cabbageboy Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 I have noticed this as well. But anyone who says that RVD hasn't been built up for the world title enough is full of shit. I cannot express how full of shit that is. 1. RVD has beaten Austin, the Rock, HHH, UT, Kane, and everyone else...just not for the title. 2. RVD has main evented a couple of PPVs, and has also never won the world title in either ECW or the WWF. 3. RVD actually won the title from UT before the Flair restart of the match. 4. RVD had HHH beat before Flair ran in and turned on him. I do actually think he needs to take care of Flair at this point, since Flair cost him the title twice now. But he's been built up over the past year as a credible contender and should definitely get a world title soon. Oddly, you wanna know why RVD's pops have gotten larger lately? People know he is being treated like shit, even the biggest mark knows something is wrong when the guy gets screwed out of the title and then gets no rematch or anything....then a hulking hoss gets the next title shot for no good reason. Seriously, this turn of events has pissed me off more than anything else they've done this year.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 Jericho was unover b/c of the booking. Believe me if he had been allowed to win cleanly against the fodder and semi-clean against main eventers and been allowed to play the same character he did in WCW then he would've been over BIG TIME.
Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 Don't bring your battles over here and expect us to console you, take it to the guy yourself. I've tried to for the past few months now, but all he does in reply is say silly comments like "Run headfirst into a wall and maybe you'll actually say something intelligent" or "Hit yourself in the head with a hammer" after posting some responses to my quotes, he just doesn't get it. I know everyone IS entitled to their own opinion, but saying HHH has worked hard THIS year to be where he is today is not true, and Jericho could have been more over as Champion if WWE had built him up well before winning the Championship and then let him win the belt cleanly at Vengeance. Putting Stephanie with Jericho just because "he wasn't over" was obviously not a solution for the shit that happened earlier this year with Jericho.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 It's not just Jericho. I'm telling you, they won't let any small guy be in the main event as a heel, and be credible. Only HHH and Lesnar can be credible heels. Everybody else has to be embarrased.
Guest snowfan Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 It's not just Jericho. I'm telling you, they won't let any small guy be in the main event as a heel, and be credible. Only HHH and Lesnar can be credible heels. Everybody else has to be embarrased. Not disagreeing in whole, but you forgot UT. If UT went heel he'd instantly be credible. I have a hard time seeing the difference between heel UT and face UT anyway. Brock is a heel because he wants to be champ? I don't get it....
Guest tombstone Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 RVD is in danger of being lugerized and NEVER winning a world title. Jericho would be SO over as a face right now. Rhyno will be a great heel on SD! Let Lance Storm go on his own....imagine, RVD is doing the double thumb thing to a HUGE pop, and Storm come sout and asks if we cna be serious for a moment. He slags of RVD for being flashy and a poor wrestler. RVD says thats cool casue I'm RVD. Storm costs RVD a title shot. Instand feud, good match, entertaining on the mike. THEN, once Jericho is a face. Storm is blasting the RAW crowd for cheering Booker / RVD / Jeff hardy / insert name here when Jericho comes out and WOULD YOU PLEASE SHUT THE HELL UP, cue jericho taking the piss with much Forrest Gump, Junior and ass Clown allegations....add in the fact that they used to be a tag team and INSTANT UPPER MID CARD FEUD. makes sense, eh..Vinnie.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 i know jericho's going nowhere as a heel right now, but i hated him as a face and never saw him as anywhere near main event level until his great heel turn. I just can't accept him as a face, though i guess it would be best for him.
Guest Cataclysm911 Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 RVD is in danger of being lugerized and NEVER winning a world title. Lugar won a world title in WCW.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 Beating Hogan *clean*, by submission, no less...
