Brock vs. Mysterio

It looks like they're foreshadowing an eventual Mysterio vs. Lesnar feud, from the way they hyped up their meeting on SmackDown!. They kept saying how it was the first time these two had met. I was actually thinking they'd be hyping up Edge/Lesnar more, seeing as how those two might meet at Survivor Series, but they didn't build that up too much.

I think that a Brock/Rey match will draw more than most; it is a very intriguing match-up. Of course one big concern is how much Lesnar will sell for Rey; the whole "underdog" gimmick gets old fast. Rey needs to be booked as a threat to Lesnar, and Lesnar can't just dismiss Rey out of hand (that reeks too much of HHH). They should build it up as two guys with unique movesets facing each other (some might consider Lesnar's moves to be nothing special, but they are different than most WWE wrestlers' move-sets).

The question is, when will this happen? Will they make this just one of those transitional TV feuds, ala Bubba/HHH? IMO that would be a mistake, and I also don't think they'd do that. But would they slate it for a minor PPV, or a big one? I suppose it might happen at Survivor Series. Of course Benoit and Edge are also possibilities for that. Personally, I think it would be cool to see it at the Rumble.

And of course, this could just lead nowhere, ala RVD's countless false elevations.

Only problem I see is that by doing the right thing for the business while UT and HGH don't Brock will look weak.

I'm pretty sure that I'm in the minority, however I wouldn't be disappointed if Edge won the Undisputed Title. I like Edge. Then again, I don't want Brock to lose it anytime soon. I would like for lengthy title reigns to return.

Actually, I think that it just comes down to me not wanting people like Triple H & The Undertaker to hang around the top forever. However, I don't want Rey Mysterio to win it. He should be in the cruiserweight division. It's not going to survive without big name talent.

Considering how much Brock bumps for everyone else, he can do the same for Mysterio.

Brock will squash him like a Ant because he has to be the WWE Sacred Smackdown Cow and must destroy anyone who is smaller than him. its in his Goldberg like contract.

You must be kidding me. He bumped like hell for Edge, and sold for him. Who else in the title scene right now would do that for him. You're constuing Brock's push to make a point, a false defense at that, just like Sault does when he fails to listen to half the arguments that people bring up so he can put some kind of ignorant point out. Ever seen a guy like him arguing with Choyshu, Cooke, or Dean? Ever seen him actually take apart someone whole argument rather than cutting it down to just what he can work with, butchering or ignoring facts? This is on the same level, and just because Undertaker choose not to sell for Lesnar and sand bag and failed to put him over despite having his two false finishes. You don't have to defend him no matter what. He did something wrong; you can admit it and just continue a blind worship rather than shift blame and try to construe the situation like Undertaker took a stand against the push and did the right thing. Where have I heard that before...

Well, clearly, Rey wouldn't beat Lesnar. That's one problem, in that the outcome is too obvious. But I'm pretty sure they could book it in a fashion such that the marks think Rey has a chance.

The thing is, we all know Brock is probably holding the title 'til Mania anyway, so the "obvious finish" point counts against whoever they match Lesnar up against, and not just Rey.

Man, Brock would probably even bump like a freak for Mysterio. I think it'd be great fun, we could see which one would out-bump each other. Probably see some pretty swank reversals as well. Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous that Brock has yet to have had a singles match with Benoit, Angle, Eddie, Edge or Rey yet? By depriving Brock of working with the best workers in the company, it means that we cannot truly see what he's capable of IMO.

I agree.

I also think it is by design.

When the Trinity pulls awesome matches from Brock and helps train him in being credible who is going to look weaker overall as performers.

Hey-uh Dad-uh I got-uh Brock-uh ready-uh for the migets-uh.

Vince I just wasn't feeling it....

I agree with the Hamburger guy. That match would definatly kick ass, and I would love to see it. I think Brock would bump for Rey, even though on the way to the ring he'd get orders from a thousand different people. There are two big things they'd have to look out for though.

1. NO SQUASHING - apparently the opprotunity to have a hoss squash a crusier is so appeling to wwf bookers, they just can't help themselves. That would totally blow the match, as Rey is getting a big push right now, and for him to suddenly go jobber is idiotic, but that's what would happen if he got squashed. It would also fuck up all cruisers by proxy, since Rey is undisputed king of crusiers.

2. NO BEARHUGS - ahhhhhhhhhh!!! If this match is gonna be any good, it has to be a Rey match, not a Brock match. (I guess you could say that for any match). Rey has done good stuff with heavies, but not someone enormous like Brock. It would be a hell of a lot tougher for Brock to keep up than guys like Angle, Benoit, Eddy. But if Brock can go full speed and bump like a coke head (and not pass out after 30 seconds) then this match could kick some ass.

EDIT: If, you know, it ever happens.

I'd rather see Lesnar vs. Edge than Lesnar vs. Mysterio, since Lesnar would totally squash Mysterio, and make Mysterio look less credible as a Cruiserweight. I say if the WWE is trying to decide which match to go with for the Survivor Series, go with Lesnar© vs. Edge for the WWE Title.
