Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 You know I was just watching the Tough Enough 1 marathon and I saw Mick Foley on there....and I realized how much I miss the guy. Does anyone else miss good old Mick? I mean he was funny as hell and entertained in the ring. But with all the bad blood that went down their in the end....anyone think we'll ever see him back in any way shape or form?
Guest CanadianChick Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 There wasn't really bad blood...Mick just wasn't happy with the direction and wanted to concentrate on writing

No I don't because Mick is smart enough to stay away from Crips.
Guest HartFan86 Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 Read the post I made last night. Foley is missed, but he got out why he could.
Guest Zero_Cool Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 Any word on when his next book is coming out?
Guest deadbeater Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 Mick should have the book, not Gerwitz, not Stephanie.
Guest Cataclysm911 Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 I miss Cactus Jack, not so much Mic Foley. Dude Love should've never happened, but when Foley was heel and played Cactus.. it was always gold.
Guest snowfan Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 I miss Cactus Jack, not so much Mic Foley. Dude Love should've never happened, but when Foley was heel and played Cactus.. it was always gold. I think he played all three okay. I also think Dude Love would have been great as the "let Flowey heal" role. Dude Love as a recurring character was pretty bad. Mankind was cool as hell.
Guest Trivia247 Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 I do miss him, but i understand him being gone His Wrestling books is a fitting conclusion in his career. Putting it everything in perspective. He made the choice to step aside, and he sacrificed himself in order to make HHH a Main event Heel. MicK was made a legend in Japan, ECW and WWF. and he left WWF a Multi Time World champion Tag team and First Hardcore champ. not a bad resume for the Winner of the 1995 King of the Deathmatch Tournay.
Guest Cataclysm911 Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 Mankind was cool as hell. I liked Mankind, but only when he was heel and feuding with guys like Vader & The Undertaker. When Mankind went face, I was happy for Foley when he won the title, but as a character in the WWF, it was dumb to me. His cheap pops and socko were dumb, but I admit that I had to chuckle whenever either happened. That's what it's all about.. entertainment.
Guest AndrewTS Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 Heel or face, Foley was great, although Mankind was cheesy. As a commissioner, he usually was a bit annoying except when doing bits with Edge and Christian. And I kinda feel sorry that he busted his ass to put over HHH, and in the process created a monster that years down the line is destroying the WWE. Trips not doing the job in his HIAC match with Jericho, after Foley put him over in it and MADE his career, that triggered my full HHHatred on him and always been that way since. However, he was smart to get out when he did, and is a great example to all wrestlers.
Guest brokentusk16 Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 I really miss Mick, he was my favorite wrestler. Mankind was great as a wrestler and comedy relief. Cactus Jack was handeled very well as a more hordcore wrestler. I just loved Mick's first run as the Commish. Like he said, as the Commish, he wanted to be "a role model for nerds". Although I doubt he'll return, I'd like to see Mick back in a non-wrestler capacity. I think he should've been Smackdown GM instead of Stephanie. Just my opinion. What WILL Mick's next book be about?
Guest Human Fly Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 Although I doubt he'll return, I'd like to see Mick back in a non-wrestler capacity. I think he should've been Smackdown GM instead of Stephanie. Just my opinion. That would've been cool, since he's not doing that though I think he should just stay gone. It'd be great to have him back but what would you have him do? He got out with his head up high and it was a good way for him to go. I would have no complaints about him showing up for one shots every now and then as a referee or something like that. It would be a good way for him to promote his next book (whenever it comes out) and I don't think the fans would complain.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 I miss Foley. But I'm glad he's moved on with his life, and his actually retired from the business.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 Yeah I guess it's good that he's one of the only wrestlers that says "I'm retired" and means it.
Guest HartFan86 Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 To get back to the Dude Love character, it was on a fucking roll in mid 98. Hell, he was one of the main reasons Raw beat Nitro for the first time in 84 weeks in the ratings. He was such a fucking awesome heel during that time and probably could of gone somewhere else with it if they kept playing it. I'm not sure about you guys, but I would of digged Austin/Love III @ KOTR 98. OTE 98 with Austin/Foley is probably my favorite Foley match ever.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 Yeah, I too miss Foley. I would have rather him be the Smackdown GM instead of Stephanie, that way, Smackdown would have been worth watching. Oh well, I'm glad that he left on a good note and all. By the way, his Cactus Jack gimmick is the one I liked the best. His Mankind gimmick was funny at times, and his Dude Love gimmick was pretty cool also.
Guest cynicalprofit Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 Mick could be funny or serious, but he was always entertaining. He i missed and yes he should be booking.
Guest SP-1 Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 I miss Mick, yes. But I'm also happy to see that he left with his integrity and didn't stay around for what the company has now become. As for Mick booking . . . I think he could be a great help with the booking. For some reason, giving him the full reign doesn't sit right with me, but I think if he teamed with maybe Paul Heyman, we'd have some seriously good wrestling on TV. Mick, I think, would serve as a good practical lasso to rope Paul if he starts moving out towards a crap storyline, you know? Just my opinion. SP
Guest Narcoleptic Jumper Posted October 15, 2002 Report Posted October 15, 2002 I'd probably get quite a laugh if Foley just showed up at every event and just kind of wandered around backstage doing absolutely nothing but entertain us, like only Mick can.
Guest cynicalprofit Posted October 15, 2002 Report Posted October 15, 2002 I'd probably get quite a laugh if Foley just showed up at every event and just kind of wandered around backstage doing absolutely nothing but entertain us, like only Mick can. AHMEN TO THAT!
Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 15, 2002 Report Posted October 15, 2002 Foley should be writing both RAW and Smackdown. That way, we might get some entertaining WWE programming.
