Guest GameCop Posted October 18, 2002 Report Posted October 18, 2002 Sources say that Paul Heyman is pushing for Vince Mcmahon to go with Brock vs. Angle vs. Benoit at Survivor Series. Presumably, Angle and Benoit will win the tag titles at No Mercy. In the coming weeks, however, Angle and Benoit will feud over who gets a shot at Brock's belt. The solution, of course, would be to put both of them in a triple threat match with Lesnar. credit: Torch Newsletter
Guest The Superstar Posted October 18, 2002 Report Posted October 18, 2002 Well, that's....interesting. But it's obvious they're saving Brock/Angle for Wrestlemania. The new RAW magazine has an entire 5 page article about this 'fantasy matchup'.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 18, 2002 Report Posted October 18, 2002 Lesnar© vs. Angle vs. Benoit would be an alright main event for the Survivor Series. The only problem is if Angle & Benoit win the Tag Team Titles, then those titles will essentially mean nothing, much like when Kane & the Hurricane won the Tag Team Titles, and Kane then won the Intercontinental Title.
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted October 18, 2002 Report Posted October 18, 2002 Sources say that Paul Heyman is pushing for Vince Mcmahon to go with Brock vs. Angle vs. Benoit at Survivor Series. Meaning someone will pull a power move and the main event will actually be Brock vs. Undertaker III, inferno match.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 18, 2002 Report Posted October 18, 2002 Meaning someone will pull a power move and the main event will actually be Brock vs. Undertaker III, inferno match. Please don't let that happen.
Guest suckfreecomix Posted October 18, 2002 Report Posted October 18, 2002 I can buy that they want Angle/Benoit/Brock at SS. But they need to put the titles on Edge and Rey then. Let them go defend against Eddy and Chavo. I don't need to see the tag champions feuding over over another belt...which would automatically make the tag belts look like crap. I've seen Jerry Lynn and AJ Styles run that exact feud already this year.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted October 18, 2002 Report Posted October 18, 2002 3-way matches tend to suck dick. Pick a guy and fed him to Lesnar instead of throwing stuff liek this out there. Plus, like Sucka already said, they ran this exact angle this year in TNA with Styles/Lynn, which I didn't like then and I really don't want to see it now on a major PPV.
Guest razazteca Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 3 way dance elimation matches are always entertaining to me, please let the match be more like the WM 2000 instead of KOTR 2001. Benoit & Angle in 3 way matches = ratings
Guest Ravenbomb Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 yes, but some 3-ways are rather good. Examples: Benoit vs. Jericho vs. Angle, WM2K; American Dragon vs. Low-Ki vs. Christopher Daniels
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 I still think Edge is a better fit for Lesnar right now. It is too early to use Benoit & Angle as title contenders. They are the stars of Smackdown, you need to build up to them.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 Um... I think the WWE has given the star of SD! build up to him job to Edge.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 Um... I think the WWE has given the star of SD! build up to him job to Edge. Who the fans pay to see, and who Vince thinks we pay to see are two different things, bps21.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 You don't have to tell me. Kane is main eventing the RAW side.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 FUCK! Angle and benoit are having good matches. Brock is sucking it up week after week. So obviously, if you out him with Angle and Benoit (and go over them both, obviously) Brock "doesn't suck" anymore. There is no upside.
Guest AndrewTS Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 Meaning someone will pull a power move and the main event will actually be Brock vs. Undertaker III, inferno match. Please don't let that happen. Nah--Ortontaker's taking time off for surgery after the Insurrection PPV, so that won't happen. HHH/Brock? Er..maybe.
Guest GameCop Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 Actually, I think a Angle-Brock-Benoit three way could blow the roof off MSG - especially if Lesnar is allowed to WRESTLE. If these guys get 30 minutes to do their stuff, we may have a technical masterpiece on our hands. Personally, I'd like to see Benoit win the belt, and lose it back to Brock at the Rumble. A match like this could start a new era in WWE - submission/technical wrestling, which would culminate at WrestleMania in an Angle-Brock main event.
Guest Olympic Slam Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 This rumored match up reminds of the 2001 KOTR main event between Austin, Benoit and Y2J. The same problem exists for this match as well, the opponents are total lameducks who have no possible chance of coming away with the belt. Just another way of making Brock's title reign "kill time." Anyone remember a fairly recent 3-way title match where the finish wasn't a forgone conclusion? I guess Survivor Series 99 kind of counts. Anything else though?
Guest Chuck Woolery Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 Eh... No Mercy 2001 maybe. I wasn't sure if they were going to hotshot there or not. Other than that ya got me.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 Eh, Survivor Series 99 is pretty much the only one I can remember.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 Summerslam 99 As well. I saw Trips beating Foley the whole time.
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 Even the Vengeance 3 way match was a good match. And Benoit is better than the Rock and Lesnar is better than Undertaker, plus Angle is back, so I see no reason why these 3 won't put on a great match. But as I said, I'll believe it when I see it.
Guest kindredone Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 Id like to see them 3 go at it. It would be a great match..I hope Benoit is the one who ends up defeating Brock. Or Edge.
Guest The Tino Standard Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 I thought the Vengeance match was great and if it weren't for the goof up with the WWE Magazine giving away the results, then I'd have had no idea which guy was winning that match. SurSer 99 seemed pretty obvious once the Big Show was introduced. I'm not saying I liked that, just that it was pretty clear to see.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 Id like to see them 3 go at it. It would be a great match. As long as benoit and Angle fight while Brock stands in the corner and looks evil
Guest kindredone Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 Id like to see them 3 go at it. It would be a great match. As long as benoit and Angle fight while Brock stands in the corner and looks evil Lesnar has alot to learn, but being in the ring with Benoit is great.Benoit could carry anyone to a great match.

Guest BaldFish Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 For the finish of that, I'd probably put Lesnar over Benoit, while Mattitude pulls Angle back before he can make the save. That way you can tease Angle/Lesnar for Wrestlemania.
Guest Pop Culture God Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 I thought Austin was going to pull it out at Breakdown in the Triple-Threat against Kane and UT.
Guest Cataclysm911 Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 I wouldn't mind the match actually. I wouldn't even mind if Lesnar went over and kept his title. Especially if he busts out actually wrestling moves.. not bearhugs and shoulder blocks.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 Ugh. Angle/Lesnar..dream match? Whatever. Oo..so they were both amateur wrestlers. I'm sure all of four people find that enthralling enough to make a "dream match". Angle's one of the best on the roster, and Lesnar's an overpushed guy who looks like a goofball from the neck up. I can think of at least three things that'd be a dream match before -that-.
