Guest Slapnuts00 Posted October 21, 2002 Report Posted October 21, 2002 Now I didn't see it but just about everyone I've read is giving the match ****3/4 and gushing how amazing and excellent it was. I was just wondering what stops it from getting *****? I mean if it was such an amazing match, what aspect prevented it from getting that last 1/4*?
Guest eirejmcmahon Posted October 21, 2002 Report Posted October 21, 2002 Some of the Edge/Rey double team moves were a little contrived, for starters.
Guest HartFan86 Posted October 21, 2002 Report Posted October 21, 2002 IMO, the only thing that kept this from ***** was that the beginning was a little slow and kinda boring. But still, if someone told me it was *****, I'd believe it.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted October 21, 2002 Report Posted October 21, 2002 Slow start, and a few contrived spots. I'm not so sure about a ****3/4 rating, but it was fuckin' awesome, with a really hot finish.
Guest wolverine Posted October 21, 2002 Report Posted October 21, 2002 It isn't even close to ****3/4. A very good match, but I don't know why they did it the way they did, with the heat spot on Edge FOREVER. Edge isn't good enough to be put in that type of position, and the lack of heat for this portion proved that point. His comebacks were decent but not great, and they didn't do anything to get the viewers excited. Once they did the hot tag to Rey mid way through, it was super, with great spots, counters and reversals. I would've booked it far differently, but this is definitely a match worth seeing, even if it was just a longer TV match in my mind. ***3/4
