Guest Vern Gagne Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 credit wrestlingobserver. "Big angle. Undertaker called out Lesnar. Heyman noted that Lesnar beat Undertaker in his own specialty. Undertaker used the injury as an excuse to a point, but said that five years ago, broken arm or broken leg, he'd have won the match. Kind of portrayed Undertaker as over the hill. I wouldn't want to do it that way. Show came out and guess what. Show took credit for Lesnar's win. See, Show gave Undertaker such a beating in all those 2:00 squash matches that he lost that Undertaker wasn't the same guy anymore. Since Show is being given the big push, Undertaker agreed. Show ended up throwing Undertaker off the stage and they did a long injury angle which looked to write Undertaker off. Seems to set up Lesnar vs. Show as the main event feud. You can kiss next month's buy rate goodbye." Let's hope this is a madeup report. Guest KingOfOldSchool Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 Well, look at it this way... The match at the PPV can't be that long, since it's common knowledge that Show can't work (but then, it's WWE we're talking about, but anyway). And at least if this goes down, then Angle or Benoit or Guerrero or Edge won't be fed to Lesnar anytime soon. So let Show be fed to Lesnar. As long as it doesn't take anything away from the undercard, that is. And in a way, don't we kind of WANT the buyrate to dip a bit? It sends a message to the WWE, forcing them to shape up sometime. Besides, the Raw side of things will kill the buyrate enough already, and Show/Lesnar is the least of our worries for the PPV. It can't be any worse than a Lesnar/Undertaker effort.
Guest eirejmcmahon Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 It can't be any worse than a Lesnar/Undertaker effort I wouldn't complain if the blowoff match was as good as Lesnar/Taker but I don't think there's much chance of that.
Guest MrRant Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 I think it's just for like next Smackdown but if they can get Show over a the same time then great because it you know... doesn't hurt business at all to have too many over guys.

Guest buffybeast Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 If that report is true, I am surprised that Taker would take such a beatdown. Well, it is Show so that doesn't hurt his credibility too much.

Well, it is Show so that doesn't hurt his credibility too much. I disagree 100%. Being beat down by show is pretty low. He has been used as comedy relief and job boy for the longest time between 2 week pushes. (one week to start the push, one week to realize its not working) The WWE seems to think because Big Show is big that its credible he can beat Brock even though he can't beat anyone else important. Thats retarded booking. niKO
Guest Incandenza Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 According to that same report, the crowd was pretty much dead from then on after the Show/Taker segment. NOT A GOOD SIGN.
Guest Brian Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 Actually, it's a very good sign. And it makes Taker look very bad getting pinned cleaned the night before and injured the day after.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 But, it kind of makes Lesnar look bad (thanks Taker) that he wasn't the one who took Taker out. I guess Taker felt he did enough for Lesnar? They should have just keep Taker off TV making it look like Lesnar destroyed him.
Guest Incandenza Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 A good sign? It could be argued that the possibility of Show/Lesnar killed their spirit, but when he have people enjoying corpse fucking, I am probably giving them too much credit.
