Good for you , JR

As awful as RAW has been, I like how JR has been somewhat vocal about his distaste for the more crappy SE elements of the show. The HLA debacle, the corpse-humping, HHH's "awarding" of the Fake Gold Belt, Lawler's insistence on ignoring the wrestling... all of these have been fodder for JR's drawling, malapropism-laden diatribes. And I applaud him for giving a voice to the faceless tribes of dissatisfied fans.

This was never more evident than in the Main Event of the last RAW. His continuous misgivings of the words "necrophilia" and "semen" in the lexicon of wrestling-speak, his blasting of Flair's 20-plus-year struggle to execute a successful top-rope manouever (actual history aside), his railing against the ridiculousness of HHH's attempt at Kane's character assassination (although the credit should go to the writers for doing that already)... you could almost hear the bile in JR's throat boiling over. Granted, he probably has nothing against Flair or HHH, but I'm sure his ire helped fuel his commentary during the match.

Now whether or not his on-screen rants are legitimate or not is debatable. But I'd like to think that JR has been in this game long enough to know when to take the kid gloves off. Of course, his heavy-handed Ross Reports would point to the contrary, but who's to say that the old Boomer Sooner even writes those fellationary missives anymore anyway?

I would hope that someone like JR who's had a passion for professional wrestling for this long would not allow any corporate responsibilities to keep him from speaking his mind. Someone with his tenure should be allowed to call the writers to the carpet and tell them when the shit's hitting the fan. At some point, the show's quality will reach an abymsal nadir, and someone at Titan Towers will have to take off Vince's blinders and make him see what's become of his grandfather's legacy.

For the WW_'s sake, and all our sakes, I hope JR makes the right call.

He wasn't shooting- I mean if he was- Vince would probably fire him on the spot

Yes, but remember, if JR had his way WWE would be full of Hosses. All Hosses, all the time.

I think JR loves wrestling. He spoke out and said he was uncomfortable about the HLA and hell, the guy has been in the business long before it became Sportz Entertainment. But as pointed out by mach7, he loves his hosses and I'd say he's probably an equally big Akeem fan as he is a Steamboat fan.

That said, I am curious as to how much different personalities in the WWE hate the current direction but still tow the company line. I'm talking everyone from Jericho to Lawler to Kane.

I'd think that anyone in the lockerroom not named McMahon or Helmsley would be in the "RAW is SHIT" camp.

As for JR, I'd like to think that his hoss-love is more a manifestation of Vince's "I [heart] Big Guys" mentality. Of course, given the various pushes for lumbering lugs like Big Show, Bradshaw, and Kane, it's probably just wishful thinking.

Of course, if all those Vanilla Midgets had played college football, methinks things would be a mite different 'round here ;)

problem is on the Ross report We will hear great praise for the show by good ol JR.

You heard JR getting more and more upset as Lawler got crazy with his morbid sexual arosal. But when JR started to snap Lawler like quieted up like he couldn't believe it. or like (hey JR thats not in the script)

JR went pretty far in the past in angle driven emotional subjects, when Lawler would asskiss McMahon with anything he did, and JR would mock it... One of my favorites was Surivior Series 2001 where Heyman was going on and on about his team and JR goes "We'll Why don't we Just start a ECW Chant Paul..you go First."

I'm sure JR, being a respected backstage guy an' all would be allowed a little leeway in what he says on screen. Just like I'm told HHH has *some* leeway in how his angles unfold.

I too yearn for that halcyon summer when JR and Heyman shot all over each other like a pizza in a circle jerk. (Sorry about that... I forgot there was no "semen" in wrestling...) ;)

Seriously, if they really didn't hate each other in real life and could channel all those past feelings into the commentary, I'd never stop watching RAW. Too bad we're stuck with Lawler. Oh well, tonight's another Thursday, if you know what I mean...

I don't think JR likes his hosses at all. Thats all part of the good ol JR character and he'll have it whispered into his earpiece all show, Remember this is a guy who may well have seen more wrestling than this entire forum combined

Any word on Kane's feelings about the whole thing? I guess it's times like this you're glad you're a masked wrestler.

Doubt it. About the character thing. He used to call Football for crying out loud. With JR marks for Hosses, it's the real JR. He's been like that since before he ever had a job with the WWF.

I just find it hard to believe that a man who seems to me to mark for Jack Brisco and Dory Funk can mark for Bradshaw and Kane. Thats just my opinion though, hiopefully he'll explain all in a book once he retires
