Going to RAW 11/4

So, despite the HHH Effect, subpar wrestling and HNA (Hot Necro Action) on RAW, I'll still be going when WWE rolls into the Fleetcenter next week. It'll be the first WWF show I'll be attending since they closed the Garden. Now that I'm in school, I'm just a 10 minute train ride away, and I can't pass this up, since they won't be back until the Rumble and I'll probably be broke by then.

I think, at this point, I've realized that I'm a hopeless wrestling addict. Even with the crap, I'll still be seeing RVD, Chris Jericho, Ric Motherf'n Flair (might be my only shot) and Booker T live. TV, we can watch and criticize because it's free and impersonal, but still, just from what I remember from the Garden, the experience is unreal.

Hell, when I went to ROH back on Sept. 21, and I heard the roar from the Murphy Rec Center crowd when the SAT came out for the opening match, I got goosebumps. The Fleet, even with a less-than-capacity crowd, should be an electric experience.

I'm genuinely excited, despite everything. Wrestling runs that deep for me.

Awesome, dude. One of my favorite memories ever is when Smackdown! came to Charleston for the very first time. HHH had a match with Eddy and was feuding with Austin at the time (it was in February after Austin returned from the hit-by-a-car-angle). We hadn't seen Austin at all, but when the glass shattered, the entire place went nuts. It was great.

It was also cool to know that my voice is a part of the chorus that made the count with the ref when Rock pinned Big Show to go on to No Way Out before Mania X-7. I have it on tape somewhere. I was in the nosebleeds, but it was still awesome.

I had heard that RAW was coming to SC in November, along with SD!, but I haven't seen anything here about it. WWE.com has the Smackdown! in Columbia listed, which I hope I'll get to go to.

Have fun at the show.

Also, there is a good chance Steiner may debut at that show. Thats as big of bonus as there is - in my humble opinion, of course.

If there was a PPV near here I might go--get the cheap/free tickets they'll be passing out at the gate to try to fill the stands.

Raw and Smackdown are both in town here tonight and tomorrow and I have zero interest in going...I haven't wanted to go to a live show when they've been through in a while.

Although I'm sure a lot of people will get in for free to make the Joe look full tonight.

if anyone is going to the 11/5 Smackdown...then take a sign that says "Happy B-day RANDO~!" since my b-day is 11/7 (the day that SD would air)

SP, the tickets for the Columbia Smackdown went on sale on Saturday, and the Charleston Raw goes on sale this Saturday. I was on the floor for both Smackdowns here, ha.

I salute you, sir. Though now I have to ask you . . . when Kane/Undertaker came out for that first Heat match, how F'ing hot was the pyro down there? Back in the nosebleeds, facing the stage almost center, it was still pretty hot when it went off.

Thanks for the info, too. RAW doesn't concern me much, for obvious reasons, but if it winds up that SD! sells out before I can get to it, I'll end up at RAW . . . hopefully. Money would be needed first, though, heh.

-SP, who is broke.

Have fun, oh, and enjoy the show the best that you can. I still remember the first RAW I went to. It was on May 28th, 2001, and it was live from the Pengrowth Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta. Austin vs. Benoit was the main event for the WWE Title, which Austin won of course. Still it was great show.

Why was Austin winning a bad thing?

Anyways, Kane's was hot as shit, dude. Not as hot as Booker's when they came here the second time. I was on the ramp in the fifth row back on the side the camera was facing and Booker's was hot as hell. I had my replica title belt with me and hassled Jericho about it after the show was over and he was going up the ramp.

How nice of them was it to have that little post-show angle with Flair just so the Carolina folk could see him in the ring? And Austin decking the ring crew guys while trying to find another beer was gold.

I think it was the way Austin won that match (i.e. Bret rip #30647).

It wasn't bad that Austin won. I wanted him to win actually. Also, even though Austin was a heel, he got a fairly good pop from the crowd, as if he was the face. It wasn't as loud as Jericho's or Benoit's, though.

My first Raw (at MSG after SSlam) was good, even though it was sign to come of the crapiness of the last two-three months. I marked out for the reactions to the clip shows (the Rocky Sucks, cheers for UW, Hulk, Bret and Austin). Enjoy RAW and make a good sign.

Was that the the first SD here or the second? My step-brother was being stupid and wanted to leave right after the ref made the count so I missed everything after the camera's quit rolling.

Austin's confrontation with HHH and Eddie the first time was great, though. The contract with HHH for their match meant they couldn't touch each other so when Eddie pestered him to get a beer, he gave him a stunner and taunted Hunter. That was great.

Yeah. Up where we were, it felt like I started sweating for a second after the Kane heatflash. Hope we get a good SD! in Columbia.

Just try your hardest to get an arena-wide "booooooooooring" chant going as soon as Triple H's music stops and he begins his 20 minute promo. Do Not give up, keep trying.

It was the second Smackdown. Flair wasn't with the company at the time of the first. Hell, WCW still existed at the time of the first.

This is true. Hadn't thought about that, heh. Hopefully SC Smackdown! III will be as good as the first two.

And yes, if I wind up at the RAW here, I will do everything in my limited power to get the crowd to screw with Triple H. Muhaha.

-SP, who has very limited power in such things.

I could get the crowd to chant "boring." I'm charismatic like that. But seriously though, if you left after the Angle/Austin match then you missed the nWo unveiling, right? I had my section and the couple near it chanting "nWo" as that segment aired, hence the reason why they pretty much muted the crowd for Vince's last little talk with himself.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to go to SD!2 for monetary reasons, much like the ones that threaten my attendance for III in Columbia. The fact that you were involved in that is great, though. I doubt I'd be near enough to the ring to really make a difference as far as starting a chant, cheap person that I am, but I'd certainly give it a shot for the right people.

SP, who is sad that he missed SD!2 and the goodness therein mentioned by Kotz.

You could chant for Austin or RVD during the boring HHH/HBK 20 minute banter.

How does it work when they "paper" the stands? If I go to the Fleet Center on Monday and just loiter near the gate, will they let me in for free just to fill the place out, or is that not how they do it? Has anyone actually been paper-ed, or know someone who has?

I want to go to Raw, but refuse to pay for the crap that I'm sure they'll be bringing to Boston on Monday.
