Guest C-Bacon Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 -The upcoming WWE Smackdown taping in Worcester, Massachusetts has been canceled. houseshow or taping?
Guest notJames Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 It's definitely a taping... ... and Vince and Co. are definitely in trouble...
Guest Eagan469 Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 no - it would have been the night after Survivor Series, which would have been a Smackdown! house show
Guest AndrewTS Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 Raw's the show that sucks--why does SD get a taping cancelled?
Guest CanadianChick Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 I wouldn't take this too seriously. It doesn't say WHY they cancelled it.
Guest D'Lo White Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 Raw's the show that sucks--why does SD get a taping cancelled? Because Raw has HHH on it. If they cancel it and fans didn't get to see HHH they would riot.
Guest IB2BLACK Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 It's a house show, not a Smackdown taping.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 I always found it stupid for the Smackdown brand to have house shows on a Monday night. Yeah, I know there's "brand rivarly", but still....
Guest TheArchiteck Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 They have house shows on Monday? Odd...
Guest Kingpk Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 And the Northeast is usually WWE's best area of business. This is REALLY bad news if the reason was ticket sales (which it probably is).
Guest papacita Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 I always found it stupid for the Smackdown brand to have house shows on a Monday night. Yeah, I know there's "brand rivarly", but still.... Yeah, that is pretty stupid. By doing that, you're either setting yourself up for a disappointing turnout, or taking viewers away from Raw. It'd be better if they kept house shows confined to weekends.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 I went to a Smackdown house show on a Monday back in July. Wasnt a bad show but the turnout here for the WWE's first show in 7 years or something was like, terrible. Maybe 3,000 people..
Guest buffybeast Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 It was a Monday night house show with the Smackdown brand. I think those shows are almost always in smaller markets with smaller turnouts. I suspect the company wants to tighten up expenses.
