I think I Understand

Okay . . . theory time. But there's evidence here at least.

We've seen RAW decline horribly over the past few weeks. Bad, shoot from the hip storylines that seemed booked about three minutes before a segment airs. Not to mention, these quickbook storylines are gimmicky and just . . . just bad. People that should be getting pushes are being kept in the spotlight just enough to keep the smarks from rioting, with very vocal feelings on the matter.

But Smackdown . . . it's being booked beautifully. Storylines about titles and wrestling, decent time for matches here lately, and decent matches that do well without blowing all they've got on free TV. It's interesting, it's WRESTLING. And though there are cases where we feel certain people should be with a title, these people are not without pushes at all. They're there, in the spotlight big time, perhaps moreso than the Title holder and contender, but not in a way that detracts importance from the Title, really.

This remind anyone of anything? It's like Nitro and Good Raw all over again. And guess who is in charge of RAW.

I know there have been theories flying around about a WCW Nitro/RAW return for some time now, but I think it's already happened. Or it's fast on it's way, and it's being done quietly, and in storylines. I mean . . . we have "Brand" shows, feuding with one antoher over talent. Might as well call one WCW and one WWF, because the principle is pretty much the same, no?

And then Bisch's kiss with Stephie-Baby last night. Now this is where I leave evidence behind and promote a theory. Bisch masquerading as Vince kisses Daddy's Little Girl and . . . she likes it? So if Vince were going to make a return . . . it could concievably happen because his daughter and his past enemy (who is killing his flagship show now) begin consorting with one another.

Whatever happens, if anything . . . I think we're about to see the "Monday Night Wars" recreated here, at least I think it's going to come a little more full force, and be a war between "brands". Unless Bisch buys RAW or something, though I doubt that would happen. But then in this business, anything is possible, I suppose.

Feel free to shoot holes in my theory or tell me I'm an idiot, but overall feel free to discuss. This really interests me. If I'm right, Vince may be paying more attention to us than he's letting on. Because with RAW, it appears that he's blatantly trying to piss us off, and he's giving us, more or less, exactly what we know works with SD!. Something just seems off there.

That's what I said back in July, and people called me an idiot, while also saying that that's probably what they're gonna do, because it's stupid enough. I'm still thinking you're right on this.

Vince would have to be brain dead to want to tank his own show, just to herald the beginning of a ridiculous Nitro angle. He'd have nothing to gain. The 5 or 10 wCw fanboys who would crawl out of the woodwork and have a collective hard-on for the "new" show would be drowned out by the crowds of WW_ fans leaving the arenas and changing the channels.

No way is this being done deliberately.

those same WCW fanboys that they lost are of the older variety and know that its still just a Vince company backing up your point NJames

This whole competing GMs thing was always supposed to be a recreation of the Monday Night wars. I can see why they'd want to recreate that atmosphere in a "controlled setting" this time. But in my opinion, it has never made sense in execution.

As for Vince tanking his own show deliberately, no way.

And please nobody bring up the renaming it to Nitro crap.

Not.

Going.

To.

Happen.

I don't think he was aiming to tank it. I think in the process of trying to recreate the non-magic that was Nitro there towards the end, it wound up getting crappy.

My overall point was that there's such a vast difference between shows, and RAW is becoming so much like Nitro that it's scary sometimes. A theory came to mind, I presented it.

I also don't think that Vince would intentionally tank RAW. But I do think Vince would take a wild risk with ratings dying like they are to recover things, and I think maybe that risk wasn't calculated as nicely as he needed it to be.

The comparisons are glaring. The day Bischoff appears on RAW and gives away the plans for Smackdown because, "It'll be taped tomorrow night anyway!" or something is the day the whole thing just gets frightening. And I don't think it impossible. We all thought Necrophilia in a wrestling program was impossible once upon a time, too, but Vince labeled it "Sports Entertainment" and we were fed it.

So no, I don't put anything past Vince McMahon at this point. People blame HHH and all, but Vince is the boss. It's always been that way and it will always be that way, I can't believe otherwise. Too many ex-employess have said that it stops with Vince and that's just how it is. I don't put it past him, not one bit, to attempt to pull off the recreation of WCW. He doesn't need to rename RAW to Nitro, either. There are other ways. I do not put it past him to find them and try to exploit them. I think it's just failing horribly so he's speeding the process up a little with Bisch and Steph.

That's what I think is happening, personally. But as always, it's just theory so you just never know.
