Guest Kojack Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 When is The Rock coming back from his movie shooting. Do you think we will be a heel or a face? I personally think he will be a face since he gets pops cause he was gone for some time and also he has a movie coming out. Lastly what brand who should be on. On raw he can fued with HHH, Jericho, and RVD. ON Smackdown he can fued with Angle, Eddie, Benoit, Rey, Lesnar, and Edge. Also Stiener wherever he goes.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 The Rock!?!? Who's this Rock guy you speak of?
Guest Brian Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 I think in February or late January, maybe even by Rumble.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 If I were the Rock - never Realistically - A couple weeks before Wrestlemania so he can have a BIG match with someone before leaving a couple weeks later to go film his next movie..
Guest EricMM Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 If I were WWE I'd send someone to "interview" rock at his movie set or whatever. Have him blow them off. Have the guy say "Don't you think you owe the WWE fans an explaination for your abscence?" and he could be all "here's an explaination I make more money making one movie than I have working for those fans. Those people aren't worth my time." and he'd walk off with the producer or something. WWE could replay this interview a lot, to build heat etc. Then Bischoff or someone could pay him a lot of money to come back one time. He'd come back with thousand dollar shirts, and more sideburns than he had in recent years Bischofff "you're money in hollywood, and i wanted you to come tonight and make money for me. I knew your apprearance would bring in the viewers, so with no further ado, here's the rock!" Rock: (something along the lines of) "Finally the rock is back in (town) If you smell what the rock is cooking! *pop* now people you need to know your role and shut your mouth! I'm so glad to see all of you have come out to see me, so I could tell you what I've realized these past few months. I'm sick and tired of coming out here and spouting off these stupid lines for lowlifes like you all. People in hollywood know I'm capable of more, and they smell better than you all too. Bischoff I said my words, drew the crowd, and made you money. But thes jabronis remind me why I went to hollywood in the first place. I'm done." (cue faces music ETC.) Now I never watched WCW and I dunno if that's like Hollywood Hulk Hogans first promo, but I think it would work, especially if put against a good face. It would also imply that Rock didn't want to stay around too long so he could go off and make another movie anyways. Hell you could have a double turn with Jericho standing with Bischoff, and he defending wrestling against the rock or something. Is rock part of Smackdown? I really think he would be better used on RAW since it's not doing that well, and could use a breath of fresh air. I know HHH wasn't used, and so it might not be used as a RAW ME but honestly, I think it could be used to start a good program with rock.
Guest eirejmcmahon Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 I have so much respect for the Rock, I'd love to see him come back as a heel and put someone like Edge over at Wrestlemania - though I wonder how much juice is left in the Rock elevation machine.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 God, those heel Rock scenarios are too perfect.
Guest razazteca Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 The Rock does not need WWE Bookdust reviewing the movie would be funny
Guest AM The Kid Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 The Rock must come back as a heel...if not he's worthless. The Rock's little hellos every few months are getting annoying.
Guest jester Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 I agree that the Rock needs a heel turn. It looks like there's a fair amount of Rock backlash going on, I think the fans could get behind booing him again. Now here's why it won't work: The WWE will not change his personality. He will still behave like the Rock of old, same music, same catchphrases. Some People's Elbow. If they remembered how to do turns, they would have him change his name to "Hollywood Duane Johnson" or something like that, refuse to put on matches unless it was clear he was being well paid, and change his catchphrases and finisher. Which won't happen.
Guest eirejmcmahon Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 They'd have a hell of time trying to get the crowd to cheer Benoit over The Rock.
Guest SP-1 Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 They could have a Rock/Hogan rematch at Mania, with the roles reversed. The heelish Rock, with the Immortal Hulk Hogan attempting to bring him back to the side of good. Or bring him back as a face and have some other high profile matchup or short title reign where he holds the belt for a month before doing the job and going off to a new movie set. Eh. SP
Guest The Flying Dutchman Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 Spiderpoet, your scenario is just TOO great...that would be awesome.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 If Rock stayed around for any length of time a heel turn would be terrific. But he isn't. And that's a shame, as his last stint in the company was arguably his best ring wise, what with the matches with Eddy, Benoit and Brock kicking ass. Even had a good three way with the friggin Undertaker in it. It's like he came back and decided to be really good this time. Then he left again.
Guest RenegadeX28 Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 I am big fan of The Rock, and no doubt he is entertainnig. But ever since that RAW he made a comment about how Austin betrayed a family(WWE), I have started to not like Rock. HE is the one betraying the WWE. He is betraying his fans. When The Rock returns, he kills the current angles. They hotshot all the angles that has The Rock. All the time, "THE ROCK RETURNS!!" They overhype his return. The Rock says he loves wrestling. YEAH RIGHT! C'mon, when he appeared in Scorpion King, that got me PISSED. All that time off, and he only appeared in the first few minutes of the movie.... If he does return, I would love to see The Rock be a heel.
Guest wwF1587 Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 I cant wait for the rock to come back. But for god sakes, STAY FOR AWHILE DAMNIT, I can see him turning heel... in fact I wouldnt have it any other way.. maybe going over a face Brock and then headlining WM. Then leaving... ass. The Rock is the man, but I wander what he thinks of all the "backstages politics of HHH"... if he was on RAW.. would he get held down? I doubt it cause he is a huge star, but it could happen. Either brand, I cant wait for the rocks return...
Guest Brian Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 Hogan's not coming back. He wanted to take the title off Brock at Survivor Series; and then Vince dropped the bomb and wanted to beat him at Mania.

He was only gone for a week in May 2000 for filming. Anyways, Brian, am I reading that wrong or did you just say Vince wanted to beat Hogan at WrestleMania?
Guest Brian Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 No, you're not reading wrong. Vince wanted to pin Hogan. It was in the Torch and Figure Four this week, and Meltzer's preview looks like he will have the full story. So who's got the bigger ego now?
