Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 OK, there's 2 guys in the WWE, I'll call them "Dude 1" and "Dude 2". Let's take a look at each one, and figure out which would be the logical choice to push. Dude 1 has had more than a few pushes in the past, and really hasn't gotten over to any appreciable level. Dude 1 is devoid of any charisma, devoid of mic skills, and is pretty boring in the ring. In order to get him any kind of reaction, they've paired him w/ a hot chick and resorted to sophomoric humor, calling his fans, oh, let's say, "Dude-icles". He seems to be getting a reaction, but it's only because of said hot chick and said sophomoric humor. On the plus side, he's tall. And blonde. Dude 2 was given a pretty lame gimmick, and managed to get it over through sheer force of will. Dude 2 is pretty entertaining in his 2 roles (Ace Reporter Dude-ory 2, and the Dude-icane), and has a goofy kind of charisma which enabled him to get said goofy gimmick over. While not a great mic guy, Dude 2 is capable on the mic. Dude 2 is entertaining in the ring, has some innovative moves, and can pull off a "Holy Shit!" finisher when needed. Dude 2 has been over in the past, although the WWE has done a good job of killing it off, and can be over in the future if given a push (and possibly dropping his current gimmick). He's fairly new to the WWE scene, and would be a fresh face. To sum up: Dude 1: pros - tall, blonde cons - boring, no charisma, no mic skills, several failed pushes under his belt Dude 2: pros - charisma, entertaining, innovative moves, decent mic skills, has shown ability to get over, fresh face cons - gimmick has probably run its course, out of place on Raw Who would you push? Dude 2 seems like the obvious choice. So, naturally, the WWE decides to push Dude 1 ("creating new stars"? What?), going so far as to have Dude 1 squash Dude 2 each of the last 2 weeks in order to get him over. Good job, guys (What's the point of this? Just needed to vent)
Guest humongous2002 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Ahem.......Neither of them are getting a push, only God is the one getting push constantly.
Guest DragonflyKid Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 I would push Dude #3, he's a charismatic guy who has been successful in the past, has a good look and nice size, is a decent worker and good on the mic but is still under punishment for seriously injuring a fellow wrestler. Jobbing in squashes to green, unproven juice monsters ain't gonna help him. I like Dude #1, as far as big men go his has shown the potential to be a decent wrestler. He has the potential to improve because he still is very young so counting him out at this point is being premature, he has limited charisma but is not devoid of it. Dude #3 is one of my favorites, I don't think he can be a credible heavyweight though, at least not in the near future. I do think he will have to drop the gimmick sooner rather than later, but does he have the kind of charisma that will work without the aid of his current gimmick?
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Ahem.......Neither of them are getting a push, only God is the one getting push constantly. The man speaks the truth. If either of them were getting pushed, they'd have done something meaningful by now.

Eh, Dude'lo #3 has never really done anything for me. I liked his European Title reign, but nothing else has really worked for me. Dude #1 is probably one of the better big men in the company, but that's not saying much when the others are The Dude Show, The Dudertaker, Dude-kishi, and "The World's Strongest Dude". I've seen enough of Dude 1 to know he won't be a major player, but would be OK in the mid-card (just not squashing my man Dude #2 ) And I'm assuming you mean Dude #2 in your last paragraph. I don't understand why they ever took him off SD. He fit in much better on that roster (either in tag action, or as a single). There's not really anybody on Raw he matches up with.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 I feel like I just watched BASEketball like 800 times after all those "dudes"...
Guest razazteca Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 I prefer the Dude(s) who has been stuck in tag teams forever, both are Canadian and are undersized but work wonders on the mic, after nearly of year of BeardDude's character assassination by god-uh, He has been doing well. While OperaDude was put in an anti-government stable that went nowhere, was tag team champ with SeriousDude but now plays sidekick to BeardDude. These 2 dudes with attitudes shall go places but god-uh will continue-uh to let them sit in midcard fighting fat bastards and gheys and eventually to muscle bound freaks.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 What about Dude #4? You know...Dude #4 who somehow got himself over in spite of the Invasion disaster that was going on around him, and remains over despite lack of doing anything all year? Dude #4 who gets his name chanted (DUDE-NUMBER-4) even when his tag partner of the day is supposed to be getting the hot tag? Dude #4 is criticized for not being able to talk...while the one and only pushed guy gets a ton of time to talk...and hasn't said anything meaningful or NOT boring in years. Dude...whatever.
Guest Flyboy Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 I smirked at bps' post... but Dude #4 is in Hell.
Guest Flyboy Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Damn.. did HHH really call himself 'God' last night? I didn't even watch Raw (not that I'm complaning)... I was too busy going through emotional shit (bitches) and watching Monday Night Football.
Guest mach7 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 How about Dude #5? You know, that Dude-a-rooni, dude? Is it just me, or does WWE have something against African-American wrestlers at the top of their roster? Don't say "But the Rock..." he's disqualified, because he's mixed. ;p I'm still seriously perplexed about how that rednecked JR can be allowed to even THINK of using the word "COON" on-air... *sigh*
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 bps: You must mean the Dude who needs another Dude to work inbetween his high spots to put on a watchable match. Yeah, that dude. The original Dude #2 does nothing for me. I like his working, but the superhero gimmick is almost insultingly bad, and let's be balls-out honest and admit that the speech impediment hinders the micwork. Sad, but true. Has Dude #1 ever worked as a face? Ever? Between Team Corporate, the T&A tag team, Immunity Contracts, and his current gig, I can't think of once where he's been a face. Now that he finally cut his hair, perhaps a shave and a face turn will give him a last chance to get over. (and speaking of face-heel, why is Stacy a heel now, too? The crowd goes nuts for her. It's like every big-tittied porn star wannabe is a face in this fed, and every girl who looks almost normal and has that girl next door charm is turned heel) The person who I'd like to see get pushed is the Dude with the spinning thing and the catchphrases. Raw already has enough heels with strong mic skills to help overcome his lack of them (talking to Eric Dudeoff was like talking to a brick wall, and thus his crowd heat died a few weeks ago.) He's the only Dude there that's over AND has the tools to put on a main event match, no matter how much fans of that Kung-Fu dude with all the high spots want to disagree.
Guest Flyboy Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 How about Dude #5? You know, that Dude-a-rooni, dude? That Dude bores me. But, so does Dude #6. You know... Dude that does the finger across the throat thing. So I must not know much.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 What about Dude #5 and all his Dude-A-Nites? This Dude returned from an injury this past August, and received a shot at the World Title at No Mercy, where God beat him. Now, he's going into the Survivor Series, where I hope he wins the World Title. Though, I also want Dude #6, the Heartbreak Dude, to win the World Title. As for Dude #4, well, it would be good if he won. Then, you have Beard Dude and Dude T. I'm pulling for Dude #5 to win it all.
Guest goodhelmet Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 ok as for dude #1, this may be a push, but rest assured, that the gimmick is horrible and he'll be jobbing to dude pick-a-number in no time. dude #2 is entertaining but i don't buy him as a contender... simple as that. a perfect compliment to the midcard but that's about it. dude #3, if we are talking about the SUCKA, deserves a push but not because of anything he has done in the ring in the past year but because he is unbelievably over, moreso than dude #4. dude #4 needed dude WOOOOO! to be his manager yesterday and while i was initially against dudeps21's idea of a heel turn, his pops have leveled out to where i think it may just work now.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 "bps: You must mean the Dude who needs another Dude to work inbetween his high spots to put on a watchable match. Yeah, that dude." That's the one. The one who most paying fans are infinitely entertained by, although there are a few haters out there. When only 6,000 people show up to RAW, and all of them chant your name...you deserve a push. Let's not be all elitist about workrate while guys like HHH, Taker and Hogan were the last to hold the belt.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 WOOO!!!!! The shitty booking of the WWE has turned another person to my turn RVD heel theory! WOOO!!!!!
Guest Flyboy Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 dude #3, if we are talking about the SUCKA, deserves a push but not because of anything he has done in the ring in the past year but because he is unbelievably over, moreso than dude #4. Did you just say that Booker T. is more over than RVD?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 That's a myth that is completely without proof unless there is a spinaroonie or the word Sucka present. Actual in ring wise, Booker is as heatless as anyone else.
Guest Flyboy Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Speaking of which, when was the last time Booker T. got his name chanted during a match? Then... when was the last time RVD got his name chanted? Last night? (I'm guessing, I didn't watch).
Guest goodhelmet Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 actually that may be true on raw since i haven't watched it in full the last two months. but on the ppv's, rvd's matches haven't exactly been lighting up the house. and flyboy, i said it so why don't you add to it or not say anything at all!
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Booker's was a month ago when the crowd realized they could chant his name Book-Er-T, like R-V-D. Apparently susequent crowds haven't been as smart.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 I haven't seen a ppv in a while... but I do know that if you put Booker in the ring with Flair and HHH..it would soud... well...alot like last night.
Guest goodhelmet Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 but if you put face booker in with a heel rvd, with dude WOOOO on his side, or even face booker with heel jericho, i think you take that statement back. they have been hinting at a booker-jericho program and i think it may just be the feud to rejuvenate both guys, provided hhh stays out of the way.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 it's possible. But has yet to be seen. They put Book near HHH...so his heat is bound to suffer.
Guest goodhelmet Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 don't get me wrong. i like dude#4. i have been one of the few who has consistently helped you face off the naysayers. but i also think that when put with talented workers, dude #3 is just as capable of handling that spot. and his mic work entetains me as well, IF that is part of the criteria. and with dude-dust by his side, i just MIGHT start watching raw again if he was the focal point.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Hey you don't have to tell me. In my elimination chamber column (see sig) I said that Booker was the best choice to give the win too. But I'm not going to ignore that while he has the potential to do big things, there is apparently a long waiting period when you get to that point. If they pushed you when you are ready...you might get over too much.
