Guest DeputyHawk Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 by winning the Elimination Chamber, all he really did was join Razor Ramon, Jeff Jarrett, Chris Benoit & Chris Jericho as a 4-time Intercontinental title holder. The lineage passed when HHH beat Kane at No Mercy to unify the I-C with ... whatever title it is exactly that HHH holds. Whenever the company decides to call it quits on the split, whether sooner or later, they're not going to keep this 'World heavyweight title' kicking around to denegrate their genuine belt, and we will probably see the I-C title have the mothballs blown off it at that time. All Triple-H & Shawn are doing is keeping that belt warm with a different name on it.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 I'm pretty sure Jarrett snagged around 6 IC title wins. Just saying.
Guest DeputyHawk Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 okay, that wasn't really my point, but yes jarrett won 6 i-c titles. i was essentially just speculating that when the split plays out the i-c title will return and this elevated prestige nonsense will simply become part of its lineage. it would have been so much easier if they just kept the big gold belt above vince's fireplace or wherever it was nestling in the first place, and just made the i-c the focus of the raw roster.
