Guest Mole Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Okay, when Triple-Juice first came back after his quad injury, he came back at MSG. When he came out, he received a MONSTER pop. Vince is all about what happens at MSG, so maybe part of his push comes from that massive pop. Does that mean that his push was warranted more because of the pop, or just because he is fuckin Steph? I mean, it makes sense, I think.
Guest midnight_burn Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 I think he would have been pushed down our throats regardless of the reaction he got there.
Guest snowfan Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 I think he would have been pushed down our throats regardless of the reaction he got there. Big Steph is booking her reality on us.... thus we get Crips with the John Holmes "push"...
Guest BoboBrazil Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Benoit got a monster pop when he returned. Of course they turned him heel that night and put him right in the midcard.
Guest bob_barron Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Wow- Triple Juice- at least it beats saying -uh which isn't saying much. HHH was gonna get a large push if his comeback was in MSG or not. But I was there and it was LOUD
Guest Kamui Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 I was there as well, and Bob is understating it- it was BEYOND LOUD. I'm not defending him or anything, just saying, but if they gave Crash Holly the kind of hype for his return they gave HHH, I think he would have came pretty damn close to HHH's reaction too. -Duo
Guest JHawk Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Well, when Trips came back, they were expecting 2000-2001 Triple H, not 2034 Triple H. Had he been wrestling even remotely like he was before the injury, there'd be no such thing as a HHHater.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Hell, I was excited when HHH came back. I made U2 jokes, but I was still excited. 2 months later, my beloved Jericho was dead, and I saw the truth. *weeps bitterly*
Guest bob_barron Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 HHH's return came off much better live then it did on TV. When I watched it later I was like: Shouldn't he stop posing??

And yes, I know that he was going to get a large push if he got a loud pop or not. It was basically a joke, to show how silly Vince is when it comes to MSG. HHH's return came off much better live then it did on TV. When I watched it later I was like: Shouldn't he stop posing?? Yes, I was there live too, and I was thinking the same thing. 'Damn, Triple-Juice, get in the damn ring and say something.'
Guest bob_barron Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 The HHH jokes have just become really lame in my eyes but I was commenting on how it beats people who every post is like: I'm gonna hold them down-UH! I think Vince should really listen to the Survivor Series crowd since I think Big Show winning killed the crowd for the tag match. Angle/Benoit getting eliminated first didn't help much.

Oh, I just write Triple-Juice because no one else calls him that, and I wanted to be orignal. Besides, he really does use Juice, so it isn't too much of a joke.
Guest DeputyHawk Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 fascinating... anyway, both points are valid: the amount of hype he got for his comeback, and the in-ring quality he displayed before his injury are what caused the monster pop at msg. he was going to be the promotion's 2002 centrepoint no matter what, as austin and rock were already getting stale by that point. didn't work out too well for them after he started wrestling again instead of just posing and spitting, but hey.
