I'm just currious, that's all. Have any of you ever watched one on there? If so, how is the quality, how big is the screen, etc...?

Sincerely,

This is all third-hand, since I've never ordered one. But I read that the qualtiy was bad, and I doubt they'd give you the option to download it or anything, should you want to. But this was all from when they began the webcasts a while ago.

Well I ordered SurSer 2001 on webcast. But I, being a moron, realized that my college network sucks big time so all I got was audio. So, to make an actual point in regards to your question, if your connection isnt quality dont even bother. And it was a small screen.

In good webcast history I saw WM 2000 for free, after that they stopped having them so I guess that was very common. The picture for that was quality but the screen was still small.

I few PPVs back someone posted the webcast for free, and the quality looked good on a cable connection. If someone knows where to watch it again maybe they'll mention it. Otherwise, don't waste your money, you can download the matches the next day anyway.

Who in their right mind would pay $25 for a webcast? That is just ridiculous.

When WCW used to have webcasts for their ppvs, you go to the WCW chatroom on the irc client server and people would post you a password and login for it. The quality was decent for a 56k, but the difference was, the WCW telecast was mainly audio, and they advertised that you would get a live picture every 5 seconds, so it worked. Considering the bandwith needed and buffered in order to present the PPV over the net with current technology on home pcs, it is nearly impossible to get TV quality. If you are interested, find a wrestling chat room on IRC, and they will surely give away passwords.

Actually, it seems they are $17.95 now. It looks like they lowered the price. Still a ridiculous amount to pay for a webcast in my opinion.
