Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 Kurt Angle is set to undergo knee surgery on Thursday. Because of that, it is expected that WWE will run an angle tonight at the Smackdown taping to explain his time away. He is not scheduled to be at the next Smackdown taping in Tulsa. Guest Angle-plex Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 So Big Show will injure Angle tonight, which will make Angle look even more like a fake champion?
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 So Big Show will injure Angle tonight, which will make Angle look even more like a fake champion? It sure as hell better not be Albert, I mean A-Train
Guest the pinjockey Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 Then Brock will run down make the save and console the injured Angle just to make sure you know who is the man.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 Benoit attacks Angle. Simple effective. Sets up the supposed Rumble match.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 At the PPV they were intimating that the Guerrero v Benoit was for the #1 Contenders spot. I think it'll be A-Train that injures Angle with Benoit's help in some way.
Guest Zero_Cool Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 Yeah..you could have it be in the opening promo. Angle comes out, title proudly slung around his shoulder, and as the crowd tells him that he sucks, he continuosly points to the belt, telling the fans to look at the scoreboard for a change. Anyway, Angle starts talking about how he defeated Big Show, and while not needing his help, Brock Lesnar was there for support. So, Kurt calls out Lesnar, so that they can solidify their battle at the Royal Rumble....but Brock is caught in traffic, as reported by Cole and Tazz before Angle started talking... *Duh-duh-duh-duh-duh...duh-duh-to DUH!* Out comes Benoit, feeling cocky tonight after defeating his former best friend in the REAL match of the night at Armageddon. Anywho, Benoit comes into the ring to a mixed reaction, and gets a microphone from a techie down, outcide the ring. The Canadian Crippler proclaims that since he beat Eddy Guerrero in an implied Number One Contender's match, he should get the shot, NOT Brock Lesnar. Angle, title still around his shoulder, puts it so elequently that he promised the shot to Brock Lesnar, and he will get his shot first. Benoit continues to pressure Angle into giving him the first shot, bringing up their history and whatnot. Finally, after a heated arguement, a nice brawl breaks out, with no sing of anyone coming out to stop it. After an Angle Slam delivered to Benoit from Angle, Kurt does his famous "WHOO!" and goes outside to retrieve a steel chair. However, Angle takes too much time showboating, and as he comes into the ring, Benoit gives him a low blow. Immediate, The Rabid Wolverine attacks the knee, slamming away with some vicious chairshots. As Angle howls in pain, Benoit hits him with another shot to the head, temporarly disabling Angle. Benoit, as only Benoit can, drags Angle to the corner, and throws on the old ringpost figure four. He holds onto the hold for at least a minute, maybe two, as the officials finally hit the ring to put a stop to the madness. The match is set for Royal Rumble, as Angle, being wheeled out of the arena on a stretcher, screams to Stephanie that he wants Benoit at the Royal Rumble. Stephanie is forced to listen to the Champion. The next week, she comes out to the ring to make her announcement. Immediately after the announcement is made, Lesnar's theme hits, and the jacked up crowd immediately erupts. The whole segment ends with a very angry Lesnar...not showing hatred for Steph, but for Angle, as Kurt played him. RR: Ange defeats Benoit clean to retain the title in a ****1/2 classic. Brock Lesnar wins the Royal Rumble, further solidfying his status a main event player, as he now has two shots gauranteed to him, but the two are molded into one shot at WM. No Way Out: Brock Lesnar defeats Chris Benoit for the number one contendership at WM. Angle defeats (insert heel here...Big Show?) to retain the title. End result: It's on for WM, Angle vs. Lesnar. I think that both guys look strong here, although their may be a few logic holes, like the two title shots thing. Meh, at least there's an advanced idea on how they could do this.
Guest Brian Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 If Angle's going to be out and injured, why didn't they just keep the title on Brock in the first place? And keep him heel? And have him injure Angle?
Guest razazteca Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 so who on Smackdown is not injuried?
Guest the pinjockey Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 A-Train because he is a H....oh never mind.
