Guest teke184 Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 ZERO. That is the exact number of house show sellouts the WWF has had in October and November in the United States. If THAT isn't a sign that things are in free fall, nothing is. Meltzer has said this is the worst that WWE house show business has been since the last month of Diesel's title reign, seven years ago last month, which was also the last time the Clique had complete control of the company.
Guest tpww7 Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 I've been to two house shows this year, one in August and November. And the arena was about 20 % full both times. It's a mixture of no one giving a crap about the WWE anymore/ people realize nothing important has happened at house shows in a long time.
Guest HartFan86 Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 I went to a house show in July in Portland, ME. Little - to no promotion. Arena holds 8,000 or so. 3,000-3,500 people showed up. PATHETIC>
Guest teke184 Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 What's fucking pathetic about this whole situation is that I went to a house show in late April, right after the split started, and it was a packed house of probably 6000-7000. While that might not seem like much, keep in mind this was a Smackdown house show running in an area with NO UPN station.
Guest bob_barron Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 I went to a house show in June at MSG that wasn't sold out but I think did pretty good attendance.

Then the WWF messed up the split and attendance has been falling since.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 They'll refuse to quit on the Brand extension, I am sure of it. They will continue to play all of the cards they think will 'save' them (Steiner now, Nash when he rerturns, and then Goldberg maybe). Only then will they realise that things creatively need to be changed and Vince will not allow HHH to have his way with things.
Guest Ram Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 I went to a house show a few months ago that was 3/5 sold out. Of course, the last real wrestling show we've had was a WCW show back in 96 I think. The wrestlers put on a hell of a performance though. Too bad not too many people came out to see them.
Guest Angle-plex Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 I think we can all agree that Tough Enough is to blame for this house show problem. And Jericho. It always has something to do with Jericho.
Guest tpww7 Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 And RVD. How could you forget about him?
Guest Angle-plex Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 I truely believe the only reason that the Smackdown! house shows haven't been doing good is because Demott hasn't squashed enough cruiserweights yet. Give him time.
Guest tpww7 Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 Once TE is over the Demott push will be over.

It always has something to do with Jericho. LOL. That was f'n great, Angle-plex. The WWE needs to do something about the house shows. Maybe just have split house shows? Half of it Raw and half of it SD as opposed to having full SD/full Raw house shows. Add more flavor and intrest. Batista main eventing house shows is baaaaad.
Guest tpww7 Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 Batista main eventing house shows is baaaaad. Batista main evented house shows? When?
Guest Angle-plex Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 Once TE is over the Demott push will be over. That's what they want you to think..... And even if they DO end his push, then that means that they made all those cruiserweights look bad for nothing? I've already gotten the picture that nobody under 200 pounds has no chance of beating Bill Demott.

I refuse to pay full price to see half the roster. I want to see all the main eventers and my fav stars.
