Guest William E Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Does anyone have the same feeling that they won't let this angle just die. I was watching that god awful segment hoping that it would have some kind of blowoff like the Billy and Chuck fiasco and just end, but it seems like this soap opera crap is going to take up time that could be used for wrestling.
Guest Downhome Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 It should be against forum rules to EVER make mention of this after tonight, really, it should be. Maybe if we just pertend it didn't happen, it'll just, go away.
Guest Mole Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Well, for the good of the WWE I wish they would end this angle. However, at the same time, there was NO payoff to the angle. I mean, they just got married, plain and simple. Maybe, since all of the marriages in the past never went through, Vince actually went through with the wedding, so it won't piss some people off. I dunno, there has to be more to this, even though I really don't care to know what it is.

Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 CHRIST! It lives at least another week...God hates me. This is far and away the most boring thing Vince has done in years...maybe ever. The feud might have worked had Dawn Marie (a non wrestler) at least been given ONE WIN over Torrie (another non wrestler). They had matches and bikini face off shit and Dawn jobbed every single time, that's just bad booking. Between Rikishi and this shit I'm half way to stop watching the show all together.
Guest geniusMoment Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 The only payoff to that angle that would leave me satisfied is if austin, rock, foley and shane douglas (I mark out for him) come out of the crowd destroy Al Wilson and Dawn Marie and leave but not before saying their wwe contracts are up and they are starting their own promotion that will air on FX network opposite raw

I still say let's pretend it's not there, so shhhhhhhhhhh everybody!
Guest CanadianChick Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 1) This angle sucks, alot. 2)It involves 3 non-wrestlers and bad actors 3)It has nothing to do with Wrestling 4)It has nothing to do with Entertainment What is the point of this angle again?
Guest RedJed Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 If any wedding segment demanded a swerve or at least some sort of payoff, this was it. And seeing them both in their skivvies wasn't it! I don't see how anyone in creative thought this was the best idea, but whatever I guess. Can't have everything done right. What I thought should have happened (and it still might) is Kidman at some point being revealed to be Dawn Maries real love interest or something. That gives him more purpose as a heel, and I think it could be a good way to introduce Spanky, as a new love interest of Torries or something that comes to fight for her and her foolish father. Could be a great idea to build to Mania, in fact.
Guest NoCalMike Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 my biggest problem is that they seemed to want to press the issue that Torrie felt Dawn was using Al for something other than love, yet Dawn never even has tendencies to stray from AL.....ever. It just makes no sense. Maybe this angle ends with the "limo crashing" and Dawn survives but not poor AL, and then Torrie accuses of her killing him and......whoa....wait a minute, I almost sounded like a WWE writer.
Guest phoenixrising Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Good thing you stopped right there. Four possible payoffs would satisfy me right now with this. 1) Drop the angle altogether and pretend it never happened. 2) A new wrestler, or one with a new gimmick somehow gets involved and this leads up to his introduction. 3) All the Smackdown wrestlers run to the ring and hit their finishers on Al Wilson. 4) My personal fav. See, it's all a big plot by Dawn Marie. She just got Al so she could get to Torrie. In reality she plans to start a lesbian harem of the WWE divas and starts by turning Torrie into a lesbian. Then she goes through each woman in turn making them lesbian slaves to her. Sadly, this angle would probably end when Dawn tries to recruit Stephanie into her harem and Stephanie squashes her and frees the divas. And before you ask, yes it has been a while since I have gotten any.
Guest midnight_burn Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 The payoff will be a Torrie/Al incest angle, i'm more sure of it every day. Whether Torrie and Al deliberately get it on, or Dawn somehow tricks Al into doing it with Torrie thinking it was Dawn or something like that, there will at least be implied incest by the time the feud is over, which may be a few years from now at it's current rate.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Although his impressions of Al made me laugh, adding Billy Kidman to the mix did nothing more than throw another bad actor into the mix.
Guest jester Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Didn't Dawn Marie say they would be sending in updates from the Honeymoon, thus guaranteeing The Angle That Would Not Die will be continuing? Sheesh. Even HHH and Kane had a few real matches over Katie Vick.
Guest LaParkaMarka Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 You know, I think I'm starting to find this angle amusing. I mean, Will Scarlett in the Smackdown thread thought it was utterly hilarious, and it kind of is. The angle just refuses to end, and continues to go absolutely nowhere. It's crazy. Like a trainwreck. Just try to laugh at it next time, and you might actually enjoy it for what is it: utter wrestlecrap.
Guest y2jailbait Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Its wierd that Damn Marie was featured in WWE or Raw magazine as "The Hardest Working WWE Superstar." Now look at her, pure T n A. And in a bad angle to boot. Here's to reuniting The Impact Players!
Guest Bricks Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Thanks to the DEAN Workrate Reports, I'm loving the whole Al Wilson/Dawn Marie angle in a guilty pleasure way despite it being completely meaningless and going absolutely nowhere except for showing that Al Wilson is a MAN among men.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 I thought somehow Torrie would present some information she found from 30 years or so ago...that Dawn Marie was a product of an Al Wilson one night stand while Torrie's mom and dad were on a break, Thus, Al is Dawn's daddy. Great, now I sound like a WWE writer. I was secretly praying for a Simon Diamond run in and for Al to get destroyed. P.S. That minister was just a bad actor and annoying on top of that
Guest Ash Ketchum Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 At least Al Wilson makes me laugh because he is SUCH A BUMBLING IDIOT!!!! The guy looks soooooo lost out there, like he's got no idea what he's doing or why he's doing it. And hey, Tazz and Cole are hilarious when they rip on Al and Dawn. It could be worse... It could be Vince instead of Al Wilson.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 But Vince is an alright actor when he wants to be...Al Wilson isn't
Guest Downhome Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 After being forced to see Al Wilson's erection, there is nothing at all that can be be called a "payoff", which will make me think all of this has been worth it.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Can someone please tell me the point of all of this!? It has no possible payoff that has wrestling or let alone entertainment value! It doesn't lead to any matches between any good wrestlers(torrie and dawn who the hell cares!?). ARGH! WHY ARE THEY SO DUMB!?
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 I can't believe I'm the only one who gets this feud. It's SUPPOSED TO BE BAD. The announcers are poking fun at it, and reveling in the shittyness. This is the wrestling equivlent of MST3K, and Heyman KNOWS it. Right now Tazz is Servo and Cole is Crow. I predict this angle will end when Austin comes out and stuns them both a million times, and announces he wants to be in the Rumble.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Please GOD. 3-5 weeks ago, ideally.
