Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 The word making the rounds today is that the year-in-review Raw on Monday did a 2.8 cable rating. We hope to have the full numbers later today. Brock Lesnar got multiple stitches last night to close the cut from the Matt Hardy chairshot. Also, the word going around at Smackdown last night was that if you have hated the Al Wilson-Dawn Marie angle of late, get ready to hate it some more because they have more of the same planned for the future. Tonight's main event in Honolulu has been changed. It was supposed to be Scott Steiner vs. Triple H, but it will now be Steiner and Rob Van Dam vs. H and Batista. I am not sure if it's due to H's leg injury or whether it's because ticket sales for the show are so low. Or, maybe it's a combination of both. 1wrestling.com
Guest AndrewTS Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Until BPS comes in here to gloat.. BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! Well, of course, it's Blatista they are counting on to draw, of course.

Guest AndrewTS Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Soooo....this means we were right? Steiner gets pops from dumbass marks, but doesn't draw? And they often sub RVD matches in the last match of the night slot, or put RVD in main event tag matches. So, anyone who says RVD doesn't draw is at least wrong for house shows. But, Steiner vs. HHH, a match they are hyping up like hell, can't draw. *snicker* Although--if Steiner is facing HHH at the Rumble...then RVD... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Although--if Steiner is facing HHH at the Rumble...then RVD... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!! It's just a house show.

We hope to have the full numbers later today. That was expected, from me anyhow. Brock Lesnar got multiple stitches last night to close the cut from the Matt Hardy chairshot. Who wants to be the first to bet that this means the end of the Mattitude push? Also, the word going around at Smackdown last night was that if you have hated the Al Wilson-Dawn Marie angle of late, get ready to hate it some more because they have more of the same planned for the future. They'll never learn, ever. Tonight's main event in Honolulu has been changed. It was supposed to be Scott Steiner vs. Triple H, but it will now be Steiner and Rob Van Dam vs. H and Batista. I bet HHH is just giddy over it.

Maybe, because Batista is sorta associated with HHH. However, it would suck to have to see the Rumble featuring RVD jobbing to Brock Lesnar v. 2.0 and his sit-out crotch-sniffing power moves of doom. And I want to see Jericho vs. HBK too. =/
Guest jester Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Well, let's ask ourselves, who jobs? HHH, Steiner, Batista, or RVD. Steiner just got here and hasn't wrestled, so he's not jobbing. Batista's got the unstoppable monster gimmick, so he's not jobbing. HHH is not jobbing because he is The Most Important Man in Wrestling Ever and the Reason Why We Watch Wrestling, at least according to the McMahons. Which leaves RVD. This is like when they inserted Jericho into three-way matches. So he could carry the match before jobbing.

Ok...whose the wise ass who gave positive feedback on this angle? And that main event in Honolulu sounds pretty good. I wouldn't mind seeing it.
Guest geniusMoment Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 What does Al know about vince? It must be blackmail, why will they continue this? The only thing worse then Al Wilson is kidman impersonating him.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 Ok...whose the wise ass who gave positive feedback on this angle? That would be...me.
Guest Mole Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 Don't fret, it is just a house show. I am sure they had a reason that it wouldn't draw for not putting them the main event. I mean, house shows are in my area a lot, and I don't go to them. If Steiner vs HHH were around here, I wouldn't pay to see it. I can just wait till the Rumble. I am sure the fans in Hawaii feel the same.
Guest Choken One Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 Since this is a special trip, Why not just give your LONG awaited fans a GOOD match like Jericho/RVD or something?
Guest bravesfan Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 HHH/Steiner was just announced for the show, so it's not a matter of those two drawing. Add that to the fact that since Friday's show was added as a last-minute band-aid because of Thursday's sell-out, fans were not aware of it. The lower-arena tickets were $90.00 apiece, FYI. Since this is a special trip, Why not just give your LONG awaited fans a GOOD match like Jericho/RVD or something? Well, the atmosphere was worth every penny this time around, so the matches didn't even matter. Hawaii fans will show up in droves, once the brand split ends and the Rock is back. People want to see a star-card top-to-bottom.
