Guest Creepy Crawl Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 I used to think they were dumb , like baseball card bubble gum , now I think they are funny like Monopoly money He got rid of those horrible trunks , that made him look like a skunk , now hes with B2 , and I like this crew He can out rap Rikishi , with his hair so greasy ...... Hey atleast I tried LOL . I have gotten to where I actually look foward to hearing what the guy has to say . Now if they can just get him away from jobbing to Rikishi and get him and B2 in a good fued with Eddie and Chavo I think he might actually become a pretty good heel . And please give the guy a finisher . He is already getting some pretty descent heat from the crowd . He still needs to work on his in ring skills but his gimmick just cracks me up . When he 1st came in I was like oh dear lord who is this dork , but now that he has went with this whole rapper gimmick it is actually one of the highlights of the show to me when he comes out . I thinks its pretty funny too when he does the commentary with Cole and Tazz , with Cole playing stupid and Cena just ripping on him . A few weeks back when they had him hanging out with V1 I was hoping they would go somewhere with that beacuse I think those two could make for some pretty funny stuff . What do y'all think ?
Guest LJSexay Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 I've always liked him *ducks head*... I don't know WHY in the world they put B-2 with him. I never EVER liked Buchanan, EVER. But at least Cena is getting some nice air-time and character development. Wish he was put in the ring with someone who'd let him show off just what he can do though,
Guest TheArchiteck Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Well he's gotten better since he first started. He actually starting to flow with the beat now. And he's adding in some funny lines now. He still not good though. But his facial expressions while doing it is gold.
Guest HartFan86 Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 I've always liked Cena too. I think he's hilarious.
Guest Aero Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 I still don't like him much at all, but I'll give him credit for some decent rapping. He actually managed to rap all of his commentary on Smackdown. Out of nowhere, he got something out like, "Quit dissin', Chioda was out of position!" Hey, remember when everyone in WWE used to call him "The Future of WWE?"
Guest creativename Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 "I listen to Biggie, Biggie taught me what beef is" is some funny ass sh*t. I liked Cena before, but hated his tights and his "rookie" gimmick. That was just awful. Now of course he's a lot more interesting and it looks like his character is going somewhere.
Guest Anglesault Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Terrible. But no better or worse than any other rap.
ChrisMWaters Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Cena is getting better. B-2...eh, I guess this is to say "Well, it may not be Right To Censor, but you're back on TV." And maybe this rap twosome will be better than Men on a Mission.
Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Rap makes me want to bash my head against a brick wall. And Cena is the best comedy JTTS this year....sigh
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 I hate this gimmick. I hate every music-based gimmick that isn't 3Count.
ChrisMWaters Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 I hate this gimmick. I hate every music-based gimmick that isn't 3Count. You didn't like classic Jeff Jarrett? That's J-E-DOUBLE F! J-A-DOUBLE R-E-DOUBLE T! That's Double J, Jeff Jarrett!
Guest cabbageboy Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 I am becoming a fairly big mark for Cena due to his silly gimmick. It's like one of those gimmicks that is so bad it's good.
Guest AfricanAmerican Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 I still don't like him much at all, but I'll give him credit for some decent rapping. Hey, remember when everyone in WWE used to call him "The Future of WWE?" scott keith said the exact same thing in his rant...
Guest saturnmark4life Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 If he writes that stuff himself, I have to give him credit. Whilst it's hard to see, being overshadowed by the gimmick itself, he's a tremendous actor and talker. Without the undercard stupidity he'll be a star, one day.
Guest Anglesault Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Rap makes me want to bash my head against a brick wall. Join the club.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 Man, imagine if he combined "The Rookie" with "Rappin", he could rhyme "Test" with "Dentist". I admit, Cena won me over.
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 I think his gimmick - however horrible it really is and however horrible rap is - is going to get him over. Hes not a bad rapper (no worse that Feminem as far as I'm concerned) and the fact that he can keep a straight face while doing it shows that he can play different characters with ease.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 Cena completely won me over last night during the Eddie-Kidman match when he said: "You don't know me! I'm Darth Vader and you are Obi Won Kinobi! What!? What!?" That line alone has inspired me to take up Thuganomics while I continue to practice Mattitude.
ChrisMWaters Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 I still say they should bring back Men on a Mission for a short time to be with Cena and B-2... Total Hip Hop Clash right there!
Guest Nater Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 I think he's gotten better and still has a lot of improvement. Most of the rap we are used to has evolved over years. The guy is a Green Rapper and a Green Wrestler, but because he is new talent, I hope it goes far.
Guest CED Ordonez Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 I still say they should bring back Men on a Mission for a short time to be with Cena and B-2... Total Hip Hop Clash right there! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! ...OK, I could accept a Cena and B-2 music video with Cena doing the Men on a Mission rap nearly verbatim, but please don't bring back Men on a Mission.
Guest buffybeast Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 Cena's rapping is so horrible it's funny. I love his new gimmick. "Thuganomics" has me rolling on the floor every time. Bull "B2" Buchanan has absolutely no business in this role. He's like a fish on land. He's out of place.
Guest Anglesault Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 Cena's rapping is so horrible lace. He sounds just like Eminem. And Dr. Dre. And the Big Fat Guy that had the other guy killed.

You are obviously not a hip hop fan. Cena sounds NOTHING like Eminem or Biggie. Cena wouldn't even get radio airplay if he were a legit rapper.
Guest RickyChosyu Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 It's an amusing curtain jerker character. The WWE seems like a developmental territory half the time anyway, they might as well make the scrubs entertaining. I'm waiting to buy my "Thuganomics" shirt the day it comes out.

I could run out there, say fuck 18 times, call my sister a whore, and threaten to kill a c list celebrity and be named Rap superstar of the year.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 I can deal with the gimmick. I don't like it, but I can deal with it. But Bull Buchannan trying to look like Eminem With Muscles (hey, there's an idea for a new Hogan movie) is just goddamn ridiculous. Who okay'd that hairstyle?
Guest Angle Armbar Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 While I do hate rap, and people who say Eminem has talent, Cena is making the most out of this lame gimmick. He was pretty good at making up shit last night.
