Guest converge241 Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 a little bit o bitching how was this the brand new year that the wwe.com preview promised? Handicap matches shitloads of tag matches Evil commisoners making evil matches/decisions Vince coming back sounds like hundreds of other Raws dont get me wrong there was good stuff The beatdown on the Dudleys (even though the crowd was dead) was effective IF they keep them out for a few weeks to sell it. The latest Jericho - HBK confrontation was gold, as well as Orton. Even though the posedown was cheesy and predictable..it wasnt in a bad way if you know what I mean. Like, you could see the biased judging and beatdown coming but that doesnt make it bad..its just wrestling booking 101. My general point is why hype the whole new start instead of just saying "Bischoff promises retribution on the Dudleys" and "HHH- Steiner posedown"
ChrisMWaters Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 It's called Bait and Switch. Promise something good, then give you the same old, same old.

There shouldn't be a such thing as "wrestling booking 101". As far as I'm concerened, that's one of the things that's wrong with the business, the thinking that you MUST go through with how it's been for years.
Guest converge241 Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 yes I know what bait and switch is but generally you keep that contained to the time of the show itself I mean i said before the show aired that there wouldnt be anything new on this board so i wasnt fooled..im just thinking of people who are and the fact that they can only do better to announce happenings ahead of time

It's just WWE doesn't seem to know how do do that.
Guest converge241 Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 oh trust me..im all for that: good logical surprises
Guest Mole Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 It doesn't take very much for me to like a Raw. I usually can deal with the bullshit, look at the good things, and be entertained by Raw. This however, was the worst Raw in a long time. I don't want to get into why it was bad, it was just terrible.
