Guest The Superstar Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Well, today "celebrates" the one year "anniversary" of Triple H's "inspirational comeback". He returns in MSG, poses and spits water for five minutes, enters himself in the Royal Rumble, gets interrupted by Angle, takes one German Suplex, and Pedigrees Angle. How moving. Since I know there won't be anyone saying HHH has IMPROVED since he's returned , let's talk about the things he's DONE this year. -Won the Royal Rumble -Won the Undisputed Title at Wrestlemania -Has been in 10 PPV Main Events (I count things like the SS Street Fight and World Heavyweight matches as Mains because they were "Raw Main Events") -Has lost to Chris Jericho ONCE (!!!) -Has lost to RVD ONCE (!!!) -Has lost to Booker T ONCE (!!!) *All three were cheaply, or in tag matches, btw -Has arguably, put on ONE good match this year (Summerslam) -Was given the "Ego Trip World Title" for RAW and some other stuff we can discuss.
Guest converge241 Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 how long did those "deafining" pops last again? 3 weeks?
Guest Downhome Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 how long did those "deafining" pops last again? 3 weeks? Two.
Guest The Superstar Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 As BPS will say: They must all be deafening, cause I don't hear shit.
Guest converge241 Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 yes bps' quote was a hall of famer one other thing of HHH accomplishments: stopping the Brock KO gimmick
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Since last year's return, he's had 2 major injuries and still was pushed to the moon. Half assed all his matches. Killed Ratings, the crowd, the IC title and other more deserving guys Heat. Also made Jericho pick up Dog Poo and made Ric Flair into a silent character. Triple H is the God Damn Reason I've lost my passion as a fan. It really feels like it's 1994 and I'm only watching out of habit. I'm watching the show for only a few guys these days, and just putting up with all the other shit on the show. Something Good or at least Decent better happen soon.
Guest The Superstar Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Also... RVD's push came to a screeching halt. From main eventer to SOLID midcarder. Wow.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Also, Helped Run Steve Austin off Camera. This could be argued, but I'm using it anyway.
Guest jester Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 He was the only person to come out of the Katie Vick BS unscathed.
Guest The Superstar Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 He thinks Tough Enough is killing his "Heel heat"
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Who did Hunter bury this year: Rob Van Dam Chris Jericho Booker T Kane All upper midcarders, could make main event with a tiny unselfish boost...but no, they got dropped to midcard Who did Hunter elevate: Shawn Michaels (his Clique buddy) Good year for the Game...only put over one guy to bury 4...and he didn't even have to do that one. He's the main reason I can't even get jacked up to watch Raw anymore.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 He thinks Tough Enough is killing his "Heel heat" I think not being over has killed his heat...he is not as over as a heel as he was in 2000, but Vince is pushing him like he is.
Guest evilhomer Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Who did Hunter bury this year: Rob Van Dam Chris Jericho Booker T Kane All upper midcarders, could make main event with a tiny unselfish boost...but no, they got dropped to midcard Jericho is the one most hurt by this. Booker and RVD are new to the WWE so a depush and burial right now won't hurt them if they do get the eventual main event push. Kane I think is already mid-carder for life after the number of failed pushes that he's gotten, so the newest burial is just adding some dirt on the already dug grave. But Jericho is someone who is just screaming for that final main-event rub. He was pushing the ceiling for so long and from the Hell in the Cell match that he should have won, to the WM match that he should have one, he was sent hurtling back down. He got there, he looked good in the matches, but he just couldn't go over that hurdle. It's just put a big label on him of "good, but not good enough" and damaged him to the point where he just can't be taken seriously anymore. Maybe if he was given a sustained push with meaningful wins he could be repaired, but I have a feeling that he would just run into the same HHH roadblock when he needs it most.
Guest jester Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Who did Hunter bury this year: Rob Van Dam Chris Jericho Booker T Kane I'd add Bubba to that list. They gave him a brief push against HHH. HHH casually beat him (clean too, IIRC) and that was that. Then there was HHH no-selling Brock's title victory on the following Raw...
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 I'd add Bubba to that list. They gave him a brief push against HHH. HHH casually beat him (clean too, IIRC) and that was that. That is the only squash I won't complain about.

Guest Human Fly Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 He buried John Cena too (which in turn buried Jericho even more). Remember when Cena was going to slap Vince but HHH was like "only Hogan should do it blah, blah". Well a few weeks later Cena is jobbing on Velocity and Hogan has the tag titles. Then go to now Hogan is at home with his contract about to expire, no match with Vince, and the only real confrontation they had was Hogan thumping Vince in the chest with his finger. While John Cena is in a curtain jerking feud with Rikishi. Also, don't forget HHH's "motivational" speeches that he gave to the roster.
Guest bob_barron Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Triple H jobbed to Jericho cleanly- all Undertaker did was stand on the apron. Triple H's return was amazing live and is probably one of my favourite moments ever at a live event
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Hmm.. Hes gone from posing for 5 minutes and getting a huge crowd reaction in MSG to posing last night and nearly putting the crowd to sleep in just one year.. Way to go HHH!
