"You talk about your woman

I wish you could see mine,

You talk about your woman

I wish you could see mine,

Every time she starts to lovin'

She brings eyesight to the blind.

You know her daddy gave her magic

I can tell by the way she walks.

You know her daddy gave her magic

I can tell by the way she walks.

Everytime we start shakin'

The dumb begin to talk.

She's got the power to heal you never fear

She's got the power to heal you never fear

Just a word from her lips

And the deaf begin to hear."-MOSE ELLISON

So, in response to one of the greatest flames of all time, you quote lyrics from one of the worst musicals of all time?

"The amount of poverty and suffering required for the emergence of a Rockefeller, and the amount of depravity that the accumulation of a fortune of such magnitude entails, are left out of the picture, and it is not always possible to make the people in general see this." - Ernesto Che Guevara

Sometimes FZM, it costs people too much. Sometimes compassion isn't worth it to some people because they would lose other things that are more valuable to them.

That is like, the only solution I can come up with for a LOT of what I see go wrong everywhere.

Well, the good thing is doesn't cost me anything. It's an unlimited supply.....

And yeah, lack of compassion is one of the main reasons for the shit that goes on in this world. It's very simple, almost too simple for some of the "holier-than-thou" types on this board......

That's funny because you strike me as on of those "holier than thou" types with your endless "compassion."

Some Guy, I know that I do, and I realized the same thing while I was writing that, and even if I am, I can't change it as related to my convictions and ideas. I respect the fact that a lot of people here are hip to people like Ashcroft trying to take away our fundamental rights, and I respect the fact that just in simple conversation and discussion with people here that I've come to find that speaking from a purely liberal standpoint is no better than being fuckin Strom Thurmond's wrinkled ass in a seat in Congress. Please, my compassion has a real heart, even if it falls short running into the brick-wall of opinion I find here. I think the world is as equally as fucked-up as it is beautiful, and sometimes I'm too attached to the beautiful to extend simple warmth and exchange of ideas to those I find supporting a line of thought/s I find totally destructive to the human experience. It's just my fucked-up opinion, like your fucked-up opinion, and you can take or leave it, or you can act like this message board is some international summit or third-grade playground where you can feel some cheap power. Whatever. C'est la vie. It's alright. Bla bla bla...................

Street Fighting Man (Jagger/Richards)

Ev'rywhere I hear the sound of marching, charging feet, boy

'Cause summer's here and the time is right for fighting

in the street boy

But what can a poor boy do except to sing for a

Rock'N'Roll Band 'cause in sleepy London Town

There's just no place for Street Fighting Man!

Hey! Think the time is right for a Palace Revolution

But where I live the game to play is Compromise Solution!

Well then what can a poor boy do except to sing for a

Rock'N'Roll Band 'cause in sleepy London Town

There's just no place for Street Fighting Man!!

Hey! Said my name is called Disturbance

I'll shout and scream, I'll kill the King I'll rail at all his servants

Well then what can a poor boy do except to sing for a

Rock'N'Roll Band 'cause in sleepy London Town

There's just no place for Street Fighting Man!!

FZM I just... I just don't think random ass rock n roll is going to work. It just lacks the the the clarity of a well defined argument. Plus the stone suck HAH!

And now to prove my point...

"Picture yourself on a boat on a river

with tangerine trees and marmalde skies

somebody calls you

you answer quite slowly

a girl with kalidascope eyes...

cellophane flowers of yellow and green

towering over your head

look for the girl with the sun in her eyes

oh shes gone (?)"

EAT THAT!

"I think I just became obsolete."

HAHA!! FOILED AGAIN, TEALE!! WE'LL MEET AGAIN!! IN SOME OTHER PLACE, AND SOME OTHER TIME!!

Fine then, we'll do old jazz quotes.....

"Oh well a young man ain't got nothin' in the world these days

I said a young man ain't got nothin' in the world these days

You know in the old days

When a young man was a strong man

All the people they'd step back

When a young man walked by

But you know nowadays

It's the old man,

He's got all the money

And a young man ain't got nothin' in the world these days

I said nothing

Everybody knows that a young man ain't got nothin'.

Everybody!

Everybody knows that a young man ain't got nothin'

He got nothin'

Nothin'

Take it easy on the young man

They ain't got nothin' in the world these days

I said they ain't got nothin'!

They got sweet fuck-all!"-MOSE ALLISON

I think the thread starter was trying to state the stupidity in the "buying drugs helps support terrorism" when any buffoon knows that it is oil consumption that is funding the terrorists more than anything, yet we get people saying, "If I want to own an SUV and get 1 mile to the gallon, then so fucking be it"

Too many people that argue about foreign relations, know nothing about life outside of America, thus have the attitude, that we are great and if anyone from anywhere else doesn't like it, they have the right to get bombed to hell. They can careless about human labor policy in other countries, or the fact that we exploit it. Of course this is not everyone, because most conservatives on this board seem to be smart enough to avoid this cliche, but when you listen to a lot of conservatives on TV, they just write off other countries as crap. Now, I will be the first one to stand up and say that I think our country is the best around, yet that doesn't mean we are perfect, ALWAYS right, or that other countries are horrid and deserve shit.

Yes I do write for 411 and thank you. As a word of advice- the song lyrics aren't really helping you much.

"Now we demand a chance to do things for ourself

We're tired of beatin' our head against the wall

And workin' for someone else

We're people, we're just like the birds and the bees

We'd rather die on our feet

Than be livin' on our knees

Say it loud, I'm black and I'm proud"-JAMES BROWN
