Guest Slapnuts00 Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 I was watching Sportcenter and they did a piece on Jesse Ventura, while showing old wrestling clips of him they said that he has been in a training program for a return to wrestling. They quoted him as saying it all depends on whether WWE President Vince Mcmahon "puts the decimal point in the right place". They also said that Ventura is looking for a match to be set up with "former University of Minnesota wrestling prodigy Brock Lesnar". Discuss...
Guest Choken One Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 When is the next PPV in Minnesota? I thought it was at Vengence.
Guest El Satanico Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 All the ESPN segment said was that it's a possibilty.
Guest El Satanico Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 Jesse isn't governer of Minnesota anymore so it doesn't matter when a WWE ppv will be in Minnesota.
Guest EternallyLazy Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 If he returns, it will just be a short term deal I'm sure. He's actually in negotiations to work for MSNBC to host his own "O'Reilly Factor" like political talk show
Guest Downhome Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 I am all for Jesse coming on board to take Lawler's posistion away from him. I am NOT for him becoming an active wrestler, unless he's got in better shape.
Guest Choken One Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 I know it don't matter, But I expect a Ventura/Lesnar match would draw better in Minnesota then Miami or whatever.
Guest El Satanico Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 Oh I understand what you mean now.
Guest cabbageboy Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 This is so retarded I can't begin to think it is a serious possibility. No one wanted to see Jesse wrestle 15 years ago. If he was coming back to commentate, that would be great.

I am NOT for him becoming an active wrestler, unless he's got in better shape. I think that would be great, but I don't think there's a chance for it to happen. The talks with MSNBC are pretty serious and likely they will strike a deal. MSNBC could pay him more money than Vince could and to Ventura, it's about the price
Guest Choken One Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 Wasn't this reported weeks ago, that this was just for a House Show where Ventura would be in Brock's corner against Angle and Heyman? (AH! Continuity! Didn't Ventura and Heyman have a riff in WCW?)

Ventura would be a great way to improve RAW for the new year. Lawler should just retire and spend the rest of his days on this earth hanging out at High School football games in Memphis, drooling over the cheerleaders

Guest Slapnuts00 Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 Looks like 411 has picked it up now... ESPN reported today on Sportscenter that Jesse Ventura is training for a return to WWE. ESPN claimed that Ventura has hired a personal trainer and wants to have a match with Brock Lesnar. They quoted what we reported a few days ago, that of Ventura saying he would return if Vince McMahon "put the decimal point in the right place." Credit: ESPN
Guest The Old Me Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 I surely don't want to see Ventura wrestle. I would mind listening to him talk, but I doubt Vince can afford him full time.
