Shane Helms

Okay...so I put some thought into this...

The Hurricane needs to turn heel...for two months...and this will help get him over MAJOR...

Hurricane turns heel and sheds his "superhero" gimmick and wants to be called Shane Helms...and Chris Jericho seems to befriend him for turning his back on the fans that love to hate Y2J...but behind Shane's back, Jericho treats him like scum, chatting it up with Christian about how horrible Shane is and making fun of him while Shane does Jericho's bidding and gets his ass beat time and time again.

Slowly, Shane starts to get face heat from the fans in pity because of the constant crap he goes through. Jericho even goes as far to suggest to Shane that he can beat Batista, which leads to Jericho laughing it up backstage as Batista sqaushes Shane on PPV.

The next night, Shane confronts Jericho on why he didn't help him beat Batista, but Jericho just ignores him, leading to Shane watching Jericho and finding out that Jericho actually hates him and is making fun of him.

Shane then challenges Jericho for a match at the following PPV and Jericho finally confesses to Shane that he is making fun but doesn't accept the match, saying that Shane sucks and doesn't deserve to be a match with the highlight of the night. Shane starts interfering in Jericho's matches until Jericho accepts for the PPV...

at the PPV, Jericho beats the crap out of Shane until finally Shane snaps ala Malenko at Slamboree 97 and just starts whooping on Jericho, hitting a Shining Wizard to a huge pop before slapping on a new or unique submission to make Jericho tap out and finally get redemption for two months of hell that Jericho put him through.

If the angle plays out right, Shane Helms would be OVER big while Jericho would gain so much heel heat tormenting Shane that even though he lost it wouldn't do much to his character in the end.

The fans would get used to rooting for Shane Helms new superhero gimmick "Underdog" (pun intended) whilst Shane slowly climbed up to finally overcoming his "friend" Jericho and maybe one day being the guy to beat Batista (as was discussed in another thread)

it's a crazy idea...but it could work...if the WWE and the fans really got into it and wanted it to work...

I expected some bad comments.... but man...that was LOW...

Well Jericho has jobbed to just about everyone else on the roster so you might as well do this angle. And if Jericho did tap out to Helms there would be no saving his heat.

Would someone care to explain just why this isn't a good idea? We are not talking of just going out, and having The Hurricane feud with Jericho, we're talking about a totally different character here.

Once all of this took place, Jericho would be one of the top heels, and Shane Helms would have be lookt at much differently than he is right now. You can't think of it in terms of what is right now, but rather, what could be after weeks/months of buildup, dirrection, and building of various characters.

In the end, Shan Helsm would be over as heel as a face and could move on to the Batista thing, while Jericho could use this loss to go on to the Main Event, under an angle in which he just goes crazy after loosing to Helms. Again, you have to think about this differently than if this happened right now, as things currently are.

I could work.

While not a terrible idea, it sounds almost exactly like what's happening on Smackdown with Hardy and Moore.

That's what I was thinking. No knock on Helms, but Jericho needs to become a true main eventer. Down the line something similar might work, but putting over Helms isn't what Jericho needs.

Ok, what if we substitued someone else in this angle? What if Helms moved back to SD as a heel, and joined Mattitude? It could still end in the same result if you will.

I don't see it working with Helms and Matt Hardy. They're at the same level in the eyes of most fans, so there would be no pay off for the Helms heel turn. However, it would definitely work between Moore and Hardy.

I still think Helms would be better off in The New Horsemen as the Malenko-like cruiser guy.

but how many fans want to see Shannon Moore get a push over Matt Hardy?

As of now, not many. But the longer that Matt beats the crap out of him on a regular basis, the more people will want to see him turn on Hardy.

I don't like this idea at all. Though it strikes me very much of something WWE would come up with.

Why would you have Helms be squashed by Batista, only to make Jericho tap out? Who exactly is this helping? The only guy that looks good in the end is Batista, but that's not even in a meaningful way. Jericho of course looks just like HHH would want him too--not a good thing. And I'd say Helms' character would be hurt by the frequent turns, except they're not really doing anything with him anyway, so he has no where to go but up. This wouldn't take him there, though.

Like others have said, this angle seems to be working a little with Moore and Hardy--only, Moore shouldn't go over Hardy in the end (which means he probably will...sigh...)

well him being squashed by Batista would be him trying to hard to be good just to lose...and his defeat of Jericho would be his defining moment in just SNAPPING and finally proving to the world that he can win one... Jericho could use that lose as a catapult to be so pissed that he just reeks all havoc.

One loss won't kill Jericho...he's still alive and kicking even though HHH has tried and tried to destroy him

It sounds good and a Helms/Jericho match has potentional.

Yeah, but Matt never worked for WCW, so losing to Shannon probably won't cost him anything since WWE guys get more chances by design.

By the time the writers come up with a way to book that, Nash will be back and there will be no TV time for losers like Helms...... /sarcasm

Seriously, something needs to be done at least with the Hurricane character, if it has any potential to get over, it is fading fast with his lack of TV time since his jump to Raw. I really saw something happening for him being in the big tag team matches with Kane and the considerable pop he got coming in.

He doesn't have long blonde hair, what's the deal?

I don't like this idea simply because the "Hurricane" is one of the only good CHARACTERS the WWE has left. I don't want more guys using their real names. It's getting pretty boring. Besides, Helms loves the gimmick and he puts his best into it whenever he actually gets TV time.

Leave the Hurricane alone.
