Guest Eddie Sux Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 I say the WWE should forget Goldberg coming in for two matches and have a face-vrs.-face match. Rock can come back a cocky and act bigger than the business and who better to defend the business then Chris Benoit? How much better will that be? And imagine how over Chris Benoit would be after a run against a heel Rocky, esp. if he can get as over as a heel as he used to be. I'm telling you, it's money.
Guest IB2BLACK Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Rock would rip Benoit apart on the mic.
Guest Daddy X Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 I think this is a great idea actually. Rock would have the ability on the mic to get the crowd against him and make Benoit look good not bad. I mean after the respect was shown towards Benoit the crowd is clearly behind him. Also when some ad for the Rock was shown the crowd erupted into Rocky Sucks chants. I think this would work really nicely as Rock would claim that "nobody cares about Benoit's ***** matches.. they would rather see the Rock's movies" which would more than likely turn the people against him... It could work.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 I want a Benoit v Rhyno feud.
Guest bob_barron Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Benoit v. Rhyno would be awesome. I also wouldn't mind seeing Austin put over Benoit. I'd rather they do Rock v. RVD or Rock v. Booker since both of them could use a big win
Guest Just call me Dan Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Rock's not putting over anyone at this Wrestlemania. He hasn't gotten a big win since Mania last year. And don't even talk about his wins over Flair, his title win in the 3 way , or in his match with Guerrero, those were all telegraphed.

I tend to agree, I question whether or not Rock will come back just to get jobbed out again. If the reports about him becoming more of a primadonna are true, then he might start to actually throw his weight around and refuse to job. Just like Austin probably won't job to anybody when he comes back. Just like Goldberg hates to lay down. Just like HHH won't put anybody over. ... ... ...Uh-oh.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Benoit vs. Rock would... yeah, rock.
Guest godthedog Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 i doubt the rock will have any problem jobbing to benoit. i also agree that this would be the best thing for everybody at this point: rocky gets his heel turn, benoit gets the big push he needs to be shot into the stratosphere, and the fed gets a new main event player.

Guest Jobber of the Week Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 cougHHHglassceilingbenoitgetsagaincougHHH But see, HHH is running around doing that on Raw instead. And it's already starting to fail, as Brian Gewirtz now is gaining enough attention span to book more than one angle at a time, judging by the Jericho/HBK angle. God, reducing Raw to one belt seemed to only help Gewirtz' handicap further.
Guest Insane Bump Machine Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Rock would rip Benoit apart on the mic. Well of course, that's what the angle should be all about. Rock brings the talk and all his Hollywood bullshit, while Benoit let's his wrestling do the talking. Rock as cocky part-time wrestler who thinks he's bigger than the business against the (arguably) best wrestler in the company who lives for the business....sounds like a great storyline. Dammit, now I want to see it and will be disappointed if they don't do it.

Benoit, the proud technical wrestler vs. asshole Hollywood Duane Johnson. That isn't so obvious, but it would be logical, and cool-- Hence, it won't happen. Hell, Rock might even come back as a face.
