Confidential DVD?

I noticed a blurb on the Confidential DVD cover along the lines of "What killed WCW?" or something like that. I was curious if anyone saw this as it might have some interesting shooting on Russo on it.

Also, the potential for Easter Eggs could be amazing.

Bret Hart killed WCW. I've seen most of the Confidentials, and that's what they said.

Save your money or use it more constructively, like wiping your ass with.

Yup, WWE revisionist history says giving Bret Hart a large contract is what killed them. The amazing thing is that HOGAN was one commenting on that, like he should talk about large contracts...

Anyway, I'm gonna pick this up anyway since it has Bret/Shawn from Survivor Series 97 and Bret/Bulldog from Summerslam 92 as extras. Badmouth Bret in the main program yet use his classic matches to sell the DVD, aint it just not fair?

That episode aired while the nWo was still around, so Hogan, Nash, etc didn't get any blame.

I'd think that they could have blamed Russo, even though Raw was kicking Nitro's ass for a long time before that.

This and some other WEE DVDs are packaged with a Hogan bobblehead for some reason at Suncoast...

If you want to get in discussion, Bret obviously didn't kill WCW....AOL/Time Warner merging did....but that's for a whole other topic/essay/rant.

No one caring about the product or the companies well being was what killed WCW. They consistantly hired bookers who were more interested in pushing themselves and their close friends and people got tired of seeing that shit. Saying Bret Hart killed the WCW is one of the dumber things I have ever read as WCW was destined to die long before he was even signed. IMO they were lucky to have lasted as long as they did.

Jobbing Goldberg was another stupid idea that really hurt WCW. Of course that falls under the catagory of what I all ready wrote as it was Nash who booked that mess. The fans loved Goldberg, and he should have gone 2000 and 0.

From what I've seen on the DVD, it's the Bischoff/Booker/TBS/Hogan interview on what killed WCW. It focuses on how "poorly WCW was run" at the end, from Wight's low salary, to Jericho's empty checks to the nWo.

The extended version (with the Bret hate) isn't on here. That was the second part of the Confidential interview, which aired on the same show, but in a different segment.

From what I hear, the following matches are on the DVD...

1) Jimmy Snuka vs. Ray Stevens (12/28/82)

2) Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog: WWE Summerslam (8/29/92)

3) Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels: WWE Survivor Series (11/9/97)

4) Scott Steiner vs. Booker T: WCW Nitro (3/26/01)

...you know, in case you were wondering.

Does it have Fit Findlay and the Divas segment? IMHO that was the best segment they have ever done in that show. Hey, that's a good group name

VERY interesting. Looks like Vince and Bret have indeed reached a an agreement, since at their meeting Bret just asked that they stop knocking Bret on the air and treat him with respect.

The Finlay/Divas segment can be found on the "WWE: Divas Undressed" DVD, although not here.

Here are the official chapters, according to the inside cover.

1) Eric Bischoff joins WWE

2) The Stone Cold Situation

3) Kurt Angle's Olympic Training

4) Hoops Competition

5) Davey Boy Smith

6) Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka

7) Bobby "The Brain" Heenan

8) D-Generation X Invades Norfolk

9) Demise of WCW

10) History of WCW Championship

11) WCW Champions

12) Regal's Reptiles

13) Trish's House

14) 3 Generations of Ortons

15) Samoan Family Tree

16) World's Oldest Wrestling Fan

17) Booker T Meets Levon Kirkland

18) Bret vs. Shawn-Montreal '97

---------

--"Degeneration X Invades Norfolk" is minus the WCW Mini-Office Invasion segment, which included going through the Turner Office Building (- where they found the WCW executive giving crotch chops.)

--"Samoan Family Tree" is the 2nd interview of Rikishi, sans the drive-by shooting. Focuses on the late Yokozuna, and his own family (with a guest appearance by Jamal.)

--Don't know which interviews the screwjob chapter covers. Haven't been interested to go through that BS again.

God.. They had to include the Regal and Trish segments instead of the 4 Horsemen. *sigh*

Wasn't the 4 horsemen show just a few weeks ago? I'm sure they had the dvd's ready to ship long before the horsemen show was even put together

Yeah, but they record these interviews ahead of time.
